Cool shops in New York City?

Depends on what you're looking for. I used to frequent a lot of record/CD stores downtown in the Greenwich Village area for rock/metal/punk stuff but it's been years so I have no idea how many of them are still in business, if any.

Last time I checked, Bleecker Bob's Records (118 W. 3rd Street) was still around, as was St. Mark's Sounds on St. Mark's Place... but I think a lot of the other places I used to hit are long gone :crying:

By the way, welcome to the board, sir, glad to see another Warrior Soul fan around here. :beerbang:

Thanks for the welcome and you can call me Jan, 'sir' is so...overrated :)

i'v been a Warrior Soul fan since....well since they first came to Belgium, which was in 1992 I believe. Saw a hell of a concert two years ago here in Belgium which proved that kory is still alive and kicking.

As for the record shops....I want sleaze and glam music!!! Other favourite bands are Hardcore Superstar, Vain, Skid Row, Shotgun messiah, Crashdiet, Loud 'n Nasty, Backyard Babies,....

I will check out those you recommend.

All righty Jan... no problem. Bleecker Bob's was mostly about thrash/punk (on vinyl!) back in the days when I used to shop there (we're talking twenty years ago, mind you) but St. Mark's Sounds had a little bit of everything. I'm sure there must be more stores downtown but it's been so long that I really can't think of any more. All I can say is "Happy hunting" and let us know if you make any cool discoveries. :beerbang:
