With both feet firmly planted in the late ’80s hard rock era, Daytona aims to make a mark in the present as well. No nostalgia, no parody, just authenticity and pure passion for the music.

Daytona is not a project but a band with great ambitions and two key words: heart and craft.Fronted by the unique voice and talent of Fredrik Werner (Osukaru and Air Raid), Erik Heikne, well known musician from the band Miss Behaviour, Johan Berlin, previously with Eclipse and TimeScape, Niclas Lindblom, band mate of Erik in Miss Behaviour and drummer Calle Larsson are extremely ambitious and are working hard on the next steps for the band.

The love for the sound of late ’80s hard rock is the foundation of everything, and that’s where the journey begins, without adapting to Modern Rock. All the musicians in Daytona have extensive experience in the Rock World, but this new venture will be a unique challenge!

Daytona line-up:

Fredrik Werner – Vocals
Erik Heikne – Guitars
Johan Berlin – Keyboards
Niclas Lindblom – Bass guitar
Calle Larsson – Drums

Very authentic 80's sound. These guys have a few mega tracks with huge hooks in their catalogue, but sadly that's what I thought was missing on this one. Nice sound and "nice" songs, but no big really catchy tunes or stand-out tracks, imo.

I thought that this was their debut album? Are they same Daytona as years ago? I thought that band was Swiss.

Oh, lol, shit, yeah, it looks like it. Would've helped to read that above. Haha. Oh well, that explains a few things...

    • New song 'I Died Tonight'.
    • This one's a bit scrappy. 'Sexy in Japan' is actually a half decent tune, but I can't say I'll be returning to this one.

    • You could mount an argument that it's pretty safe, but more to the point, and more significantly, is it's bloody good. Lots of good to great songs on here. Plenty of keepers, but my fave is probably 'Fade Away.'
    • This is passable. Initially I thought they were trying too hard to be something like a new Guns N' Roses or something, even though there's no real actual comparisons, but as the album went on I didn't dislike what they were doing. Not something I'd really play again, but not too bad. 'Jar Of Dirt' was my favourite song.
    • Haha, the ending's good. I hate when it pointlessly drags on and you need to clip it yourself. How are you going with editing songs? When you say you removed the bridge and added a solo, did you use the Replace feature? Or did you do a completely new song with new prompts?  Man, I am struggling so hard with that Replace feature. Sometimes it works seamlessly, but try changing the lyrics in a pre-chorus or chorus and it just won't have a bar of it. Very frustrating when you have a melody you want to retain but you can't amend the song to your liking because the new feature doesn't play ball.  This is one I worked on recently and if you have a look and listen, the lyrics at the start of the pre-chorus don't match the song. I will actually (whether I like it or not) live with the lyrics in this version, because no matter how many times I try to get it to sing "The echo inside," it just won't do it. And "living inside" works okay anyway. And I like the tune too much to scrap it.  If you listen to the full track, check out the ripper guitar solo. I, uh, played, um... it, myself. Of course.   https://suno.com/song/e0591bf8-6721-46e3-ab8a-22f58b5bc719
    • Good album. I'd love it if someone could tell me who these guys remind me of, as in I thought I'd read the write-up and it'd explain that these guys went by another name a few years ago but they changed their name. I can't for the absolute balls of me think of the name of the band or even the name of the song, which was a huge melodic track highly regarded by most here. Album was good, but there was one real blinder. I don't even know how to go about trying to figure out who the band was. But man to christ, does it sound like this project. Plenty of good songs on this one - I really like it.  If I recall correctly the song had a similar vibe and maybe even title to 'Over You' by Shy, but a bit more uptempo and more well produced. Man I wish I could remember it... Grrr.
    • Pretty awesome EP. I think every song is really good, including the instrumental. The two tracks with the LeBrock dude are absolutely top notch - 'Cold as hell' and 'I want blood.'
