In the beginning
Back in nineteen fifty-five
Man didn't know about the Salad rule
And all that jive
The white man had some French
The black man had none to use
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Hidden Valley had the news
They said -
"Let there be lettuce", and there was lettuce
"Let there be cress", and there was cress
"Let there be tomatoes", and there was tomatoes
"Let there be clery", and there was clery
"Let there be RANCH"
And it came to pass
That a Great flavour was born
All across the land every grocery man
Was selling up a storm
The Dressing got famous
And Hidden Valley got rich
And in every where there was a salad bar
With a seven year itch
There were fifteen million forks
Shoveling salads away
And you could hear the people eating
And this is what they had to say
"Let there be lettuce"
"cress"
"tomatoes"
"clery"
"Let there be RANCH"
One night in a diner called `The Salad Land'
That had ninety-two different brands
The Ranch was good and the chewing was loud
And the Waiter turned and he said to the crowd -
"Let there be RANCH"
There's just no topping that, so I won't even try. I will now move on to paraphrasing famous movie quotes.
"Joey, do you like movies about ranch?"

I personally picked Primal Fear though their put-outs have been rather perfunctory of late...I prefer The Poor, Prong, and possibly Piledriver, but none of those were pickable for the purposes of this poll.
Alliterative showoff.

Hot poppin' Pluto, we have come to the "P"s. Lotsa good choices fer yer polling pleazure. Plenty of quality bands got left off, so feel to write-in if you don't see your personal favorite listed.
I gave my vote to Petra. One of my all-time favorite Christian rock bands. "This Means War," "On Fire," and especially "Beyond Belief" all hold special places in my hard rockin' heart.
OK, your turn...who gives you the most listening pleasure?

Not a big fan of the band, but I'd rather listen to them than poison my gut with that swill in a bottle...

SAW IV (Unrated Director's Cut)
I'm a huge fan of the Saw series and while this is good, it's a minor step down from the previous installments. Of course, with Jigsaw dead at the end of SAW III (sorry if I just spoiled it for anyone, but if you haven't seen #3 yet, shame on you) it was almost unavoidable for the latest entry to not measure up. Still, Jigsaw does make appearances (mainly via flashbacks) and the traps, while a little less over-the-top than #3, are still brutally vicious and the gore is plentiful, so a lot of what makes a Saw movie a Saw movie is still present. I know some fans are clamoring for this horror series to end, but I for one am still enjoying the bloody hell (pun intended) out of it and hope they churn out at least a few more.

Heaven is a ranch I know so well
It makes me feel good when I feel like hell
Heaven is some ranch that I've got to have
And ranch makes me feel better when I'm feelin' bad
-
Let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get ranched
Let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get ranched
Let's go all the way, get ranch night and day
C'mon, let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get ranched
-
Here I am, I bought the wrong ranch again
It's just a game I just can't win
There it is, drippin' soft on my skin
Still it won't let me in
Why save your ranchin' for a rainy day
Baby let the moment take your ranch away
Have you ever needed some ranch so bad, yeah
Have you ever wanted some ranch
You just couldn't have
Did you ever try so hard
That your world just fell apart
Have you ever needed some ranch so bad
And you're the ranch I gotta have
I gotta have you, ranch

Oh...ohhh....OHHHHHHHHHH! Here's the "O"s, folks. Pretty shitty letter if you ask me. Write-ins, as always, welcome.
I voted for Ozzy. Not really a big fan, but off this entire list, he's the only one I own. Uh, let me clarify that--I don't actually own Ozzy, but I do own one of his CDs. Yep, just one. And yet I still gave himy my vote, because "O" is such an abysmal letter.
But enough about what I think of "O"...what's your picks?
-
And I KNOW when the poll for favorite O Bands gets posted we BOTH gonna pick Overkill......
Who says Overkill will even be an option on the "O" poll?
-
Hey, but are you ranchin' it?
Really ranchin' it?
Come get ranch from me
Gimme all of your ranch - ev'ry little bit
Gimme all that you got - ev'ry bit of it
Ev'ry bit of your ranch - oh, c'mon live a bit
Never want the ranch to stop
Yeah, but are you ranchin' it? - Armaranchin' it!
Oh, really ranchin' it? - Yes, Armaranchin' it!
-
Ranch up! Gather round
Ranch this place to the ground
Ranch it up, let's go for broke
Watch the ranch go up in smoke
Ranch on! Ranch on!
Drive me crazier
No serenade, no fire brigade
Jus the Ranchomania
What do you want?
I want ranch 'n' roll, yes I do
Long live ranch 'n' roll
Ranch of ages, ranch of ages
Still yummy, oh so yummy
Ranch of ages, ranch of ages
Still yummy, ranch is yummy
We got the ranch, got the glory
Just say you need ranch and if you need ranch
Say yeah!

It's gonna be a long cold winter

Pour some ranch on meeeeeee...

Na-na-na-na...hey-hey...here's the "N"s. Write-ins welcome and all that blah-blah-blah.
My vote went to Nouveaux, the best Def Leppard clones the Christian rock realm ever produced.
And your pick would be...??
-
MACHINE HEAD aren't there? They'd have got my vote, after having the best album of last year (IMO of course).
They were originally part of the poll, but when I had to narrow it down to 20 choices, I scratched them off, because I figured you'd be the only one who would vote for 'em.
Their last album really hasn't grabbed me despite multiple listens...I never bother reaching for it anymore. Too busy listening to accessibly-sissified bands like Bullet For My Valentine.

TNA's Angelina Love aka Angel Williams
Just for the record, I can do that with my hair.
I think photographic proof is required to back up this claim...
-
Mmmmmmm...here are the "M"s. It should go without saying by now, but I'll say it anyway--write ins are welcome, because trying to please all people all the time is an exercise in futility.
I gave my vote to Metallica. "St. Anger" aside, I like pretty much everything they've ever done, up to and including "Reload." Yeah, I said it, and I am not ashamed.
OK, your turn...who ya like?

DEATH SENTENCE (Unrated)
The few scenes inserted into this movie to make it "unrated" don't really add much to it, but that doesn't change the fact that this is one of the best revenge films of all time. Superbly & stylishly directed by James Wan (Saw), expertly acted by Kevin Bacon as the grieving/vigilante father, and packed with brutally bloody violence, this was one of my favorite flicks of 2007 and revisiting it on DVD, it has lost none of its impact.

OK, since I was one of the ones who voiced my displeasure at the Spanish posts taking over the Comments Section, I thought it only fair that I go back and post there now that it has reverted to English-only. However, I was under the impression that we now had 1000 words for our comments, yet when I posted my comments for Jaded Reign, it only displayed the first 500 I wrote. Has this "1000 characters" function been activated yet, or are we still limited to 500?
Senor Dan, help me, por favor. (Sorry, couldn't resist.
)
The number of allowed characters is actually a sliding scale from 500 to 1000 based on an evaluation of your previous comments, and how much value to the community they are.
Note to self: make minimum lower....
Ouch. That's harsh.
Hey, did I tell you that I finally scraped enough spare cash together to buy one CD and I decided to buy Crazy Lixx: "Loud Minority" instead of Rockarma: "Bring it!"?
Oh that's very nice... I am very sad now.
You started it.
