  1. Good album, but it was released in 1973 same year as Billion Dollar Babies.
  2. I like that, as a melo-death band I wasn't expecting the clean vocals. Growls only work for me if they're offset by clean vocals as well. For instance I think the growls work really well with Epica and are fine with Amaranthe. However a full of album of growls with no offset becomes tiresome; so I never bothered to listen to their debut album, even though I liked what they were doing musically on the singles I'd heard previously.
  3. rock version of the song is alright, vocals remind me of Daughtry.
  4. Agreed. I struggle with Jake E's vocals, so glad Nils replaced him in Amaranthe.
  5. Lyrically speaking I hope this isn't Jon waxing poetic about how legendary he is after a 40 year career. Also don't sing about brushing your teeth and then repeat the word legendary over and over again. Musically speaking Jon has completely lost the plot so I'm guessing this will blow, everything is just so neutered sounding nowadays. It will also take a lot of studio magic to make that voice sound good, he never sounded worse in studio than on that terrible christmas song that was just released.
  6. ADV was the keyboard player on 43 albums last year alone. Unfortunately I don't think Vanden Plas are big enough to keep ADV busy enough to go away completely.
  7. never could stand Creed, and couldn't make it through more than a minute of that.
  8. The two new singles Root Of All Evil and Boogeyman Boogie sound alright, will check out the new album when it drops.
  9. The three albums Skid Row did with Bach are amongst my all time favorites; but outside of a few ok songs on Angel Down, neither Bach nor Skid Row have done anything I cared for since Bach was fired. This new song however sounds good and I'm liking it more than anything off the recent Skid Row album.
  10. 1. Lordi – Screem Writers Guild 2. Elvenking – Reader Of The Runes – Rapture 3. Kamelot – The Awakening 4. Crowne – Operation Phoenix 5. Hell In The Club – Fubar 6. Extreme - Six 7. Metallica – 72 Seasons 8. Overkill – Scorched 9. Eclipse – Megalomanium 10. Theocracy - Mosaic
  11. Q2 results (nothing much of interest to me for the remainder of June) 1. Lordi - Screem Writers Guild 2. Elvenking - Reader Of The Runes - Rapture 3. Kamelot - The Awakening 4. Crowne - Operation Phoenix 5. Extreme - Six 6. Metallica - 72 Seasons looking forward to upcoming releases from Eclipse and Hell In The Club.
  12. A few times through and I don't think this is gonna measure up to III Sides; but it's still a solid album nonetheless, the only song I'm struggling with at the moment is Hurricane. Still prefer Saudades at this point, will see how much this new one grows on me.
  13. After 7 years it looks like there should finally be a follow up to Ghost Ship. This was from a couple months ago so I'm guessing there should be some kind of announcement and single soon. It's too bad about Woods being scum and scamming people, I really liked his playing on the last couple albums. https://theocracymusic.com/ March 2, 2023 After a long wait, we are excited to finally break the silence with some exciting Theocracy news! Not only is the new album mastered and ready to roll, but we’ve signed with a new label for its release. We appreciate your patience, as we understand that it’s been a quiet couple of years from our end. The calm before the storm. While the album has been done for a while, it took time to weigh our options and decide which would be the best path for us going forward, as you might imagine. We were fortunate enough to have several good choices in the form of offers from multiple labels, and we’re all very excited about our ultimate decision. More info to come in the following weeks. At the same time, as many of you know, we have also been working behind the scenes to right the wrongs and restore the trust violated by the actions of a former band member. To those of you who have handled this wait with grace and understanding, we thank you sincerely. In closing, we want to thank Ulterium Records for a wonderful partnership. Not only was it a great working relationship for the last three albums, but we forged friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. A while back, Emil from Ulterium informed us that he needed to scale down his workload for the sake of his health and his family, so he was stepping away from bigger new releases. He said he wanted Theocracy to work with a label that is able to invest 100% of their time and energy into the band, and he was invaluable in helping us secure a deal with a label that we believe will do just that. So we extend a huge thank you to Ulterium, and to Emil in particular; he was vital in helping us maintain the level of quality we demanded across all of our releases, and together we released a catalog of work that we can all be proud of forever. Onward and upward!
  14. recently revisited the Metallica discography. Load/Reload are good albums as is but would elevate to a B if I combined the best songs from both. My apologies to those who are offended by my ratings of Kill'em All and Ride The Lightning. 72 Seasons is very good and receives a B. https://tiermaker.com/create/metallica-albums-6370
  15. I’m kinda surprised how much I am liking this entire album, even a couple of the singles I wasn’t keen on at first have grown on me. Fav tracks are Room Of Mirrors, Shadows Follow and Too Far Gone?.
  16. #Rebel is a good tune, I find it somewhat distracting on Banshee that the verses sound so much like Girls, Girls, Girls.
