  5. From AOR Heaven: After decades of silence, renowned Black Country/West Yorkshire AOR/Melodic Rock band ESCAPE are reborn and returning to the fray with a new line up, their third studio album entitled 'Fire in The Sky’ and new on-location video for track ‘Heroes in the Night’. This comeback album is very much in the vein of breathing new life into old classics, combining a wealth of experience and new recording technology. Some of the tracks are over 30 years old and were in desperate need of a resurgence. They have been re-recorded, reimagined and brought to the forefront of a new era and audience in Melodic Rock. All of the tracks on the album are taken from previous Vince O’Regan (Bob Catley, Legion, Arabia) releases but that’s where it ends. The production, sound and energy are all new. With new drums, bass and vocals and any original parts being remixed and remastered - the result is a bigger, fresher sound which, whilst still giving a nod to original, has elevated some already great tracks to a new level. Two tracks on this album are lifted (with permission) from Bob Catley's solo album “Spirit of Man” album released back in 2006. They are “Blinded by a Lie” and “Walk on Water”. Vince wrote these two tracks many moons ago and felt they needed a resurgence and deserved a new lease of life. Other revisited tracks come from a previous Escape album ‘Borderline’ and an O’Regan solo release ‘Temptation’. ‘ Fire In The Sky’ is very much a showcase for the new line-up and a springboard for a brand new album that is already in the writing stages. This album was recorded at each member's respective homes during lock down, then sent for mixing and mastering at Pro2 Studios in Castleford by Paul Twohig and will be released on German Label AOR Heaven in April 2021. TRACK LISTING: 1. Lost And Found 2. Heroes In The Night 3. Temptation 4. Restless Heart 5. Something to Believe In 6. Blinded By A Lie 7. Coming Home 8. Borderline 9. Destiny 10. Walk On Water 11. 6. I agree. And do you know why? Because that song is from the freaking 80s. I think they are 'cheating' a bit. If you do stuff from the 90s, please do the songs that were released in that decade. Come think of it, there weren't that many great movie songs in the 90s.
  7. New song, Cutting Crew's classic. Great song. I love the original.
  8. From AOR Heaven: FarCry is a melodic rock band from the Northeastern US formed in 2006, with two successful albums under their belt, High Gear (2009), and Optimism (2011). Playing across the US and as far away as the Nottingham, England for Firefest in 2012, FarCry has shared the stage with numerous acts including Vince Neil, Bret Michaels, Dokken, Firehouse, Danger Danger, and many more with a killer live set. Shortly after they completed their 2011 release “Optimism”, vocalist Mark Giovi left the band for personal reasons, and later in 2011 the band began working on new material with a new vocalist, as well as playing several live shows throughout 2012-2013. In 2013 with a number of other business endeavors to deal with, Guitarist Pete Fry dissolved the band indefinitely, with no plans to reform under that name. After a couple of years however, Pete teamed up with new vocalist Bob Malone and started writing material with a vengeance for a new melodic rock project. With the new material coming fast and furious, and overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding bringing back the name FarCry, Pete agreed that maybe the band’s story wasn’t finished being written just yet… Bringing everyone back into the fold wasn’t as easy as they had hoped, so a new rhythm section was brought in with Leo Sabatino on bass and Rich Yaniro on drums. Rounding it out and adding the power, Jon Giesler (guitar) joined the band and completed the picture. With roots firmly planted in the late 80's/early 90's heyday of commercial hard rock, FarCry puts their own unique spin on the sounds of that era without sounding dated. Well suited to smaller club stages opening for national acts, or the biggest festivals among multiple bands, FarCry brings their all and gives everything they've got to every show! FarCry’s latest release “Balance” was recorded throughout 2019-2020, produced by the band, and mixed by Paul Crook (Meatloaf, Anthrax). Mastered by Maor Appelbaum. All songs written by the band with the exception of “I Am Your Man” written by Steve Newman. FarCry is: Bob Malone – vocals, Pete Fry - lead guitars, Jon Giesler – guitars, Leo Sabatino – bass, Rich Yaniro - drums Keyboards on Broken Dreams by Eric Ragno Tracklist: 1. Balance 2. Stay Away 3. I’ll Find a Way 4. I Am Your Man 5. Reaper 6. Broken Dreams 7. Long Distance Love Affair 8. Mr. Destiny 9. Chasing Rainbows 10. Redemption farcryband.net www.facebook.com/FarCryBand

