  3. Just checking in and saw this thread......... About 2 or 3 yrs ago, I was with this girl who worked with the lead guitarist's (Rich's) wife. Very nice guy and a fine Rhode Island band. I had the pleasure of seeing them live at The Station in West Warwick & I've had the Tales From The Crib CD since then. A good CD, influenced by Warrant. If I'm not mistaken, Skyhigh supported Warrant or Jani Lane on a few dates outside of New England. A CD worth checking out. I contacted Rich a few months ago to see if he had more CDs available & he replied that they were all gone. He mentioned that Skyhigh is now under a new name and does mostly covers. Gotta say, I miss The Station, the RI scene hasn't been the same since. We have Lupo's in downtown Providence but that's not a big draw. Closest thing would be the Palladium in Worcester, MA. Cool thing about The Station was that you saw the same people at all the gigs, whether it was a big act or a local band, and there was never any trouble. Well, until that night.....I was supposed to see Great White that night but never went, lost some good friends that night.
  4. Just finished: a nice Accept comp I made up recently Now Playing: Pyramaze - Melancholy Beast On deck: Royal Hunt - Paper Blood

  7. When it 1st came out, I emailed Wild Cauldron because it was a "limited run" & I wanted to make sure they had it in stock before I sent them the money. 6 weeks or so later, I got an email saying they were sold out. From what I've read somewhere here in HH, you weren't the only one to send money & not get a CD. A shitty way to do business.
  8. Right now.....The Wiggles. That's what a 2 yr old will get you. I'm in the middle of Manowar - Hell On Earth Pt. 2 and Cheers (season 2) when the Wiggles aren't dominating the TV.
  9. Just took the Surrender reissue out for Saga - Worlds Apart. I've got Alice Cooper - Dirty Diamonds on deck.......
  10. Surrender - Better Later Than Never Leaves' Eyes - Vinland Saga L.A. Guns - Tales From The Strip
  11. Just got my copy today from Metal Mayhem, 2 days after ordering. This is an excellent reissue, other bands need to take notice because this is how its done. The music is killer, takes me back 15 years right away. I haven't found a bad song yet after a few spins. Definitely lives up to the hype. Cheers to the band & to the detectives right here at HH for getting this project together!
  12. I ordered my copy last night & Metal Mayhem mailed it same day......that's good service. Now I'll finally get to hear this without breaking the bank. Props to Ken & the guys from the band to reissue this so quickly.
  13. Just a quick update..... I emailed Kenny from Surrender and hear is his reply: <<<Hello Steve: The CD shipped from plant today, and should be available from www.metalmayhem(real close to you) in a day or two. You're welcome to pass that along to your buds, and our website, www.surrendertunes.com, should be launched tomorrow or the next day, for more info. Thanks so much for contacting me, and enjoy the music! Kenny Hamberg-SURRENDER>>> So AOR Heaven & Metal Mayhem are stocking this..... Steve
  14. AOR Heaven says that it expects the reissue next week.....can anyone confim this?

  17. For me, its all about the music. While my collection may not have all the rarities that are "highly collectible", my collection suits my tastes. I just buy what I like. I'm going out today to buy the new Iommi album because Tony Iommi's guitar & Glenn Hughes' voice is one helluva duo! If I get it home and it sucks, so be it....I'll just hope it was on sale, LOL! If I buy an album by a band and I enjoy it, I'll explore their back catalog and/or future releases. Music is made to be listened to and I listen to as much as I can. As far as the money aspect goes..... If I see something rare that I already have, or I see something that will fetch a couple of bucks, I'll pick it up and throw it on Ebay. It puts a little coin in my CD fund and it gets a CD to someone that wasn't as lucky as me to find a copy. If I walk into the CD shop tonite & see a copy of Oxido or Sgt. Roxx etc, I won't pass it up. I know they are rare finds & worth some bucks on Ebay but they will go in my stereo, fill my ears, & get put in their proper slot in my CD cabinets. To find an album of such rarity would be exciting. I don't go out of my way to find them and pass up something else more common or new. I'll blow that $100 and come away with a good order from The End, Music Buy Mail, or Sentinel Steel that I'll enjoy. I get more excited when I save money on CDs. Nothing is better than going to the shops on Saturday & Sunday mornings to grab all the CDs people brought in to get that extra drinking money for the weekend. Nothing beats getting 10 CDs for less than half price because someone needed money for beer. Or waiting a week for the people to return a new release because they don't like it.
  18. Within Temptation - Enter Judas Priest - Stained Class
  19. This was the playlist until everyone came home! Lacuna Coil - Comalies Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny Of Souls Jeff Scott Soto - Live at Queen Convention 2003 (2CD) The Gathering - Nighttime Birds
  20. Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls Much better than Maiden's Dance Of Death
  21. I had a problem with Sweden, more with the postal system than the trader. Sent some CDs and a month later they hadn't arrived. Sent a second batch and the 1st package arrived the same day as the 2nd. Luckily, the trader I dealt with sent me the 2nd package. Its true, there are good and bad in every country. Hell, I've had more problems in New England than anywhere else!
