FTR, I actually bought and like Good 2B Alive. While not "Steelheart" Steelheart, it was good. That said, I would like to see another album without huge delay again. (Particularly without all the rumors about where it could lead away from rock too.)

I've seen them in Jersey thrice, but never there. That sounds like it would have been a great show with the whole introduction to A Million Pieces. For anyone that's interested (or would spend $.99), here's a clip of the song. (For those of you with iTunes, hopefully you checked it out there; I'm sure that would get more exposure, but in this music market, who knows ANYTHING!) Clip of "I Will be Alright" The orchestration is not something you'll be used to hearing from ZO2, but ZO2 definitely kicks in during this incredible song. I hope you'll give it a listen; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. (Not that ZO2 put out a great song, of course, but the type of song it is.)

^That's cool! I haven't seen them since May, so I wasn't fortunate enough to catch that, but I can't wait to hear Joey do I Will Be Alright live. It's a great song. When was it you saw them that you heard David sing A Million Pieces? What'd you think?

As far as I know, they are still shopping it to something more noticeable than IFC. I'm guessing Paulie will be working on overdrive while David is out with TSO this fall/winter. I'm still WAY behind, but I'm listening to Paulie's podcasts (free) on iTunes. I'm thinking that will be the best source of info I have until they tour again in '11 or if I see David at another TSO show (if he has any info to share). But, while I wouldn't hope against season 3 of ZRock, I really think if they can get this ballad noticed on some radio stations, they could get some serious airplay. It definitely stacks up against most radio-played ballads I can recall hearing in recent memory (although, admittedly, I don't radio listen that much). I hope some folks listen to at least the clip on iTunes and hear whether they agree or not. (I've already had a few friends listen and think it good enough to buy.) I'm hoping if sales go big on iTunes, that'll help someone take notice and maybe help them get some radio attention. And if they get noticed, maybe ZRock, season 3, comes around much easier/quicker. (If I hear anything solid, I'll be sure to pass along the info to folks here.)

While hard at work on album 4, ZO2 has released some music for fans until the album comes out. As much as I loved their first two albums and had to classify (generously, I felt) album 3 as a "grower", I was curious as to how album 4 would sound. Well, while their first song "A Million Pieces" is much more in the typical ZO2 vein and pretty good. But the second release, I Will Be Alright, which is the lead singing debut (not counting his verse on "Comin' Home") of drummer Joey Cassata. It's a great ballad! While I'm sure this isn't the direction of the entire new album, with a song of this quality, I have very high hopes that they'll return to ZO2 form. Other than a near 30 second clip on iTunes, I can't tell you anywhere to hear the song, but unless you're diametrically opposed to digital music, I don't think you'll be disappointed in your $.99 purchase.
