  1. Yeah, put you head in the sand like a kangaroo......I mean ostrich. And shut up... Like KarpetMuncher said, the search feature can be tricky sometimes.
  2. Not to be confused with the US band Melidian. 'The 4th Dimension' out September 23 through from The Vaults Records. Press release: Let’s go back to the 80s. Back then, there was no style boundaries. You were either into heavy metal rock or you were not. Bands like Scorpions, Pretty Maids, W.A.S.P. or TNT gathered a legion of loyal fans around them looking for the thrill of screaming guitars and epic melodies. More than fans, we were family. The heavy rock family. Many bands have, since then, tried to capture the feeling of those days. Many have failed miserably, but others have succeeded to give us a glimpse of that golden era. Among the latter, Danish collective MERIDIA N is one of the most brilliant. They’ve been shaping their sound in three studio albums since 2013 and even in an unapologetic covers EP where they showed their diversity of influences. But now it’s time for a whole different ball game. Enter “The 4th Dimension”.As with many quintessential albums, the latest studio offering from the Danish five-piece comes, musically, with a wide variety of songs, from real heavy numbers (“The Road Back To Hell”, “Warning Shots”) to really melodic hard rock songs (from which “Say That You Want Me” is a perfect example). Not forgetting epic songs (“Dreamers”) and fast tracks like “Remove Your Crown”. As in the 80s, no boundaries, no overthinking. “The attitude was ‘Everything is possible and anything goes’”, guitarist Marco Angioni comments about the writing process. “If a song is good and we all like it, it goes on the album”. Again, an attitude that screams “80s” from the top of its lungs.Produced, mixed and mastered by Angioni (a renown producer himself, with bands such as Tygers Of Pan Tang, Steel Inferno and Iron Fire in his resume) and recorded in Angioni Studios between October 2021 and January 2022, “The 4th Dimension” is one of those career-defining albums in which Meridian reaches full maturity and shoot for the stars. Tracks: 1. Warning Shots 2. Life Is Today 3. Stay 4. Follow Your Heart 5. Trust 6. Dreamers 7. Say That You Want Me 8. The Road Back To Hell 9. Remove Your Crown 10. The Fourth Dimension Marco Angioni - Guitars Peter Bruun - Bass Klaus Skjoldborg Agerbo- Drums Lars Märker - Guitars, Vocals Martin Jepsen Andersen - Guitars (lead) facebook
  3. New lyric video for 'Saints & Sinners'.
  4. 'Volume 1' out October 21st. From Escape Music: ‘Turkish Delights Volume One’ celebrates the absolute joy that Escape Music co-owner Khalil Turk has for the kind of music he loves so much and has spent the last thirty and then some years championing. Indeed, his enthusiasm for a new band or a new song today is no different from when I first met him in the mid ‘80’s. I lost count of the number of phone calls he made to me when I was working for ‘Kerrang!’ magazine, where he would excitedly tell me ‘Dave, you just have to listen to this! It’s brilliant! You’ll love it!’ before playing me something over the phone – new and often obscure - he had picked up on his international record buying trips. Nine and a half times out of ten he’d be right!! Khalil’s quality control has been such that the record label he co-founded with fellow melodic rock enthusiast Barrie Kirtley in 1995 remains reliably and solidly in place all these years later. Escape continues to deliver monthly doses of quality hard rock, melodic rock and AOR to a very devoted following. Khalil had first entered the music business in the early ‘90’s, effectively as a talent scout for the German owned Long Island label. However, after the company folded, Turk felt that, rather than look at opportunities with other labels, he had the enthusiasm and now had rather more knowledge of the inner workings of the music business to put something together himself alongside the equally enthusiastic and astute Kirtley. We’ve seen hundreds of solid album releases from a huge variety of acts (including AXE, Steve Walsh (Kansas), John Elefante (Kansas), Lonerider, Shadowman, Alliance, Pinnacle Point, Mass, Heartland, Grand Illusion, Overland, Last Autumn’s Dream, Punky Meadows, ColdSpell, Chris Ousey, Ozone and Touch, to name just a few) as well as reissues (from Aviator, Sugarcreek, Jon Butcher Axis, Franke And