  1. Hey Kids, Do you ever take the time and wonder why there are so many Retrospect Records bashers?? All these people who have problems with Sam but he is oh, so innocent!! Dave Suncity Records
  2. Hi again kids, I speak to these bands personally almost everyday. I know the truth and that's what matters to me. The rest of the people can believe what they want. You don't hear me talking about other record label like this. I have the up most respect for labels like Metal Mayhem, Perris Records, Z Records, MTM Records, etc.... Sam may be kicking Suncity Record's arse in the number of releases he releases but I believe in quality not quantity and Sam knows that. Kind Regards Dave Suncity Records
  3. Hello kids, One thing I know about Sam and I'm sure he doesn't mind me saying is when approaching bands and signing them he doesn't tell them that he presses he's CD's on green-tinted CDR's. That is in my opinion VERY dishonest. I can guarantee that most of his bands wouldn’t have signed up with him knowing that he does CDR’s. The reason he gets a lot of great bands is because he offers them a good royalty rate and the only reason he can do this is because he saves thousands on getting the CD's done (without the bands knowing). The only reason Manillla Thrills is going to be silver pressed is because I told them that if they went through Suncity Records, their CD’s would be silver pressed. And were like WHAT? We thought Sam’s CD’s were silver pressed as well. So they made Sam have that their CD’s had to be silver pressed in the contract, but bands like Action, Sweet Teaze, etc, found out after the CDR’s had be pressed. When I approached Sam about this he said the reason that Manilla Thrills is going to be silver pressed is because they will sell over 1,000 copies, that is another lie. I do not believe that he honestly thinks that Manilla Thrills will sell more than Defcon, Rock Boulevard, Friction, etc, and they weren't silver-pressed. Things don't add up! The reason I know is because I know a lot of the bands he deals with personally too. Once I inform them that this is the case, they are very upset about the CDR's. There is no need for anyone to bring up Sam’s abusive language and threatening tactics, we all know Sam isn’t the best communicator and can get a little hot headed, but to his credit he has worked on it and is getting a lot better. I appreciate what he is doing to a degree but I just wish as well as plenty of other people he would just straighten himself up a bit. Kind Regards Dave Suncity Records
  4. Don't bring me into this mate, I have nothing to do with Kidd Wikked. I know Sam has no plans to have it released. A lot of people will be happy to know that Sam and I are on good terms and working together in a way to get this awesome material out to the fans one way or another. Sam has got some awesome releases coming in the next month and Suncity is talking to heaps of bands with some annoucements to be made in the future. I still think Sam should Silver Press his CD's (LOL!!!!) Kind regards Dave Suncity Records
  5. Studboy, when you're trying to sell something over the internet you really should be up front and honest. The potential buyer should know that it is a CDR re-issue. Dave
  6. Some infomation that I can give you is that Retrospect Records press everything on green tinted CDR's and alot of there releases have just been taken from the cassette and then re-mastered, not from the original masters. The artwork is taken from the tape aswell. That's the reason why they get things out so quick, it's a pretty simple process really, so weather you call that a proper record label is up to you. It is certainly not the way Suncity Records, Metal Mayhem, Perris Records, Kivel Records, Z Records, etc.. do things. I hope that helps mate P.S. I will say that Retrospect Records have some great music though Dave Suncity Records
  7. Now Mikey, I know you are never going to agree with me since we had a fall out over that Sister Sky CD you had on ebay but the reason our first 2 releases took so long is because we put alot of time and effort into packaging and production as well as starting up a business. You wouldn't have a clue what those Schoolboy Crush & Blue Tears sound like before they went through the remastering process. The next 2 releases: Swingin' Thing & Blue Tears will be of the highest quality and that is what our fans will expect from us. Let me tell ya, these next 2 CD's will have you saying to yourself WOW!! they are totally worth the wait. I gaurentee it mate!! As I have said before the artwork and the pre-production (the things that take all the time) has been done so it would be a matter of just pressing them. To the rest of you all, I had a listen to how the South Station material is turning out and it will blow your mind!! I can't wait to upload some sound samples on the website. Kind Regards Dave Suncity Records
  8. The Manila Thrills album has almost been re-mastered and all-new art work has been done so it would be released in 3-6 weeks once the paper work was fixed up. I know I would rather a record company to put in more time and effort into a release and for it to take a little longer to come out than these quick fire releases by record companies that take no pride in their work. I tell you what, if I was choosing between Metal Mayhem and Retrospect Records, It would be hands down Metal Mayhem. At least there is alot of time and effort gone into the Artwork and Production values. Although I would say Ryan is really busy right now with the releases of Dare Force, Kidd Blue and Miss Crazy dew out very shortly. Kind Regards Dave Suncity Records
  9. Hello People, Dave from Suncity Records here. Just a question to the Heavy Harmonies die hards: Would you guys like to see the Manila Thrills album released on cd by Retrospect Records or Suncity Records?? Just very interested in what people think. As you know Suncity Records have set prices, take alot of pride in the artwork, production (re-mastering/re-mixing) and release everything on SILVER PRESSED discs?? Thanks for your time. Kind Regards Dave Suncity Records P.S. This post is not intended on starting up the Retrospect Records spokes people, just for me to get an idea on what people think??

