Most people can't pick one favorite song, but I can, and this is it. Hard to explain why. When I first heard it I really didn't like it instantly. It grew on me fairly fast, and that coupled with the lyrics and video melded fairly well with where i was in my life at the time. Yeah similar story. I didn't like it initially. My bro and a cousin would play the song every single day and I would think what's so great about it. But I guess the tune just got stucked in my head and it kinda slowly started to grow on me. Now its a song I love dearly.

Bbmak!!...nice to see them here. I remember, back in the day I used to listen to their song 'back here' and 'out of my heart' a lot. Thanks to MTV.

Really great song from a pretty bad band. A banquet of choice from a class act, but for me today it was this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJmq5gfd6R8 Smoke & Mirrors is their best I think. There re some good ones in the album. The song Falling In is another fav.

My favourite Modern Hard Rock band is The Classic Crime. First two albums are essential. Third album was a bit hit and miss. Fourth one was a nice return to form. Fifth album is acoustic versions of previous material. Matt MacDonald, their lead singer, is one of my favourite songwriters. The man is a poet. Thanks...will check it out tonight.

Hats off to you Geoff! This thread is an extensive research on modern rock. Its indeed very informative. Grateful to you that I got introduced to great bands such as The New Shining, Silly Fools, Crashcarburn, Cauterize, Parachute Run Kid Run, Summerlin etc. Am yet to check out so many of them mentioned on this thread(don't think I will be able to cover all). Could you please suggest names of bands along the lines of the bands that I have mentioned. Thanks.

Initially "That's..." was in my top 5. But it's probably 1:40-to 1:53 longer than what I'd wished for. I get your point. Not just this song but the entire album songs except track 1 are lengthy. I really don't have an issue a song being quite long if the song structure is made in that way. But yes, not even a single song in this album is at 3 mins rang which to me is quite unusual. -

My favourites so far are - the beautifully composed 'That's when I ll stop loving you', melodic bliss 'Underneath the stars' & 'Take me back', and 'Save me tonight' is just as good. Rest of the album is good with 'Runaway' and 'Last Kiss' being my least favourites. I think the album is definitely a grower. -

Its a great album. Couple of songs I didn't enjoy that much. As one of you pointed out, it does have a modern touch in some songs but scarcely. Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think - Bruno Ravel project with Marcello Vestry or The Defiants? Which is better? -
My favourite hard rock album of all time. And all my bridges are burning' is my pick. Still listen to the song to this day. Absolutely brilliant!

Thanks Geoff. Red Eyes is a true gem.

Geoff, you discovered a spectacular treasure! Haha in the end it was worth the hassle and worth every penny, wasn't it? This is the kind of mordern rock I so love. What a beautiful song 'Long Distance' is. Can listen to it all day long.
