  1. They are, Spain or Brazil if I recall.
  2. There are a few songs with a slant but it's really not more than an influence and it works well. Anybody who dosent listen to it because of fear of a country vibe is missing out on a truly wonderful album. Getting into it now and I really thing it's an amazing piece. Perhaps not quite as good as the last but that one was one of my favourite albums in the last few year's I said it early on after listening to the samples regarding the "modern country" element and to sum it up a second time this release is akin to the Because They Can release by Nelson or paired alongside something Keith Urban would do. NOT country by definition in the least but that new wave of pop rock country that is oh SO prevalent on the airwaves today. And I quite like the samples as I did quite like the Nelson record so many years ago...
  3. Not too shabby and the singer is easy on the eyes for sure! https://www.facebook.com/pages/devilskin/125980167433286
  4. Those are the favorite part (s) of my collection too.
  5. Rear Entrance Recording Artists Backseat Driver Wow, I miss the subtlety of the 80's.
  6. New album Time To Surrender 2016... https://www.facebook.com/Gallaxy-555301957822922/ https://youtu.be/COpQcjjp5rM https://youtu.be/Ae4nSB75pLw

  8. Nice. Is that singer the same guy in Planethard? Looks and sounds very similar to me??? https://youtu.be/0RneYWAvwl8
  9. Greetings Shane. Always nice to get new members, especially ones who want to add to the thread count and conversations.
  10. I think, even though I could Google I suspect for accuracy, but I think they were like a Georgia or Florida as the "FA" would imply. Great debut though. And no I don't hate Geoff (opposite actually), just never could wrap my head around the praise for that Vain release. Just like that Blackboard Jungle, they both fall flat for me... Peter, never did hear those Sea Hag tunes you referenced, gonna have to do some digging. Had a chance to see them in Berkley , Ca back in the late 80's but I was under aged and could not get in the club. Some for when Salty Dog played in Seattle, I was 20 I think and missed that show too. Not so "unknown" but I did like that debut from Roxy Blue (probably not from LA). And the S/T from the Bullet Boys was nice, but that one obviously got a lot of recognition. Always loved Lizzy Borden as well, thought they were way better than most the bands that got way big. At least they made a boatload of records and I did get to see Lizzy a few years back in a very small venue for a very small crowd and he was amazing.
  11. Even though DT was a Texas band. Those are all the big names and again I will say Vain, gross. I was to far up north (Seattle) to really get the full impact from that scene, even though many of the unknowns played the wet coast and we had our own pretty happening scene at the time. For "known" LA area bands I'd say Sea Hags were too cool and I wish they had more material. Along with Salty Dog. As for unknowns???
  12. The Legend of Wasco Well below b level clown horror movie.
  13. I am enjoying all the tracks I have heard from this band. That "What U See Is What You Get" is a great one definitely! https://www.facebook.com/showbizrockband
  14. Jack and Jill My kids absolutely live Adam Sandler which I suspect is his motivation these days. Movies that kids and their parents can watch together.
  15. Yes do as Rob is a ridiculously good singer. Dare I say vocalist. See my review here: http://sleazeroxx.com/reviews/thrillkiller-time/
  16. An amazing EP entitled Time ( all the tunes are posted below) released last December (2015) from Baltimore's Thrillkiller. Rob and Maxim were in the band Aries for those keeping tabs. http://www.thrillkiller.net/ https://www.facebook.com/ThrillkillerBand https://youtu.be/F4MWcQoOW9Y https://youtu.be/lIgTG5nipvc https://youtu.be/LKRtSReWI28 https://youtu.be/SLBrOdwuuEA
  17. The samples leave me feeling disappointed and not interested. Let us hope they can muster up a chorus or something with a hook or two or this one will come and go like so many other missed opportunities when good musicians pair up.
  18. Finished up the Austin Powers trilogy, now my kids know far to many words for penis...
  19. Intro'd the kids to the first Austin Powers. Going to go through the second and third today...
  20. Just watched a 6 pack of "Steel Style" episodes, funny stuff. I wonder when they will do a movie/mockumentary ala Spinal Tap.
  21. One of my favourite films. Alan Tudyk is too good. True that. Watched that second Maze Runner film, excellent btw and Alan had a great part in it. Introduced the kids to Zoolander last night as well in preparation's for the new movie and it was of course well received as I tis ridiculous and quite funny.
  22. Carls Jr has been doing these super sexy commercials for a long time. Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and some others have donned some secret sauce and rolled around with some massive burgers. This one is epic for obvious reasons... I agree with Dan that spicy chicken value menu sand is great and I have had the burgers and they are good for a fast food chain.
  23. You don't like Ryan Reynolds? I love the kid. His comedic delivery is great. That recent film he did where he killed all his co-workers and his cat and dog talked to him was excellent. Can't think of the name of it right at the moment even though I can see the box cover clearly.