  12. More info from Frontiers: "Relentless" is the hotly anticipated sophomore album from the new metal project Sweet Oblivion which showcases former Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate. The self-titled debut album caused quite a stir in the international hard rock and metal scene since it brought Tate back to a musical landscape akin to the sound of the stone cold classic metal albums he released with Queensrÿche during the ‘80s. But what made the album work so well was that instead of being a simple throwback, other different musical influences were thrown into the mix, allowing fans to hear Tate in a simultaneously famliar and new musical setting. While the production and main songwriting on the previous record were handled by Simone Mularoni of DGM, this time the production was instead handled by his fellow Italian metal maestro Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere, Timo Tolkki's Avalon, Archon Angel). Not only does Aldo produce and handle the songwriting, he i salso featured on guitar. Other musicians appearing on the album include Michele Sanna on drums, Luigi Andreone on bass, and Antonio Agate on keyboards. This time around, Tate was more involved in the songwriting and asked Aldo to draft a very special song for him, which he would ultimately sing in Italian. The song also features guitars from Walter Cianciusi and Dario Parente, who are now also in the Operation Mindcrime live band. Musically, this album showcases the great songwriting and performing talents of Lonobile and his cast of musicians and also marks a very welcomed return for Tate to a style that he made famous along with his former band. Fans of Tate’s work in Queensryche’s early days and of the previous Sweet Oblivion record will not want to miss this! Line-up: Geoff Tate - Vocals Aldo Lonobile - Guitars Luigi Andreone - Bass Antonio Agate - Keys Michele Sanna - Drums

His voice has gained him international recognition, both as a studio singer and as a member of the bands AVANTASIA, VOODOO CIRCLE, SINBREED, BEYOND THE BRIDGE, and recently FIREWIND. Their debut album is currently being recorded and produced by Herbie himself with none other than Sascha Paeth (AVANTASIA, KAMELOT, BEYOND THE BLACK, SASCHA PAETH'S MASTERS OF CEREMONY, etc.) handling mixing and with Miro adding his special touch on orchestrations. Herbie says, "I am happy to announce that I am back with a new metal band called "SONIC HAVEN". 14. 'Evil And Divine' out May 14th through Frontiers. From Frontiers: SUNBOMB is a highly anticipated new musical alliance between two steadfast warriors of the U.S. hard rock/metal scene, Tracii Guns and Michael Sweet. They have put together an absolute blinder of a heavy metal album, melding influences of classic metal bands such as Black Sabbath and Judas Priest with Tracii's love of metal subgenres, specifically doom metal. Tracii leaked the news of the new project in a March 2019 tweet, where he described the project's debut LP as "the Metal record I would have made when I was 17 years old.” In May 2020, he mentioned on "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” that "The SUNBOMB record is really kind of like [L.A. GUNS' 2019 album] 'The Devil You Know' times three. It's more on the heavy side of 'The Devil You Know' album. And Michael Sweet, he's a really fantastic metal singer." The music style on the record is much heavier than what one would expect from these two musicians and is firmly planted in the 'metal' category. While Tracii wrote the music for the album, the fact that Michael Sweet has been writing in an increasingly heavier style on latter era Stryper albums made him a very logical choice to sing for the band. And since doom metal, often known for having powerful singers like Messiah Marcolin from Candlemass and Eric Wagner from Trouble, was a massive influence on Tracii's songwriting here, Sweet's ability and range were a perfect match. Drums on the album were handled by Tracii's old L.A. Guns bandmate Adam Hamilton and bass was handled by Mitch Davis, with the exception of the track 'They Fought', which features current L.A. Guns bassist Johnny Martin. This release is a project created, overseen and directed by Serafino Perugino President and A&R director of Frontiers Records. Tracklisting: 1. Life 2. Take Me Away 3. Better End 4. No Tomorrows 5. Born To Win 6. Evil And Divine 7. Been Said And Done 8. Stronger Than Before 9. Story Of The Blind 10. World Gone Wrong 11. They Fought Line-up: Tracii Guns - Guitars Michael Sweet - Vocals Adam Hamilton - Drums Mitch Davis - Bass Johnny Martin - Bass (We Fought) facebook
