  1. I've heard them say in interviews they like simple artwork..... Would rather time and money be put into the music anyways
  2. Thanks for making me feel better as I was thinking maybe I'm nuts This to me isn't all that much different than Poison, Kiss, etc in the 80s. Obviously not in their league...but similar approach. Agree...not anything to take real serious. I kinda view it a little like Steel Panther...but better and more serious than that imo. These guys aren't winning any Grammy's lol. I'm digging this though......nice diversion for something a little fun and different.
  3. Shared this somewhere else and it's getting ripped apart pretty good. To me it seems like some fun, mindless bubble gum listening with hooks, harmonies, guitars, etc. Maybe I'm just in a good mood lately or have a really open mind, I don't know lol. I like the 80's time warp though
  4. Yep...I really struggle with the vocals with these guys.
  5. Another new tune....Sounding good to me.
  6. I'd say the US version is probably a jewel case. I just looked on NEH's web site which usually lists the packaging and it's saying jewel case. http://nehrecords.com/Shop/SantaBad.htm#MTYA172 I'm always paying attention to the jewel case thing as I absolutely despise digipaks. There have been quite a few Cd's I've avoided buying solely because they're digipaks. And when I do cave in and buy them, I usually end up making my own jewel cases out of the digipaks by cutting them up or making totally new inserts myself. I suppose a digipak CD is better than no CD at all. But I really hate that packaging as they always just end up getting all bent and marked up. And it seems like most times there aren't even booklets with them.....Although sometimes there is. Okay....Sorry for the rant lol.
  7. Agree. Comin' on to you is a good tune. I like Under My Skin too though even though it's pretty simple and basic. Do think they are moving in the right direction with the newer songs. The Def Leppard covers they've been sharing have been pretty good too and that's what got my attention. I think I saw somewhere they're working on some new music so will be interesting to see how that sounds.
  8. Hadn't paid much attention to this but recently bought it after liking a couple tunes I heard.....Not too bad. They probably should've cut a few songs from the album to strengthen it but likely were just throwing a bunch of stuff out hoping something would stick. There's potential here and good to see a younger band playing this style of music much like Station.
  9. Sticking the knife and and turning it! Can't wait for this one. I'm guessing we'll be seeing a new single pretty soon along with preorders opening if they're sticking to their early April release. Hoping More Than The Moon and Easier Said Than Done made the cut....both of those songs sounded pretty good live.
  10. Have tried but have struggled to get into these guys. I thought I'd live them being a big Leppard fan but they just haven't clicked for me. Mostly I think I just struggle with the accented vocals. I recently got Thrill of the Night cheap off eBay though and have been giving them another try in preparation for seeing them at MRF5. I also have Idolizer which I think is a bit better than Thrill. Although, that Rawk n roll heart attack song is pretty catchy.
  11. Play it after Tokyo Motor Fist and it sounds great though
  12. Thanks for posting these samples! https://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6839&CDName=Cold Star Dancer Sounding absolutely fantastic to me. Personally really digging the sound of Goodbye and Seize The Day as more melodic tunes but all sounding good to me.
  13. Pretty much feel the same way. Decent tune but doesn't blow me away. I like a couple of the other songs I've heard from the podcast I posted above better than this. Hoping there is some variety and more melodic stuff on the album.
  14. I'm pretty sure I heard Rob say in an interview he had like 30-40 songs written for the debut album which might be one reason why they can turn another around quick. Will be interesting to see what they come up with but I'm expecting more of the sane which will be just fine with me.
  15. From Pete Nudeck on Facebook: So I started pre production on the first 3 songs for the Midnite City album #2. We're winning already. Already loving the shape of these. All.killer no polyfiller. Rob Wylde also mentioned in the same thread that the new album is targeted to be out in October of this year. Definitely looking forward to that one
  16. Absolutely loving this album. I'd basically put The Crown, Harder to Breathe, People Like Us and Shangri-La as my "10" songs. Then I'd put Tidal Wave, War Of Mine just a notch below as probably "9.5" songs but really like both a lot. Then the others are all 8.5-9.0 songs that I still like plenty. Carnival Days is quirky but an opener that puts the listener on notice. Gotta Be Real and Hope are both solid ballads. Shot of Life is a catchy tune and Reincarnation is interesting...almost a GNR "Coma" roller coaster type song. With how much I've liked this album I've went back to the first album to really give it a better listen as I really never paid much attention to it outside of just sampling a song here or there on YT. While clearly not on the same level as this new one, I'm finding a handful of songs that are growing on me. Maybe I'm warming up to the singers voice although he's definitely a bit screamy/high pitched in a few songs on the debut. This new one really hits a sweet spot though. It's melodic as heck but still rocks with good variety. And to me the production sounds fantastic while the singer is showing more range and control. Agree with Peter above....Really strong album. Even with all the great releases in 2017, if this had been released in 2017 I probably would've ranked it in my top 3. I know there are great releases coming this year but it's set the bar high for me.
  17. Decided to take a chance and pre order....not sure if it's the tune or the video that sold me on it lol. Don't really have big expectations but like the 80's flashback sound of this.
  18. Not sure about Australia. But I know they sell the CD on their web site and have info on their Facebook page. I'd just message them on Facebook if you need to ask about shipping to Australia. https://stationnyc.bandcamp.com/ Really down to earth and humble guys from the interactions I've had with them....easy to support. Also they have a new album coming out in early April.
  19. Pretty good I like Shangri-la too. The variety on this album is something that surprised me and makes the album an interesting listen. Only song that really didn't grab me at first listen was Reincarnation...but it's growing on me. Its almost reminding me some of Coma from Guns N Roses in a way.
  20. Got the album and only been through it once so can't say much so far. It's my #1 album of 2018 so far.....even though it's the only one I've bought Seriously though, I'm loving it after one listen and sounds great to me. I really find it hard to believe it's the same band as the debut as I didn't like that album at all. Really liking this one though even after one listen....big production and much more melodic which makes it more interesting and catchy. And the singer really sounds much more controlled. I think they're ticking more boxes in the rock spectrum with this now instead of just being a pure sleaze band like the debut. There's some AOR elements, melodic hard rock, melodic rock, maybe even a couple poppy moments. I think I'll be spinning this one a lot. Another tune from the album...
  21. Is there an album actually coming or is this just a stand alone single? For some reason I was under the impression it was just a stand alone single but would be great if an album is coming. Either way, I like this song a lot. I really like the heavier, more modern direction they started going in on the last album and have continued with this song. I'm guessing that some people who loved the more AOR vibe of the debut might not be as thrilled with this direction though. Good stuff.
  22. Nice! Was hoping the new album would be out in time for MRF5...Looking forward to seeing the new songs live!
