  1. Art and packing fantastic IMO! As for the album, I think overall I just like the more melodic type approach this time around. It feels like there are a lot of harmonies, backing vocals, big choruses, etc.....For me, stuff like Give Me A Reason and When We Were Young are just perfect TD songs. I really think When We Were Young might just be my favorite TD song ever done. Don't get me wrong though...I like the variety on this album as well. There's some great rockers and the ballad is also done really well. Overall, I'd say the variety in the songs just mixed with everything being more melodic is what separates this album from the last release that was just more straight ahead rock IMO. And also have to say Chas sounds great and think he fit's perfectly. One thing I really like on this album is that I think he sings without "over-singing". I think D Reece at times sorta oversang stuff by carrying out notes or whatever and I didn't always care for that. I think Chas hits things perfectly and it sorta lets the melodies and guitars stand out a little more. Sorry if this makes no sense....Kinda hard to explain LOL. It's just a solid effort and hope they do another release with Chas in the future and keep the more melodic formula.
  2. Agree on Anything for You....It had potential but the lyrics are really cliche/cheesy. It's pretty much the same thing I'd say about the last song Straight From The Heart...Although that one is way too long also. They should've either ended with 10 songs or found another up tempo song to end with. On the flip side though, the album has really grown on me and I'd probably rate a few songs higher than I did in an earlier post. I think I'd bump up Survive, You and Before I Walk Alone a bit. I really like this album and the vocals aren't bothering me at all. It's working it's way into my top 5 for 2016. Haha, no mate, definitely not. I have gone through some particularly harsh ratings with recent modern rock albums with plenty of sub 5 scores. You take the lyrics out of 'Anything for you' and you've got a solid ballad on your hands. The only thing I just hate about it is the lyrics... that's it. Otherwise it'd be a solid ballad. Haha, not quite the huge NR fan you are, mate. That's a nice, strong album, especially for it's time... but yeah, I'd probably reach for this before that one in the future. Fact is, it's mostly a 75% type album until the trio of 'Passion Play,' 'When You Close Your Eyes, ' and 'Chippin' Away,' which are the only songs on the album I rate higher than 7.5/10.
  3. Another song released. For me, this song is better than the first one but not sure that says much since I didn't like the first one much at all.
  4. Have been through this disc multiple times and some of the initial luster has worn off...Still quite a bit on it I like but also some pretty cheesy stuff I could do without... 01. In N' out of Love 7.5 (It's okay...wish it had a little more edge) 02. First Cruzh 9.5 ( Like this one....Good, commercial tune) 03. Aim for the Head 10 (Probably my second favorite song on the album....Like this tune) 04. Anything for You 6 (Don't really care for this too much....It's okay but I've been skipping it) 05. Survive 9 (Like the groove in this song) 06. Stay 6 (Another one I don't care for. It's slightly better than the first ballad but the cheese it high in this one) 07. Hard to Get 10 (Like this one a lot...In my top 3 songs on this album) 08. You 7.5 (It's okay...Like the harmonies but song doesn't really soar like I would've wanted) 09. Set Me Free 10 (Favorite tune on the album....Good stuff) 10. Before I Walk Alone 7.5 (Another okay song...Doesn't really stand out though and could take it or leave it) 11. Straight from My Heart 5.5 (About the same as the other ballads....Wish the ended the album with another stronger rocker instead of this). Total: 80% There's a few songs I really like on this album....A few I don't care for and the rest are sorta in between. Overall though, there's some good stuff and it's a pretty good debut album that shows some potential. I hope they sorta stick to the slightly heavier side of their stuff moving forward and get away from the cheesy ballads that seem to really bring the album down a bit.
  5. Saw Station for the first time last night....Awesome show and got to chat with Pat and Chris a bit...Great guys! They are planning to hit the studio in the fall and want album #2 out by mid 2017. They've been playing some new songs in their live shows and I've really liked what I've heard. Will have the next album high on my watch list
  6. Agree on the vocals...my only complaint if I had one and probably why I'll keep it behind the Defiants, Treat and Nordic Union in my rankings. But I do really like it and it's still all put together really well IMO. I think a fair comparison would probably be to something like the Art Nation album...and I'm liking it more than that. That's probably too early to call it no 1, it's a little bit 'bubble-gummy' - too sweet maybe that might wear off after 5-6 spins, slightly accented vocal, and perhaps not highly skilled as Defiants or other bands, but an entertaining and enjoyable album indeed. Based on my first spin, definitely worth some big score and worth a purchase, maybe a top 10 contender, at least top 15 is reserved for them.