The Knockouts, FM, Tantrum and Surrender, Zon, Hanover Fist etc) ever since. So here we are, over twenty five years since that first Escape Music album appeared hot off the presses (Heartland’s ‘III’ album in November 1995, if you’re asking) and this collection of songs, personally chosen by Khalil, reiterates that pure joy he still possesses for the music he is utterly immersed by. With material from the pens of Steve Overland (FM), Chris Ousey (Heartland), Steve Morris (Export/Ian Gillan/Heartland), Mick Devine (Seven), Steve Newman (Newman/Compass) and Tommy Denander (Radioactive) there’s also a list of musicians culled from Khalil’s contact book that, quite frankly, is VERY impressive. Just a few names appearing on ‘Turkish Delights’ to throw at you include Ronnie Platt (Kansas), Billy Greer (Streets/Kansas), Billy Sheehan (Talas/David Lee Roth/Mr Big), Gary Pihl (Sammy Hagar/Boston/Alliance), Gene Black (Device), Jeff Pilson (Dokken), Jeff Scott Soto, Chris Childs (Thunder), Mike Slamer (City Boy/ Streets/Seventh Keys/Steelhouse Lane) Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake/Joel Hoekstra’s 13), Mark Mangold (American Tears/Touch/ Drive, She Said), Mark Stanway (Magnum), Mat Sinner (Sinner), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake/Journey), Ricky Phillips (The Babys/Bad English/Styx), Robin Beck, Robin Mc Auley (Grand Prix/MSG), James Christian (House Of Lords) Steve Overland (FM), Jerome Mazza (Pinnacle Point/solo), Terry Brock (Strangeways) and Vince DiCola (‘Transformers’/Thread/Storming Heaven). This is a cast of thousands. Well, it at least appears that way! It’s a very interesting package and, as Khalil would surely say, you’ll love it! Dave Reynolds August 2022 The Musicians are: Ronnie Platt: Lead vocals (Kansas) Billy Greer: Lead vocals (Kansas/Seventh Keys/Streets) Jeff Scott Soto: Lead and backing vocals (Talisman/Yngwie Malmsteen/Trans Siberian Orchestra) Robin McAuley: Lead and backing vocals (Michael Schenker Group/Grand Prix/solo artist) Chris Ousey: Lead vocals and Backing vocals (Heartland/Ousey-Mann/Virginia Wolf)) Jerome Mazza: vocals (Pinnacle Point/Steve Walsh) James Christian: Lead and backing vocals (House Of Lords) Terry Brock: Lead vocals (Strangeways/Kansas) Lee Small: Lead and backing vocals (Phenomena/Lioneheart/Shy) Mick Devine: Lead and Backing vocals (Devine Intervention/7/solo artist) Ronnie Romero: Lead and backing vocals (Rainbow/Michael Schenker Group) Tony Harnell: Lead vocals and backing vocals (TNT/Westworld/Starbreaker/Morning Wood) Steve Overland: Lead and backing vocals (Lonerider/FM/solo artist) Robin Beck: Backing vocals (solo artist) Matt Sinner: Bass (Primal Fear/Sinner) Joel Hoekstra: Guitars (Whitesnake/ Trans Siberian Orchestra/13) Mike Slamer: Guitars (City Boy/Streets/Seventh Key/Steelhouse Lane) Jeff Pilson: Bass (Foreigner) Gary Pihl: Guitars (Sammy Hagar/Boston) Steve Morris: Keyboards (Heartland/Lonerider) Gene Black: Lead Guitars (Tina Turner/Rod Stewart/Device) Billy Sheehan: Bass (Mr Big/The Flood/Talas) Tracy Ferrie: Bass (Stryper/Boston) Ricky Phillips: Bass (Baby’s/Styx/Bad English) Rocky Newton: Bass (Michael Schenker Group/Lionheart) Josh Devine: Drums (One Direction/Levara/Devine Intervention) Takeaki Itoh: Bass (Pinnacle Point) Jim Kirkpatrick: Slide guitar (FM/The Flood/Bernie Marsden Band) Chris Childs: Bass (Thunder/Lonerider) Steve Mann: Keyboards (Michael Schenker Group/Lionheart/Ousey/Mann) Vince DiCola: Keyboards (Rocky4/Staying Alive/Transformers/Storming Heaven) Mark Mangold: Keyboards (Touch/American Tears/Drive She Said) Alessandro Del Vecchio: Keyboards (Revolution Saints/Edge Of Forever/Hardline) Stevie D: Lead guitar Marco Mendoza: Bass (Whitesnake/Thin Lizzy/Journey) Jimmy Nicholas: B3 (Faith Hill/Kenny Loggins/Van Zant/Jim Peterik/Juice Newton) Tommy Denander: Guitars and keyboards (Radioactive/Steve Walsh/Robert Hart)) Brain J Anthony: Bass (Steve Walsh/Lonerider/Robert Heart/ Robbie LeBlanc) Brian Tichy: Drums (Whitesnake/Dead Daisies/ Foreigner) Mark Stanway: Keyboards (Magnum/Grand Slam) Robin Beck: Backing vocals (solo artist) Nikolo Kotzev: Lead guitars (Brazen Abbot/Robin Gibb) Fredrik Folkare: Guitars (Unleashed/Heartwind) Mikael Rosengren: Keyboards (Heartwind) Steve Newman: Guitars/keys/backing vocals (Newman/Compass) Eric Ragno: Keyboards (Baby’s/Joe LynnTurner) Fredrik Bergh: Keyboards (Talk Of Town/Bloodbound) Michael Lange: Drums Tracks: 1. 