Cool, thanks for the info! The MP3s I have for are unlabelled, but I'm 99% sure that's what I have. The sound quality is poor but I wonder if that's more the quality of the MP3's than the album itself.
It's worth noting that the original masters weren't saved after they were pressed to vinyl. The 1999 CD is a vinyl-to-CD transfer that the band put together for charity. It's been filtered a bit. It doesn't sound great but I've heard worse.
If you're mp3s sound really bad, maybe you found bad vinyl rip from somebody else. If you could post one, I could compare it to what I got.

I lived in the Detroit area in the '80s, and as a local band they got plenty of airplay.
This one was probably their most popular (and my favorite):
-
Speaking of Ratt, I still hear them singing, "I knew right from the beginning that you would not win it". It was long after the song came out that I discovered the actual line.
In Billy Idol's "Blue Highway", I thought "Wait for love to crash on my highway" was "Wave hello to Christ on my highway."
I used to think Nickelback was singing "Are we having fun yet? Nyet, nyet, no, no".

The strength of liquid i have (1.6mg) is supposed to be close to what i've been used to but i think it's stronger. I actually got a head rush from only a few drags for the first few days which was really pleasant. Before i knew it i'd gone a week on the E-Cig and it started to feel natural.
The differences in dosages concerns me a bit. I'm thinking of trying the lozenges to get the right amount of nicotine and a nicotine-free e-cig if I can find one.
I told myself I quit at 40 too, but 5 years later I still haven't. At this age I'm starting to think about things like lung cancer and other risks. This will probably be the year I do it.

1. Sherbs - The Skill
2. The Rockets - No Ballads
3. Bob Seger - Against the Wind

I gave up three and a half weeks ago by switching to an E-Cigarette after smoking for 25 years. I don't really have a problem with smoking or smokers it just became too much of a pain to be one
I've given some serious thought to trying those. But there seems to be so many types and options available with them. I wouldn't know where to start.
You've been a smoker for as long I have. Is it an easy switch to make?
-
Very nice. Yeah, sounds like a mix of Skillet and Hinder. I must check this one out. Is the EP from this year?
It's a 3-song EP from 2012 I only just discovered. The other two tracks are good too.
Oh dear, so they're broken up now I assume?
Based on what I've read on their Facebook page, it looks like they're done.

Smokers. And I could end my post there, because I hate them all and think they should be banished to another country just designated for smokers, or even better, another planet. Just send them all up in the solar system to smoke their fucking cigarettes around each other and they can all blow in each others faces all day long.
Sorry dudes, I know this will probably offend half of you because they're everywhere, but I can't stand this habit. But my post wasn't as simple as that. There were two particular instances I was going to note:
1. Fuckwits who smoke anywhere near their own children. Stupid fucks should never have even considered having kids if their shitty fucking habit is that important to them. If you can't quit for the sake of your own child, then just drown yourself in a water fountain and leave your kid in the care of someone who isn't going to be shoving that shit into their lungs from the moment they're born.
2. Smoking in your car. Are these fucking filthy c*nts serious? I want to run all of these filthy c*nts into a ditch and let them burn every time I see one of them. Sure, people have bad habits, such as, say, for example, masturbating and drinking alcohol. But do you see these people spraying semen all over their car seats, or pouring beer all through their car? I've never seen it. But that's basically what these filthy c*nts are doing - putting that shitty fucking stench into every fibre of that vehicle and rendering it unbearable to any other human being.
Haha, I know this may sound harsh, and I know we all have bad habits, but I have never been able to get past smoking. It's a c*nt of a habit that annoys non-smokers because it affects non-smokers. Like I said, if they all got shipped off to their own planet I'd never care about it ever again, but the fact that they're amongst us every day of our lives, pushing their shitty habit upon us... I just wish they'd perish.
As a smoker, I'm not at all offended by this. I'm aware my bad habit can be annoying to others. It's why I never smoke anywhere near other people. At home, I smoke only out on my deck. I have no neighbors, so no chance of bothering anyone there. And I smoke in my car. But when in my car, I won't smoke if people are next to me in traffic and I never have one lit while in a drive-through.
Oh, and I always use an ashtray. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who toss their cigarette butts on the ground or out of their car windows. Especially annoying are the morons who do that while driving through the forest.

This may sound weird, but I'm really irritated by hard rock and metal bands that fade out their songs at the end. Music like that needs a big finish.
Take classics like AC/DC's "Back in Black" or Metallica's "Enter Sandman", for example. Why the hell couldn't they finish them? I mean, they still had to come up with an ending to play it live. Do the same thing in the studio. That type of thing is ok for Pop and Dance tracks since it makes it easy for a DJ to crossfade from one track to the next. But not for hard rock or metal.
The ones that really mess with my head are the ones that fade out and end on a note at the same time like Sammy Hagar's "Can't Get Loose" or Bad Company's "Burnin' Up".

I bought Dynamite From Nighmareland only for "Brother's Eyes" and was disappointed because the rest of the tracks sounded like filler.

18 Visions had a great ballad called 'Broken Hearted'. Can't believe it's nearly 10 years old!
BTW some nice selections Grey.
This one's really good. I'd never heard of the song, or even the band.
I still have to check out the rest of the lists. Lots to listen to here.

Art of Dying - Everything
One of my favourite songs of 2015 so far. Absolutely love it. Shame the rest of the EP is pretty much throwaway modern rock / nu-metal.
Agreed on both points. Shame, since their last CD was good.
-
I love Modern Rock ballads. Anyone else?. Anyone got any good non-mainstream ones they like? I'm pretty much familiar with everything from bands like Nickelback, Hinder and Daughtry.
Here's a few random favorites from recent years:
Shallow Side - Crazy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srSkou3Hj6M
Falter - Burdens
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pb97Q6jjP8
Art of Dying - Everything

Great White - Once Bitten Twice Shy. It's far from their best song and it's not even their own song. It's overplayed and I'm tired of hearing it
-
A few more than haven't been mentioned:
Little Caesar - S/T
Kingdom Come- S/T
Jackyl- S/T
Slaughter - Stick it to Ya
-
One clear winner for me: Molly Hatchet - The Deed is Done
-
What if Steel Pather had good lyrics?
That would be weird. At the moment they have brilliant lyrics and are thus a brilliant band. It'd be weird if they just had boring "good" lyrics and were just another hard rock band.
Ha yeah I knew that would be an unpopular statement, but for me it's true...I can't get past the lyrics on their albums.
I thought I was alone around here with that opinion. I love the music but the lyrics make me cringe. It turns them from a legit rock band into a woman-repelling novelty.
-
At one point, Molly Hatchet had zero original members. Dave Hlubek has since returned, but it's still not the same band to me.
I don't even want to talk about Great White.
-
I like Hevisaurus. I probably wouldn't listen to them if I could understand the lyrics since they're aimed at children.
Established bands you've liked better after a change of singer
