  3. From Frontiers: Inspired by the late 80's Melodic and Hard Rock scene with bands such as Def Leppard, Europe, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi and GNR, Nitrate is the brainchild of Nick Hogg, a Nottingham based musician who, after playing in a few bands in the early 2000's, decided to get into song writing. He was absent from the scene for several years until, in 2015 he decided to give it another shot. Nick worked on Nitrate’s debut album with the other songwriter / musician from Nottingham Rob Wylde with whom he shared the same musical influences. The two of them managed to put together the band’s debut album ”Real World” which also featured former Zinatra vocalist, Joss Mennen. Hailed by many fans and critics as a breath of fresh air for the melodic rock/AOR community, it sported a battery of arena-ready songs that took a listener back to a time when Def Leppard ruled the airwaves. The band’s momentum continued with 2019’s “Open Wide”, which featured the new guitarist and singer Philip Lindstrand and brought a harder-hitting, cutting edge to Nitrate. With a tighter songwriting, it rocked harder, and there were vast improvements in the production production department. “Open Wide” was a homage to Hogg’s influences: an amalgam of the best that MTV could offer in the late 80’s. Oddly, the quick evolution happened between the release of “Real World” and “Open Wide” was not touched by the line up changes that happened between the two records. Nick Hogg is the Nitrate mastermind and he assembled again a fine cast for the follow up album entitled “Renegade”. This time Alexander Strandell (Art Nation, Crowne) handled the vocal duties, with Dario Nikzad on lead guitars, brothers Tom and James Martin (ex-Vega) appeared on rhythm guitars and keyboards respectively with Mikey Wilson on drums. The new record “Feel The Heat” continues where “Renegade” left off, mixing all Hogg’s influences from AOR and Arena Rock from the 80’s such as BON JOVI, JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH and DEF LEPPARD (“Pyromania”/“Histeria” era). Hogg teams up again with Tom and James Martin, who co-write almost the entire album together with Nick Hogg and Robert Hodson. Strandell is once again handling the vocals showing why he is one of the most in demand singers of the entire international scene. A true belter of an album that sits firm among the elite of the genre! Tracklist: Feel The Heat All The Right Moves Wild In The City Needs A Little Love One Kiss (To Save My Heart) (Feat. 11. This is getting a rerelease August 28th on Lions Pride Music. From Lions Pride Music: Minus One is a British singing, Cyprus based rock band, formed in 2009. The Band is based in Nicosia (Cyprus) and has so far performed in UK, USA, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Austria, and Russia. Minus One is the most known rock band in Cyprus and performs over 90 live concerts every year, almost constantly since its inception. Its biggest event has been the attendance to Eurovision Song Contest in 2016, performing live in from of 16.000 people for six times, and attending the televised final, which was followed by 205 million people worldwide. In 2014, under the name Marianne’s Wish, 3 members of the band attended the Hard Rock worldwide contest, arriving 8th on over 10.000 bands, and winning a paid tour of the United States. In 2014 the band members took the decision to enter the competition for the selection of a Cypriot representative at Eurovision 2015. This decision, unlikely for a rock band, was taken as it is basically the only way to become known abroad, since the size of the population of Cyprus (700,000 inhabitants) does not allow any local artist to reach international levels if not by leaving the country or finding a way to be known abroad (it may be worth pointing out that George Michael and Cat Stevens have both a Cypriot father). Thus the project to present the song "Shine" to the national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 was born, where it won the Jury Prize, ranking through third after the televoting. On 4 November 2015, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) announced that the group would represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, without making any pre-selection. The song, titled "Alter Ego" was created by the Group in three weeks, and brought to the production of the Swedish composer Thomas G. Son. Rated the best ever entry from Cyprus, it made it through the final but ended up in the 21st position. However, in the next two weeks, the song found its right place at the top of the charts in Spotify and iTunes throughout most of Europe. On the 2nd of July 2019, Minus One opened for Dream Theater and the Gazi Music Hall in Athens. The Minus One show lasted 40 minutes and was extremely well received by the 5000+ strong crowd, and by the press. Minus One is: Andreas Kapatais: Vocals Chris J.: Drums Max-O-Matic: Bass Harrys Pari: Guitar Constantinos Amerikanos: Guitar Special Guest: Semeli Panayiotou: Vocals on “You Don't Own Me” Tracklist: 01) The Greatest 02) How Does It Feel 03) Red Black White 04) Girl, 05) Psycho 06) Nothing For Nothing 07) Run Away 08) The Other Side Of Mind 09) Take Me Away 10) Sometimes 11) You Don't Own Me

  14. From MelodicRock Classics: Brian Bart’s resume now goes back 40 years. He has been a stalwart of the Minneapolis rock scene since the start of the 80s – as a guitarist, songwriter, producer, engineer just for starters. In recent years Brian has been the owner, engineer and producer at Logic Studios & Logic Recordings. He has recorded over 300 albums, played multiple instruments on over 100 records, including ten of his own. Best known as founding member of Dare Force, Brain’s solo debut ‘Future Vision’ came in 1987 and features a wild set of songs spanning hard rock, pomp, melodic anthems, fusion and some inspired instrumentals that show an artist in full command of his craft. The album features some fine displays of shredding and riffing, intelligent song arrangements and a guitar tone and sound that rivals the great Boston. Unfortunately for fans of 80s melodic rock, the album remains largely a mystery – it was only ever released independently on cassette. Until now. Brian Bart has re-arranged the cassette running order to better suit the flow of a CD and the material has been remastered once again by JK Northrup. ‘Future Vision’ can now be heard in all its glory on a Limited Edition 500 Series CD release from MelodicRock Classics on August 25. Track Listing: 01. Electricity 02. Post Toastee 03. Stay The Night 04. Evil 05. Can You See The Light 06. Future Vision 07. Living On The Edge 08. Get The Best Of You 09. Voice Inside My Head 10. 15. New lyric video for 'Ride On'.
  16. New album 'Heart And Soul' out August 25th through Thunderstruck Records/Sound Pollution. Press release: Skagarack released back in the second half of the 1980’s three albums, and did really well in many countries. They toured and played many cool festivals and venues, and good airplay on radio followed. This was back in the day when mainstream Radio also played Rock music, and they had hits like “I’m Alone”, “Hungry For A Game”, and “Anytime Anywhere”. Fast forward to 2020, Skagarack got some gigs offered which went great and the fans loved. It wass just unbelievable how well those old songs still sit deep inside of you! When the group started rehearsing for the gigs, it didn’t take long before it sounded pretty much exactly like it did back then. So this obviously got them inspired, and Torben Schmidt started writing new songs. The “Heart And Soul“ album consists of a mixed bag of songs written over the last 2-3 years, and recorded whenever there was time and inspiration, and without having any concept in mind at all. Just some guys playing loud music in the studio, and having fun doing so. Jan Petersen (guitars) and Schmidt grew up listening to the same kind of music and loving the same bands in the 70s, and the group believes you can hear that here and there in some of these new songs. Line-up: Torben Schmidt (Vocals, Bass, Keyboards); Jan Petersen (Guitars); Drums: Dennis Pedersen, Lars Daugaard, and Mattias IA Eklundh.
