  1. This might sound weird but I really enjoy that early electronic drumkit sound that often gets described as "dated". I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions of rock albums I might like that have that sound? Like this for instance:
  2. Also, a name suggestion: Washington Swampies.
  3. Personally I think the location and history of a team is more important than the nickname but I hear ya. In Australia this couldn't happen without the majority vote of club members. We don't have "owners" as such, just people who buy yearly memberships.
  4. Great match. Happy for Kane but I thought Shaw was best on. England has had a dream run, missing playing the huge teams (apart from subpar Germany). Denmark is in great form and playing as a team backed by emotion. Will be a good match. But England should win.
  5. Scat Opera - Four Gone Conclusion (1992). This British Funk Metal band had a cool sound. Again, the vocalist was a standout, even though we all know Funk is about the bass. This is my favourite track off the album.
  6. Go the Three Lions! I pick a score of 2-0. I hope they start Grealish for once.
  7. You can't write off Italy yet. I thought Belgium would win.

I think it might be an Aussie thing. We have these annoying people outside restaurants or clubs in Melbourne who try to convince you to go in there. They are called spruikers. It became part of what we say day to day now.
  9. Criminally unknown, KingOfTheHill with their album from 1991 and this, their best track "I Do U". Glam Funk?
  10. A pretty obscure one I think but I have it. Love the snotty sound of the singer. From 1991, Ignorance on their album The Confident Rat.
  11. Ok now I must find this cd. Awesome stuff.
  12. I'm not darkstone but defryme are cool. Pure Killer is a real jam I still love now. I guess they'd be called "nu-metal" these days but they were well before that and I agree they are funky.
  13. Mate, you are speaking my language and you must love old school Funk Metal like I do!

This is where I think we all need to be at. This pragmatic viewpoint. I would be, and am, spruiking this form of calm, realistic, pragmatism around the virus. But, I do find it hard not to yell at the hysterical TV whenever I breach my self-imposed exile of the "news".
  15. I'm literally talking about a bare knuckles fight here.
  16. If David Lee Roth circa 1980, Sammy Hagar 1986 and Gary Cherone (VH3) had a Fight Club Showdown then DLR would be knocked out first, followed by Sammy Hagar, with Cherone emerging the victor. It's true.
  17. From their self-titled debut in 1992. Funk Metal with 'tude.
  18. I have their Earthquake Visions album from 1993 but haven't been able to find that debut for sale. One day...
