  1.

I thought there had been a poll sometime, but I just couldn't find it. I even asked about it in either the Kix-Poison poll or the Ratt-Poison poll, but no one responded.

Well, let's see how it goes this time around. Ratt was up 18-13 in the other poll. In that poll, I gave the slight nod to Kix, just like I did this time around.

  2. I rarely use Amazon, usually just eBay ....maybe that should change.....how do you find a particular seller and their wares on Amazon ?

Yeah, I was gonna ask the same thing. I can't find anything.

I'm not sure, but I would say 50 percent of the time I can find CD's much cheaper on Amazon than on Ebay. For example I got the Joker S/T CD for $5.99 and a copy of Mad Max Rollin' Thunder white slimline pressing for $17.

Wow!!! I have never seen the Joker on there and I look for it every once in a while.

It's there you have to hunt through the pages to find it.

Here you go...don't all thank me at once. :P

Thanks Bob I just ordered it for $15.99 from someone in Arizona.

I just wonder how some of those sellers have NEW copies when this has been out of print for many many years?

Maybe someone found a hidden stockpile somewhere in Greece?

  3. Just received this CD I won in an Ebay auction.

Link to CD description on eBay

    A couple comments:

1-Item is listed as LIKE NEW, (eBay description: "An item that looks as if it was just taken out of shrink wrap. No visible wear, and all facets of the item are flawless and intact."), although seller does mention the serious tab indent in front insert. No mention is made, however, of the readily apparent humidity warping in the rear insert (although picture does show it).

2-Disc itself is not LIKE NEW (i.e. unblemished), although most would probably describe it as EXCELLENT, including myself. Just a few hairline scratches.

3-Disc is clearly marked "For Promotional Use Only," and this was not in any way mentioned in the eBay description.

    Am I being nit-picky?

Does anyone know if this CD was released in Promo form only? If so, than I am not nearly as concerned about this.

Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your help!

  4. I like'em all to one extent or another (even the widely hated SHOW BUSINESS) but my faves would be MIDNITE DYNAMITE and HOT WIRE. Of course, BLOW MY FUSE was their lone "hit" and it's a great album, but the problem with it is the production blows goats. That album needs a remix/remaster like nobody's business.

Cool Kids...have a bit of a new wave (Cars-ish) vibe to some of the cuts.

I was just listening to COOL KIDS earlier today. It's something of a mish mash but I can dig the Cars/new wave influence, I also hear some Cheap Trick vibe.

The video for the title track always cracks me up. All them city kids in greaser jackets, skinny ties and 80s haircuts rockin' out in the streets! It's like an outtake from "Square Pegs" gone horribly wrong.

So true about the production on BLOW MY FUSE - It BLOWS!

Cool Kids came on the radio the other day. I was in the weight room with about 6 teenage boys. No one had even heard of Kix. Very disappointing....

Unfortunately, I am among those who have never seen Kix. :crying:

  5. I know I ask this every time they play... Is anyone going to either of the KIX shows in early September..?

FRIDAY, Sept. 10th, 2010 ~ JAXX in Springfield, VA.

SATURDAY, Sept. 11th, 2010 ~ Hager Hall in Hagerstown, MD.

I couldn't pull off the Hollywood show last weekend... but at least I can get my fix in September. :headbanger:

How far do you live from Hagerstown? I am a little over 2 hours away. I am REALLY interested in that show on 9/11, but I cannot find anyone around my area to go (plus I have several friends who are pulling me to see a fine Rolling Stones tribute band locally that day).

But I have NEVER seen Kix live! That is something definitely missing from my life!

Respond to this thread or PM me. Let's talk about this one. Maybe we could meet up! :headbanger:

Man, I hope we can work this out! Woo Hoo!!!! :guitbannana::party421::banger::drink:

  7. Are sale results higher/better/quicker to sell on Amazon than on Ebay? I get the factors that it is simple and not as costly, but do people actually buy stuff?

Last 90 days I sold 230 CDs for a sales total of about $2200 on Amazon. That's after paying for shipping and all Amazon fees deducted. I also sold about 20 CDs on GEMM for a profit of about $550 after all fees and shipping.

Because of my work schedule I sell to the USA only. I know it hurts my sales but international sales are too much of a pain for me. Currently I have about 1700 listings on Amazon and 750 on GEMM. The only things I list on GEMM are CDs that Amazon does not have listings for.

There are no fees either place unless you sell something. Plus there is no constant relisting. The only reason I will use eBay from now on is to sell multiple CDs in a lot, and I have not done that since late last year. As far as I am concerned, eBay sucks for sellers compared to Amazon. To much work, too many losses.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it! :beerbang:

  8. Have never used the auction part of marketplace (not even sure it still exists), but I will say that there is very little point to selling cheap CDs on Amazon.

While there is no listing fee, which is great, the cut they take on lower priced items makes it hardly worthwhile selling.

Also, with fixed price listings, everyone who lists the same item after you will nearly always list it slightly cheaper, and you end up having to adjust your prices.

A friend of mine who runs a motorsport shop over here also sells on eBay, and says he wont sell on Amazon as it ends up costing him more in the long run.

eBid is worth a look at as I believe the customer base is growing, and their fees are minimal.

I still prefer Amazon. Very low maintenance, and that is what I need.

I will not list anything less than $3.49. Just not worth the time and effort. The remaining stuff I sell cheap to local wholesalers or, if I get time, sell lots on eBay.

  9. I LOVE it. Plain and simple, no haggling, no bullshit, never had a problem. :)

The majority of my sales are on Amazon, along with a few on GEMM. About the only problem I have is new? folk who do not understand that a 4/5 score on Amazon actually hurts the seller's feedback average, even though it is considered positive feedback.

For example, one customer recently left me this feedback: "Good CD. No complaints here from my part. my order arrived as I expected. Thank you." Yet I received a 4/5. Numerous attempts to contact the customer have met with no response. A bit frustrating.

Plus of course I mail EVERYTHING with Delivery Confirmation.

Amazon also recently started selling postage. That is, you can purchase and print your label directly through them, as you can through Ebay/Paypal. The postage cost is taken directly out of your Amazon profits. Cost is 7 cents per transaction and Delivery Confirmation is the same 19 cents that is offered through eBay/Paypal. Very convenient.
