  1. In the last couple of years I've been ordering from CD Inzane.com with no problems. Good selection, they usually have the lowest price and the shipping has always been reasonably priced and quick delivery. I've had no problems at all and I usually order once a month. CD Inzane had a Black Friday sale (30% off your entire order) between the hours of 7am Eastern - 12pm Eastern and I registered my account number. When I called, they told me to get everything in my cart ahead of time, sign in at 7am on the dot and checkout, this would be the best way to get as much on my list as I wanted. I overslept that AM and didn't place my order until 10:30 so I only got a couple of discs I wanted. I was late so no harm no foul. This past Saturday they had another 30% off sale so I registered again, set the alarm clock for 6:45 and had my order in by 7:01am. I specifically wanted to pick up the new Pagan's Mind - Live Equation 3 disc set so that was 1st in the cart. I check my status yesterday and it says that only 1 item (out of 6) was filled because "the order was later than most other orders" and it wasn't Pagan's Mind. I go to Ebay and check the CD Inzane auctions and there is the Pagan's Mind set for sale and the auction says "10 available". WTF? Like I said, haven't had a problem at all in the last couple of years but all of sudden I can't get a simple order filled during these special sales. I understand the Black Friday sale because I overslept but the Saturday sale I was printing my order confirmation 1 minute after the sale started. Either the volume is that high or there wasn't any product in the 1st place! Anyone here have similar problems or past problems?
  2. I wouldn't say that I "hide" purchases because my wife has access to the bank, the credit card accounts and my CD database.....it's tough when they know your passwords! I have the green light to buy things as long as the bills are paid, we save a little, and I don't go overboard. When we started out back in '97, I had a few hundred discs.....maybe 300 or 400. Now my collection has swelled to way over 3500 (an educated guess, could be more!) and it's obvious that I keep bringing home my precious treasures because of the growing pile on my desk and the need for more CD cases to store them. Unless its a Bon Jovi CD, she's not that interested anyway.....
  3. Haven't been around the board in a long while so it's good to be back..... I have Metal Moments all the time because all I wear is tour shirts. I just went to see KISS in Boston a couple weeks ago with my 10 yr. old daughter and my best friend, I wore my Saxon shirt from the 1999/2000 Metalhead Tour (saw Saxon with UDO at the infamous Station Nightclub here in RI) and my UFO hat from the You Are Here Tour. My daughter was wearing my old KISS Revenge Tour shirt. There were a ton of people who stopped us with either a horns up for the Saxon shirt or a "Schenker rules" for the UFO hat but the best one was when some guy comes up and asks my daughter what she thought of the Revenge Tour. He was dead serious too. My daughter was born 6 years after that tour! Another Metal Moment was when I saw the Anvil movie at a small theater in Providence at the end of May. I'm standing in the lobby with my orange Alice Cooper Halloween tour shirt from 2001 and quietly singing the entire Forged In Fire record to myself from my iPod. A group of 6 young kids, maybe 11-13, come in with one of their moms and they descend on me. Have I ever heard of Anvil? Wear did I get the Alice shirt? Have I seen any other Metal bands in concert? That last one was my favorite! I did what any self-respecting 37 yr old Metalhead would do.....with 20 mins before the movie, I gave the quickest Heavy Metal lesson with examples from my iPod. I went thru Anvil, to the NWOBHM, to the LA Glam scene and on and on. After the movie, the kids descended again for weblinks and band names to check out. Very cool to help out young people searching for good music!

  7. I just bought two CDs on Ebay that turned out to be Russian issues: Seller = dd_records WASP - Dominator (Demolition/Rockwrox Inc.) Akira Kajiyama & Joe Lynn Turner - Fire Without Flame (AOR Heaven/Mystic Empire) Both CD are sealed, the seller was located in Las Vegas, the prices were competitive, and the feedback was very good. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the auction did list the Russian label with the main label. I'm chalking it up as a lesson learned and I will have to do my homework from now on.
  8. Wow! That was a long read. I haven't really been around for a couple of months but, when I read about the Hurricane reissues on Bravewords.com, I knew where to go to find the details. I checked out Lonnie's site but didn't pre-order. Over the years I have learned the hard way about pre-orders so I figured I'd wait and see what the consensus was when the CDs arrived to other buyers. I have all the Hurricane releases on CD but the idea of acquiring bonus tracks, live material, and autographs was very enticing. Next day I read Melodicrock.com and Andrew's post about the reissues not being legit.....now this thread. Geez, what a set of events! I've never dealt with Lon, never traded with him, never bought anything from him. I don't know the guy. What I did know about him was that he was a respected member of this community. As I've gone through these last 25 pages, I've come to my own conclusion that it all boils down to greed. People's hard-earned money is missing from around the globe and Lon is the one with the immeadiate responsibility. Whether Lon was just a middleman or not makes no difference, when you get involved in any sort of business, you always take the time to know all the details. I just can't buy the excuses of not looking inside the shipping box for the finished product or not looking at the contracts. Hello! Common sense! With all the bootlegs and suspect reissues coming out more frequently, it really sucks to find out that one of your own was involved in such a scam. The only good that can come from this is a hard lesson learned and a smarter collecting community for it. If a fund is set up (as was mentioned by someone pages ago), I will gladly help out as well. Steve
  9. I almost put Powerslave as my top choice for nostalgia reasons but I had to go with Piece Of Mind. I started with Piece and worked my way back thru the catalog but I picked Powerslave up the day it came out. Add the tour and live album and Powerslave is basically what I remember from back in the day. Powerslave is my #2 and Number a close 3rd.
  10. It's an OK album, I don't reach for it much. I just went thru a major Night Ranger kick the last couple of weeks and I played every album over and over except this one. I played it once just to refresh my memory.

  16. Schoolboy Crush - Electric Playground Steeler - s/t Avalon - Eurasia Iron Maiden - Death On The Road
  17. Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love On deck: Riot - Fire Down Under
  18. Had to go w/Crue's debut. That's one that's powerful and raw. Killer tunes, probably Crue's best album IMO. 2nd place is a tie between Def Lep & Dokken.
  19. KISS is my favorite band. Why? I was 5 yrs old in 1977 & I remember seeing this bright colored square at some dept. store. Turned out to be Rock'n'Roll Over. I begged my mom for it (she remembers) and I walked out of there with it. Mom was cool, she put it on but I could've cared less, the picture was what I wanted. Ever since then I've been hooked. Image was awesome, I eventually listened to the music. Like them or not, KISS was HUGE in the mid to late 70s. In the 80s, it was Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, etc. If you were a band on the cover of Circus or Hit Parader, you were top of the ladder with the people I grew up with. I took a lot of crap (still do) for being into KISS when everyone was into Crue, Jovi, or GnR. The arguements I used to get into over which band was better (KISS vs. Crue) in middle school & high school were great because I would always use the fact that Crue opened for KISS. I remember going to the Theatre Of Pain & Girls, Girls, Girls concerts wearing my Animalize tour shirt! I was the only one into KISS & it was like my "badge of honor". Sounds corny! To this day, I'm at the record store first to get a new KISS album day of release.....even for the live albums, greatest hits, & box sets. I'm not going to use Gene & Paul's cliches but KISS is the reason I got into Rock, Metal, AOR, etc.
