  1. Ten - Ten Great debut album and still their finest album. Liked Nelson, Journey, Molly Hatchet, Rush as well!!!
  2. NIGHT Of Passion - The Poodles
  3. One Step To Hell - Toyz (From 'House Of Cards') The album is a little patchy if truth be told, but my ears pricked up when this came on half way through. The best track on the album by a mile - Good strong chorus, nice Keys and simple but effective guitar solo!!!
  4. Toyz - House Of Cards Def Leppard - Yeah! Bonus EP. (Cheers Lonnie ) Manfred Mann's Earth Band - World Of Mann (2 CD) Got this one purely for the second disc, featuring the best of Manfred Mann's Earth Band (the first disc is just the best of Manfred Mann's 60's stuff which I don't like one jot). I have always loved 'Blinded By The Light', 'Davy's On The Road Again', 'For You', 'The Runner' but have never had them on CD - For £4 - a steal
  5. Toyz - House Of Cards Glenn Hughes - Music For The Divine Am really starting to really rate this one. A great eclectic mix of stuff on here. One of his best discs in a while. House Of Lords - World Upside Down Balance - In For The Count
  6. ALL We Are - Kim Mitchell
  7. Good shout on the VERTIGO Jez. The drums totally spoil it, & I'm sick & tired of Zee Grossi's sloppy production efforts. A good producer will get the best out of a vocalist, but he manages to make a great vocalist sound mediocre again (see ROBIN BECK, KELLY HANSEN, MICKEY THOMAS, JAMES CHRISTIAN for further examples). A slightly liter album than the first VERTIGO - which I LOVED - & is not quite as good IMO... This mornings playlist: VERTIGO II PRIDE OF LIONS - Live in Belgium (GREAT stuff. Wonder if AOR FREAKY was in the crowd?? ) SHOTGUN SYMPHONY - S/T (Amazing CD) Just been talking to Wotty about Vertigo as he is waiting for his copy. I described it as a Factory Line, Toto wannabee AOR album to go along with all the others (Mecca, Ambition etc etc) that have been churned out over the last few years. That's not to say it's bad (or some of the others) 'cos it isn't, just something not there. Listen to Toto if you want to hear how it's done properly!!!Production wise as well. 'Falling In Between' wasn't a huge budget album. Agree with you whole heartedly re. Zee Grossi's production techniques - Thought the Mickey Thomas was a real let down for such an awesome vocalist, James Christian was pretty good, but would have been a whole lot better in the hands of someone else, Same with Robin Beck and the first Vertigo. What is it nowadays with drum sounds. Can no one get a decent BIG sound anymore like they used to??? Mr.Grossi certainly can't!!! The Pride Of Lions Live disc is pretty good - The bonus disc finishes it off nicely. Will have to dig out my Shotgun Symphony -S/T as I haven't spun it in a while. I played the excellent 'Sea Of Desire' the other day - Love that as well!!!
  8. Show Me What You Got - Witness (From 'Witness') A HUGE song, with a HUGE Brad Gillis solo, from a HUGE album.
  9. Vertigo - II Liked the debut, but it didn't exactly set my world on fire. 'II' for me is stronger songwise, but again features that Fabio V.Zee Grossi production job that I don't particularly like (especially the drums on this one). Joseph Williams sounds excellent though. Over all another good, competent AOR album, but yet another one that lacks that killer 'Something'??? (where have we heard that before on recent AOR discs) Harlow - S/T Saraya - S/T Witness - S/T
  10. MINE All Mine - Van Halen
  11. Black Light - Glenn Hughes (From 'Music For The Divine')
  12. Don't RAIN On My Parade - Lee Aaron
  13. Vertigo - II Pride Of Lions - Live In Belgium Glenn Hughes - Music For The Devine Frank Stallone - S/T This is a really good one if 80's Westcoast is your thing (which it is for me). This goes for silly money (way too much for me anyways) so have always had to make do with a copy of it. Didn't know if this was going to be a CD-R or not, but took a chance on it for $12. It arrived (in 4 days) this morning and I am pleased too report that it is the real deal on his own Simba record label - Remastered as well, so I am very happy indeed with this one. TIM (2) - One for you to try (if you haven't already).
  14. Vertigo - II Pride Of Lions - Live In Belgium Glenn Hughes - Music For The Devine Frank Stallone - S/T
  15. Love All his stuff right from the debut to his latest 'My Own Best Enemy'. Some of it is quite lite, so may well not appeal to the masses here, but no denying the talent of the man. Definately should be allowed on the HH pages as well, considering some of the other Liter artists are here!!!!!
  16. Alice Cooper - Trash Jeff Scott Soto - Prism Defcon - S/T
  17. More Than A Million Times - Autograph (From 'Loud And Clear')
  18. Autograph - Loud And Clear (Rock Candy Re-issue) Another cracking release from THE best re-issue label around. Played the old and new back to back and the Rock Candy version breathes new life into this very fine disc.
  19. Journey - Escape Journey - Generations Autograph - Loud And Clear (Rock Candy Re-issue)
  20. Lots of patchy discs amongst this lot, so am a little undecided. Toto's - Tambu has lots of good moments as does Foreigner's Mr Moonlight and Kansas's - Freaks Of Nature, but the overall best of the list consistency wise is:: The Storm - Eye Of The Storm
  21. Journey - Arrival & Escape Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime I & II Alice Cooper - Hey Stoopid Just warming up for tomorrows Monsters Of Rock festival. Can't wait.!!!
  22. TIM I would say that '3' is a really good disc and would advise you to definately get that one. I like 'Category 5' and 'O2' ,but they do have a fair amount of filler on board. People raved about 'Prime Time' but I couldn't see what the fuss was about at all and is probably my least fave Firehouse album. You definately have the best ones in the first 2 albums - 'Hold Your Fire' is a fab disc!!!
  23. I'll See You In My Dreams - Giant