  7. Got this CD in the mail today and only been through it once....It's probably too early to really have an opinion.... But for me this album is just fantastic. Is it a bit cheesy and maybe a bit over-produced at times...Yes. But do I care....No The album is just full of hooks, harmonies and riffs and is just one of those "ear-candy" type albums that has a feel good, throwback type sound sorta like the Defiants. I'm not sure yet if it'll surpass the Defiants as that album might just be my favorite this year....But it's a pretty darn solid debut album. I found one other review and would say I pretty much agree with this: http://www.woodysrockreviews.co.uk/album-reviews/cruzhcruzh
  8. New song sadly not doing much for me. I thought it started out great in the opening and was looking for the song to soar....But it kinda lulled me to sleep. I just keep waiting for these guys to do some new music in the style of their first couple releases but it just doesn't seem to happen....at least for me. I'd need to hear much better to get me to buy this album.
  9. awesome!!!!! Thanks so much for the kind and honest mini review. Look fwd to your thoughts once youve digested it more. JK Have been through it a couple times now and have to say I'm liking it quite a bit. I love that there is more variety in the song structures this time around as it keeps the album more interesting IMO. The songs that are standing out for me are Punching Bag, Give Me A Reason, Edge Of Goodbye and my favorite song is probably When We Were Young. I really like the harmonies and vibe of that song and that should be a single of some sort IMO. Bullet proof, Carry On and Going Under all sound pretty good too and bring some "rock" to the album. And I like the sound of Anything Can Change as well. About the only song I'm really not feeling is Superstar...Not sure why.....Just not doing much for me and kinda plods along. Also not sure on the last song Broken Heart yet...I kinda only half listened to it because I wanted to skip back to some other songs I'm not sure if it's my favorite Tango Down album as I really loved Identity Crisis....Songs like Alone, Blame, Corners Of My Mind, Enlighten Me and Back to Life were all just awesome. However, there were 3 songs on IC I didn't care for (Dream Child, Calling Out, Magic Pudding) so Bullet Proof for me may just be more solid from top to bottom. Overall, I really like the more melodic side of Tango Down and this album delivers on that end with good use of backing vocals, great guitar work and variety in song structures. Thumbs up
  10. Just got this CD in the mail today...Only about half way through it so can't really say too much yet....But initial impression is good. Chas sounds great on vocals and what I've listened to so far is more melodic than what I thought their last album was and the album has a feel more like the Identity Crisis album to me (which is a good thing as Charming Devil didn't too resonate all that well with me after loving IC). I dig the first song (Punching Bag) that was released and so far my favorite song is the second song on the disc called Give Me A Reason. Will report back after I've had a chance to check it all out and let it sink in but off to a good start.
  11. Another song released...I think I'm going to like this album
  12. Agree...typical Bon Jovi lead single. I think it's probably as good as anything they've done on the past couple albums. Let's see if the rest of the album is full of sappy ballads and mid tempo plodders like the last few albums. I just can't seem to get excited about anything this band does anymore.
  13. Have an eye on this.... Liked these guys first couple albums with their debut album probably being one of the best complete "whim" purchases I made back in the day.... However, they lost my attention when Vaughn left in the 90's and I've never really went back to them. I didn't care for their most recent album much at all. I'll give this one a fair chance though.
  14. They dropped another song from the upcoming album.....Not sure if this is exactly the same as the version in the first post as I had never listened to that. Album is off to a pretty good start to my ears.