6. Press release: In Ancient Greece, the Alchemists, whose symbol was the Caduceus of Hermes, used to create alloys by mixing mostly Mercury with different metal elements. A mixture like that was called "Amalgama". That was the inspiration behind the title of our 3rd album, describing our endeavour to adequately mix all the "metal elements" each of the new members of the band had brought and blend them with the Hard and Sleaze Rock legacy of Cyanide 4, undoubtedly creating the 'natural evolution' of Nekyia! So, behold..."AmaΛgamA"! Cyanide 4 is a Hard Rock/Glam Metal band formed in Athens, Greece back in 2008 mixing their influences varying from the Los Angeles’ 80s glam era to the new rock ‘n’ roll wave of Scandinavian bands of our days. The band, quickly built a strong fan-base in Greece and abroad by releasing 2 albums by Perris Records (USA) and doing many live shows, both headlining and as a support act to acclaimed artists, like the Scorpions, Bonfire, W.A.S.P., Lizzy Borden, Crashdiet, Over The Rainbow, Ten, etc. G.A. 11. From MelodicRock Classics: LaMarca is the brainchild of soul singer Abe Lamarca, who began his singing career in the 1970s, before moving to Los Angeles singing demos and working for songwriters before Scottie Bros/CBS Records released his debut album "LaMarca". It was a solo endeavor that found this soul lover singing some catchy pop songs, a few of which made it to the big screen, most notably, ‘Hold on Blue Eyes’ from the movie ‘The Wraith’ starring Charlie Sheen. He devoted most of the 90's to raising his kids in Cleveland and singing radio jingles and T.V. commercials. Abe has continued singing and writing music ever since and most recently in 2018, continuing to flex a little bit of his "Soul Survivor" swag, Abe enjoyed a Top 20 Smooth Jazz hit with Anne Cochran with his bouncy "Who's Gonna Baby You?" co-written by Mark Avsec (Wild Cherry, Donnie Iris). His latest single, the sultry "Back in My Natural Groove" released March of 2022 and co-written by Rochon Westmoreland, is currently receiving airplay worldwide on various Smooth Jazz platforms. But for now, it is time for AOR aficionados to enjoy a freshly remastered reissue of the classic LaMarca release, complete with the two extra soundtrack cuts as well as an extended mix of ‘Burn The Bridge’ and a newly unearthed solo demo ‘Voice Of The Young’, which was intended for a second LaMarca release that never happened. Abe LaMarca comments; “I'm humbled and honored by the tremendous efforts of Andrew McNeice and MRC Records on this re-issue of the LaMarca album! It was a fun and exciting time for me back then and its very cool now to know that so many people still love and appreciate this music! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart! 16. New video for 'Stone Cold'. From Frontiers: Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of the upcoming self-titled debut album from Sweden's Grand. Grand was formed in 2020 in the southern outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden. Vocalist Mattias Olofsson had always nurtured a dream of releasing his own AOR project one day. Working for almost two decades as a professional singer and songwriter, he kept experimenting with ideas and writing songs, just waiting for the right moment. In the fall of 2020, the stars finally aligned, when he came to know two fellow musicians who shared his passion for the AOR genre: guitarist and producer Jakob Svensson (Wigelius) and drummer Anton Martinez Matz. The trio joined forces soon after and Grand became a reality. Through a combination of old and new ideas, all with influences from their favorite bands such as Starship, Foreigner, Mr. Big, Giant, and the like, four songs were finalized that the band felt best represented who they wanted to be. They started to send the songs to different labels and in 2021, they signed with Frontiers Music Srl, the leading purveyor of quality melodic rock. Grand continues a long tradition of spectacular AOR bands emerging from Sweden. Lovers of all things melodic rock will surely need to add "Grand" to their must-listen list for 2022! Tracklisting: 1. Caroline 2. Stone Cold 3. Make It Grand 4. The Price We Pay 5. Johnny On The Spot 6. Those Were The Days 7. Once In A Blue Moon 8. Too Late 9. After We’ve Said Goodbye 10. Ready When You Are 11.