  12. Hi all, Dave from Suncity here. I can't remember getting any contact infomation on this band, can someone email me with the contact info and I will promise all you fans that I will do everything to get this album finally out on CD (Original artwork too.) Thanks Dave www.suncityrecords.com
  13. Way is Sam so bad at dealing with people and seems to get very upset and aggressive?? He jumps straight on the back foot as soon as you ask him any questions. It seems like he had got something to hide?? How can a owner of a record label handle himself in such an un-professionally manner and expect to run a viable business. Maybe anger management could help him out?? Dave
  14. Can anyone who has bought one of Sams green-tinted CDR's, please scan the back of one of his cd's and post it here on Heavy Harmonies. Just so people can get an idea of how green the tint is on them. Thankyou Dave
  15. Hi Michael Your money for both the Blue Tears and Schoolboy Crush CD’s has been returned in full to your Paypal account as requested. It’s a shame your Blue Tears CD was not received in sufficient time, although thousands that have been posted seem to have arrived safely. It was definitely posted out to your given address on August 1, 2005 with all the other pre-orders. Not one complaint from anyone else but you. To be honest Michael, I really don’t know why you ever ordered through our label being that you have a personal vendetta with David. It was certainly predictable this was going to happen, you having your say on this forum and trying to discredit Suncity Records. What the readers of this forum have not been told by you is that I have been working through this with you via many emails and I even personally phoned your home to be told by the lady answering that “you no longer lived there” and she “did not have a phone number I could contact you on”. Please be good enough to post on this thread as soon as your order does arrive – because it will! The post may be slow, but it will arrive. I am sincerely sorry this has happened to you and wish you all the best in the future. Kind regards Sue Moors Suncity Records
  16. Thankyou Andy for identifying yourself. I didn't know you lived in Melbourne, I thought you lived in Adelaide for some reason?? Maybe I'm getting you mixed up with Lindsay. I haven't been into Radical Records for a while but I talk to Doggy quite a bit over the email and PM. I'll have to pop in again sometime soon, I always spend to much money when I go there!! P.S. I asked Doggy if he thought they would stock our cd's and he said he didn't think so. Andy, email me at david@suncityrecords.com and we can maybe catch sometime. Kind Regards Dave
  17. Yeah, he is a polly for a district of New South Wales. Actually quite a smart guy which is pretty strange for someone in politics!! Dave
  18. Well, well, well. I'm gonna have a pay that. The answer is Canberra but I will expect Caberra. Well done, to the top of the class for you. Dave
  19. An easy one for you then: What is the capital of Australia?? No searching the net mate!! Dave
  20. Mikey, Can you please confirm that I'm not MelodicRockOz?? That would be much appreciated!! Dave
  21. I didn't mean to be bagging off Americans but it is universally known that most Americans don't know to much about anything non-American. Dave
  22. This is just an email I received from Sam. This is not very peofessional at all!! "aka MelodicRockOz Dude , how is it you are civil to me in the emails but you are a fucking prick on Heavy Hypocrites? You start in with the Friction being a bootleg?? You never even contacted them you lying asswipe. Man , your jealousy is just shining through.....are you bitter because I got to these bands before you??? Dude , I have over 100 bands signed to my label compared to your 2. I'd say i was kicking your ass......now STOP taking pre-orders and START sending out discs. Everyone knows your game. oh , and shut the fuck up and concentrate on your own label , which hasn't even released any product yet , and quit being a 2-faced fuckhead. If you aren't MelodicRockOz then I apologize for this pissed off email but my gut tells me that I am 99% correct and a few phone calls would confirm yes or no." Dan is there anyway you can prove that I'm not MelodicRockOz?? Or can MelodicRockOz fess up to who he or she is? Thankyou Dave Suncity Records
  23. MelodicRockOz is not me!! Leave me out of this. I hope both labels do extremely well if they are above board. All I have said on the issue is the way you (Sam) have conducted business in the past was not right, you have told me this via email. I still have the email if you would like me to send it to you. Just because MelodicRockOz is from Australia doesn't mean that we are the same. Australia is as big as America but I wouldn't expect you to know that considering you are an American. Good luck with Retrospect Records. P.S. One thing I can confirm is that we will certainly miss Joe, he was a real top bloke!!! Dave Suncity Records
  24. I know Sam and I know Joe well. Joe helped me out getting my Record Label up and running and I can't thank him enough for that!! I just have a few issues with the way Sam does business fo example: He re-issues these great cd's without telling the bands and once the bands find out and approach him he then starts giving them royalties. I would have thought you would approach the bands first?? He also sells his cd's without telling the fans that they are really re-issues. I like these cd's as much as anyone including you James, but I'm running my business totally above board so I would have thought I could bring this issue to the table. By the way no it all, Retrospect Records are NOT my competitor. He is doing re-issues and I'm releasing un-released material. Get a clue James before opening your mouth!!