  15. Been watching for some initial impressions....Positive sounding review.... http://heavyparadise.blogspot.com/2016/07/review-cruzh-cruzh-2016.html Back in 2013 in my daily 'surfing' on You Tube, I 'crushed' upon a superb song of pure Melodic Rock bliss with the title "In A Blink Of An Eye". The band was called CruSh. I searched on the internet to find more info about this so cool band but unfortunately I didn't find anything. The band kept a mystery around itself. I achieved to interview the band's bass player (read the interview here) and so I found a couple of interesting things about CruSh's history. But no names!!! Time passed by and nowadays, and after the change of the band's name to Cruzh, with a strong record deal with Frontiers Record the long awaited debut record is finally a reality. Cruzh consists of Dennis Butabi Borg on bass, Anton Joensson on guitars and Tony Andersson on lead vocals and keyboards and their mission is to play solid melodic rock stuff with an 80's vibe in it that will please each and every single fan of this particular scene. Cruzh was raised up with bands such as Def Leppard, TOTO, Journey, Bon Jovi and these kinda of acts and that's a thing that reflects in each song here. The melodies are big, the vocals are passionate, the guitars are 'crunchy' and generally everything here is pure melodic rock heaven. I would describe this debut as edgy AOR with attitude. "In N' Out Of Love" that opens this debut is simply breathtaking. A smooth melodic gem with a huge chorus line and harmonies straight out of heaven! With "First Cruzh" you are gonna fall in love with these guys while in "Aim For The Head" we have another killer Scandi-AOR hymn full of grandiose melodies, superb arrangements and an 80's feeling!!! "Survive", "Hard To Get" and the Def Leppard-ish "You" are all three excellent samples of Cruzh's music. Super catchy, in-your-face and melodic as it gets!! "Set Me Free" is one of the album's highlights!! A fast-paced rocker that grabs you at once and makes you wanna turn the volume on maximum volume. Stunning!!! Closing my review, I will repeat myself by saying that Cruzh's debut is super catchy, in-your-face and melodic as it gets!!! A killer melodic rock album that set the nominate for the best debut of 2016 and why not for the album of the year!! Rating : 9,5/10 Track Listing : In N' Out Of Love First Cruzh Aim For The Head Anything For You Survive Stay Hard To Get You Set Me Free Before I Walk Alone Straight From My Heart
  16. I was wondering how Tango Down would sound after replacing David Reece.... I loved Identity Crisis but really was a little let down with Charming Devil. I'm not sure why exactly...just didn't think there were as many harmonies and big choruses...tough to put a finger on it...not really sure. Anyways, Chas sounds great and I honestly like this new tune more than any song on Charming Devil...cool harmonies, great riffs...and some good hooks....this tune falls right in line with my favorites from Identity Crisis (Blame, Alone. Enlighten Me, Back to Life, etc). Really interested to hear the rest of the album.
  17. Kinding liking the sound of these guys....
  18. Has anybody bought this? Just wondering how it is. I like these guys and like listening to live stuff...but not really feeling a desire to buy this. I think it's mostly that they just haven't struck me as a great live band....even though I've never seen them.
  19. Still sounding pretty decent to me....Always tough to tell from just snippets. Think it'll at least be worth keeping an eye on and giving a chance.
  20. Yeah...tune is a grower. And I'm getting over the name more once I realized it's actually just "Crush". I may need to hear another song or two but this might be a purchase. I do like the sound of "Survive" from the EPK also.
  21. Saw this released on Frontier's FB page. I'm not sure what I think of this yet. The music sounds decent on first listen and the Def Leppard reference get's my attention....but I personally think it's a terrible band name and terrible song title and it's clouding my judgement a bit. NEW SONG & VIDEO ALERT: Attention all fans of AOR, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Y&T, Night Ranger, '80s hard rock and the like...please meet Sweden's Cruzh Official and their debut single, "First Cruzh" from the upcoming self-titled debut album! Turn this one up LOUD and ENJOY! And when you're done, listen again! CRUZH is out August 26th and can be pre-ordered on iTunes here:http://radi.al/CruzhiTunes (iTunes pre-orders come with an instant download of "First Cruzh".)
  22. Agree. War On Love should have made the album, and is tied for favorite song with Take Me For A Ride. "War On Love" is everyone's favourite, but I think "Don't Stop" slays it, and the rest of the album, save "Fire in the Pouring Rain." I'm with you...Prefer Don't Stop. But War On Love is pretty good too. Album is really growing on me the more I listen. I really like it all except for Look Out and possibly Wildlife. Glad somebody brought this up....Nice little diversion even though I was 5 years late But the question we all have is how does it compare to H.e.a.t? ;} Hey...I've been doing really well with no H.e.a.t comparisons lately

  24. Shame they left the bonus tracks off the main album. Why couldn't they have picked Look Out! or Wildlife as the bonus tracks? They're both good tracks though and definitely enhance the CD with them added. Agree. War On Love should have made the album, and is tied for favorite song with Take Me For A Ride. "War On Love" is everyone's favourite, but I think "Don't Stop" slays it, and the rest of the album, save "Fire in the Pouring Rain."
