  4. This is great stuff! And they've been supporting Reckless Love on recent UK gigs. From stereoboard.com: "High Wycombe hard-rockers The Wild Lies have announced that their brand new EP ‘Jacks Out the Box’ will hit shelves on January 14th next year. A blend of metal fused by intricate grinding riffage colliding with stadium rock chorus melodies, The Wild Lies should be in everyone’s faces and ears very soon. With brand new EP ‘Jacks Out The Box’, the band are excited to unleash the five tracks onto the public. "You’ve got to hear this!” they declare. “It's a great balance of old school with a new modern edge! We've all pushed ourselves so hard with this EP. We are really happy with end result! Check it out!" The band have put together a brilliant music video for one of the EP’s tracks ‘Relive the Ride’ - you can check it out below now. Keep your eyes peeled for the EP when it hits shelves in the new year." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sEOsXcBFUA

  7. Exactly 21 years ago one of the greatest singer/entertainer died. It was such a great loss to the music world.. Someone posted this on Youtube: "Brian said that when they were recording this particular song Freddie got tired and that he needed to take a rest before he could finish the vocals for this song. Freddie never came back to the studio. @ you can hear his last words "mother love" and @ Brian takes over the vocal parts." Very sad. Take a listen to the very last recording of mighty Freddie. 8. From GerMusica's blog: "THE NEW ALBUM OF THE LONDONERS, THE SPIRITUAL SONS OF GUNS’ N’ ROSES AND MOTLEY CRÜE. PRODUCED BY PEDRO FERREIRA (THE DARKNESS) Album: King Lizard – A Nightmare Livin’ The Dream Release date: 09.11.2012 Style: Sleaze Metal Label: Bad Reputation/ Bertus London’s trailblazing sleaze rock act,.King Lizard, entered the studio to record their second full length studio album, the follow up to last year’s cult hit, ‘Viva La Decadence’. For the new album, entitled ‘A Nightmare Livin’ The Dream’, the band worked with producer Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Enter Shikari, Therapy?, Tank) and engineer Adam Crowe at Snap Studios, London. ‘Nightmare’ will be the first record featuring members Lee Benz (Bass) and Moyano El Buffalo (drums). If you prefer attitude and energy to flash and technical ability, King Lizard have an overabundance of the former. Time may have mellowed infamous swashbucklers such as Guns N’ Roses, but that is where this four-piece fits in — capturing the unbridled debauchery of classic albums from the late ’80s and blending it with the sneering sounds of today. If past superstars had the drive and desire of King Lizard the world of hard rock would be much better off. Wild guitars, screaming vocals, thrashing beats and pounding basslines all combine in a rocky fusion of catchy hits dripping with energy."
  9. That makes me very happy. From AOR Heaven newsletter: "Taste was formed by the two brothers Christoffer and Felix Borg the day before new year’s eve in 2009. First, Taste was only supposed to be a side-project, because both also had played in other groups. But it didn’t take long before the Swedes decided to turn Taste into a full band. During the two following years, they wrote and recorded five songs inspired by the 80′s and bands like Europe, FM, Giant, Valentine and White Lion. Since they never met any suitable band members to complete the line-up and therefore couldn’t play live, the brothers decided to record their first full-length album themselves. Taste had a vision to blend a vintage 80’s sound with a fresh modern production. The self-titled album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Christoffer Borg in his own studio and will now be released on CD by AOR Heaven on January 18th." Tracklist: 1. Back To The Future 2. Our Dreams 3. Cry For Love 4. Don’t Give Up 5. Stay 6. My Rose 7. Danger Games 8. Doesn’t Feel Like Love 9. In My Arms (Tonight) 10. The One 11. 10. From AOR Heaven newsletter: "Shylock is a warrantor for catchy hard rock songs with sing along choruses and also became a top part of the German Hard Rock league. The two masterminds behind Shylock, Matthias Schenk (voc.) and Johannes Amrhein (git.), have been working together for more than two decades. With their band mates Achim Thiergärtner (dr.) and Bernhard Schwingenstein (b.) they continue to follow their roots and show us again their strengths on album number six which is entitled “Walking Tall”. They deliver what they can do best: catchy and up-to-date Hardrock in the year 2013. Shylock started as a highly anticipated newcomer (German Rock Hard ‘Unerhört’ band) and established themselves quickly as well known live rock act. In the past Shylock have toured and played numerous shows together with bands like Bonfire, Gotthard, Adler’s Appetite, Roger Chapman, Shakra, Right Said Fred, U.D.O., Primal Fear and more. They went on the road in Germany, Switzerland and Spain. Certainly, one of the biggest highlights for the band was their TV performance in advance to the farewell-game of world known soccer player Thomas Hässler the year 2005 at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne. Shylock performed their song “Farewell” in front of 20.000 people. This show was broadcasted in Germany on TV (DSF). The four-piece has released five full-length albums so far: Shylock, Pyronized, Welcome To Illusion, Devotion & RockBuster. Although they did have to take a break from playing live due to the family duties – Matthias Schenk and Johannes Amrhein have been working hard on the new release “Walking Tall”. The new album starts off where “RockBuster” ended and songs like “Walking Tall”, “Rock DNA”, “I Can’t Wait Now”, “Anything” and “Away From Here” etc. show the band’s strength at the best." Tracklist: 1. Walking Tall 2. Rock DNA 3. I Can’t Wait Now 4. Bridges 5. What It Takes 6. Sad To Know 7. Sliding Through Emotions 8.Taken It Too Far 9. She Came Along My Way 10. 16. I thought it was about the best on here personally - here's a little track by track I did a while back. Brief as hell, but you get the point. I'm not a big enough fan to say, but I believe there is a mixture of tracks from past albums as well as new ones? Fans might be able to confirm, but I have heard a few of these tracks on some other random discs I've heard from him. Great album, though: 1. Had Enough - good melodic rocker, done better by Daughtry, but good anyway - 7.50 2. Wouldn't Let Me Love You - brilliant emotive melodic rock - 9.25 3. Like Heaven - another excellent emotive, heartfelt tune - 9.00 4. On The Inside - solid modern melodic rock - 7.25 5. Through My Veins - another very strong, emotive track - 8.25 6. Always On Your Mind - good solid song - 7.25 7. Loved - nice ballad - 7.00 8. Come Running - good solid modern rocker - 7.00 9. All Over Me - killer ballsy melodic hard rocker - 8.75 10. Scars - solid but not great rocker - 6.50 11. Done To Me - killer melodic rock song - 8.75 12. Over My Head - cool modern melodic rock - 7.25 13. Part of Me - killer melodic rocker - 9.25 TOTAL SCORE - 79% The weak songs are pretty average, but the killers - and there are several - are brilliant melodic rock / AOR songs. You're right Geoff. From wikipedia: "Inside My Head is a two disc compilation album by Richard Marx, his tenth overall. It features songs from Emotional Remains, Sundown, new recordings of some of his biggest hits, and new material. It was released on June 1, 2012, exclusively in Europe. Wouldn't Let You Love Me was release May 21, 2012 as the lead single." 17. Hah! You're weird mate... I'm still liking this alot.
  18. Yep. I think Dan Reed is a bit under-rated. He's got an excellent voice and I really like the stuff he did with Dan Reed Network. So I'm looking forward to this as well...
