We are happy to announce 3 more of Thunder's studio albums will be reissued by BMG on October 20th on both vinyl & CD. For some it will be the first time they've been available on vinyl since their original release, and for others, it will be the first time ever.
As with the first 3 reissues, they will be expanded editions, with the original albums plus bonus tracks (rare, previously unreleased and/or deleted). In addition, the band have signed a limited number of artcards for each album/format, which will be available only on the Townsend Music Store, while stocks last.
The Thrill Of It All, Giving The Game Away and Shooting At The Sun reissues can be pre-ordered right now in bundles or separately at the link below:
Thanks,
The Thin Further Expanding One

The "rare" bonus tracks on all three are just live tracks.

There is already so much live stuff available by these guys that this seems somewhat pointless.

Still at least they are reasonably priced.

I bought the first three albums when they reissued them about a decade ago as the bonus discs were awesome.

These new reissues are just cash grabs.

Only good thing is if you collect vinyl as not sure most of their catalogue has been released in that format.

Just look at the difference between the 2009 and 2023 reissues of Backstreet symphony

Looks like these are the reissues from 15 years ago with the Donington 1990 set, which has been available in a variety of different releases. Only really worth getting if you dont own any Thunder albums or only own the bog standard versions.

Seems weird releasing this so soon after the recentish re-releases.

Yeah, there is a definite push on the re-releasing of their stuff this last wee while by them for some reason.

I wonder what control they have over the releases? That have promoted the BMG individual releases. The 2009 reissues were by original label, EMI. And this boxset seems weird being issued by Cherry Red. And I have not seen the bands social media promote it at all.

I wonder if the reason the BMG ones were lacking in the bonus tracks from the previous reissue was EMI holding onto the rights, but have now allowed Cherry Red to release them. I know EMI used to be the distributer for Cherry Red, so they may be more forthcoming with the material.
