I've had a cd break in the mail before.
Also had a couple of records break in the mail...
one was a bon jovi record considered one of the rarest around (SHe Don;'t Know Me UK promo in brown p/s - usually sells anywhere betwqeen $100-$300). Luckily enough I found someone else selling the same record without the sleeve and picked it up for peanuts, to complete the package.

just got this one on now....
high pitched sleazy glam-like vocals,
sound: not a glam as early poison, not as heavy as early skid row. Maybe in the same ball-park as the Shotgun Messiah debut with a few little funky Saigon kick-like twists here and there.
haven't had this one on for a long time but it's actually not too bad.

for those that asked....
yes, they did do a demo cassette.
no, they never released a 7".
ahh yes... adeladie smash did the cassette demo... & other smash did a 7 inch demo lp.
anyone own the original demo cassette by this fine adelaide rockers?
trying to find out if they have any of the cassettes still.
Andy (vocals) is in the process of transferring some old vhs to dvd.

obviously you don't venture into that store enough do you?
i know a few who've purchased a few scr titles there......
i also think utopia records stocks or did stock a few.
Never seen any at Utopia... which doesnt surprise me as the range there is dropping...
And i go to Red Eye quite regularly. Never see anything worthwhile there, and only once have i seen a SCR cd as mentioned.
The only time I ever go into the city these days is about two or three times a year, to see a band. I'd never dream of heading in there otherwise, but this is interesting. What prices do they go for at Red Eye and Utopia? When/if they're there.
Definately no SCR releases at Utopia or Red Eye... was there today.
what time were you there?
i got a cheap return flight from adelaide and visitied there today about lunchtime... and I totally cleaned them out of suncity releases

From left to right.... Matt, Lindsay, Geoff

i've got this one. I'll see if I can remember to have a bit of a listen tonight.
from memory they were sorta a mix between euro hair metal and tuff... but I haven't listened to it for so long i wouln''t put any credability what-so-ever into that comparison.
... on second thoughts, it's the cover that reminds me of TUFF (fist first)

the only suggestion I have is that looking at the 5th line A must = 0, which means B=0.
You can multiply 0 by whatever you want and it still =0
ie, if A=B=0
then 3A = 5000B = 0, but this does not mean 3 = 5000
-
Set a = b,
then a2 = ab
a2 - b2 = ab - b2
[a + b][a - b] = b[a - b]
a + b = b
2b = b, because we've set a = b
2 = 1
how can that be?!?!?!!?
edit... sorry had to change the brackets cos of the bloody smiley faces.

i find discs and inserts can be damaged more often with broken cases than if packed PROPERLY in paper sleeves and cardboard. (just stuffing the discs and insert in bubble wrap envelope doesn't count as properly)
don't know how many times I had discs is cases crushed and then all the little bits of plastic from the centre fixing point are floating around with the disc. Just what I want, little bits of sharp, shattered plastic floating around on the playing surface of a now unsecured disc.
-
I got their previous cd in a trade little while back. Quite a good disc.
Any idea if the current tracks are on disc (or only mp3 download)?

Carmen Gray - Welcome To Gray Land
Just one listen so far and I wasn't as impressed with this one as I was with 'Portrait'. To me 'Portrait' seemed to have a better mix of rockers and low tempo mellow tracks, whereas I though "Grayu Land' is almost compeltely low tempo mellow tracks.
Backed - I just got the Jap version with 3 bonus tracks, which 2 are great rock tunes and improve the tempo of the disc alot.
I'd like that Jap version, but with the Aussie dollar at a shitty low level again (and apparently going to go lower) pricey discs (like Jap imports) are off the menu for the moment.
I wonder why the left off the more up-tempo tracks on the regular version?

... and then ban hot chicks from wearing any sort of clothing at all!

I picked up one of their discs for a dollar $1. Not too bad, a little bland IMO.
They definitely don't have the flare of HCSS, New American Shame or Backyard Babies (as compared to above) but they were solid. A bit to modern and clean sounding for me, but a good listen.

Bon Jovi have always been an awesome acoustic band, so when they went into the studio to record an acoustic album I was pretty excited. Early on in the recording process something happened... I don't know what... that made them change direction and in the end they served us up the steaming heap that is known as 'This Left Feels Right'.
They could have made a totally incredible album. Anyone that has heard the acoustic recording of stuff like Born TO Be My Baby, Wanted DOA, Livin On A Prayer, Blood on Blood... could see that a sticking to a standard acoustic album would have been better than the experimental garbage they delivered with this one.
I never really thought about that, but the only time I've ever seen Bon Jovi live was a free gig in Darling Harbour and it was fully acoustic. And yeah, I have to agree, it was simply excellent. True to the original versions, just acoustic. Just how the album should have been...
There are actual studio recordings of:
Wanted Dead or Alive (on the Wanted Dead or Alive CDV, or Nevery Say Goodbye Aussie 7")
Born To Be My Baby (Living in Sin Jap version, or you tube the Aussie countdown 1989 version)
Others have been done at differeent acoustic gigs...
Blood on Blood (dig up the gig from the virgin megastore in melbourne 1993)
Livin On A Prayer (hundreds of different recording of this around the place)
Never Say Goodbye (plenty of version, including melbourne 93 instore)
Runaway (just dig up the crush album with the bonus disc)
A studio acoutsic album could have ended up a classic!
Instead... we got a dud. Now that was disappointing!
They actually did a marathon 3hr acoustic gig in japan just a few years back that was gonna be a double live acoustic album, but it never saw the light of day.

check their myspace. i had a bit of a listen yesterday.
they're good, but to me the image doesn;t fit the music. They look trashy but sound polished from the samples I heard.
Excellent, sounds good to me!!
but what I think is polished and what you think is polished are completely different things i think.
Possibly, but I still look forward to hearing these guys. You consider Dirty Penny polished? I believe they're polished as hell. And I like it.
DP cd definitely polished sound. Whether or not they are 'polished' live I'm not sure.
They havea sleazy sound, but polished (even over polished at times). I like that style of music a bit rawer, which is maybe where our differing opinions come into it.

you're off topic dudes. I had a serious suggestion, and just like Australian Idol and Neighbours, deanypoo thinks he rules the roost.
-
some Silverspoon demos on their mypsace site. Swedish powerpop/glam.

welcome back deanypoo
