  3. Press release: Swedish AOR Melodic Rock outfit PETER ROXX, featuring members Of Mean Streak, Engel, Gathering Of Kings have released their new single 'Hero'. Peter Roxx (Peter Andersson) is a songwriter and musician based in Skövde Sweden. Besides writing music and lyrics Peter also plays bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals. Peter has been in many bands over the years (AXIA, NIVA, Mean Streak) to name a few. The idea when Peter Roxx was launched was to have full creative freedom to do exactly what He wanted within His musical sphere. After taking the decision to put the band Mean Streak to rest in 2021 past the covid-19 pandemic Peter felt the urge to explore a more melodic side to His music. Growing up with bands such as Journey, Bryan Adams Thin Lizzy etc He felt the time was right to expand His musical frames and leave the traditional Heavy Metal behind for now. In September 2021 Peter reached out to long time friend and musical partner Thomas ”Plec” Johansson. The first recording session took place in November 2021 in Crehate Studios Gothenburg Sweden. Two tracks, Hero and Still Believe was recorded. Studio owner and drummer Oscar Nilsson (Engel, Hank Von Helvete) handled the drums and Plec the production and guitars. Peter did the bass and the lead vocals (and the backing vocals together with Plec). In March 2022 three additional songs (Alive, Angel Of Mercy and Are You The One) was recorded with the same people in the same studio. Keyboards was added by Victor Olson (Gathering of Kings, Saffire) PETER ROXX is: Peter Roxx – lead vocals, bass, background vocals Thomas 'Plec' Johansson – guitars, background vocals Oscar Nilsson – drums and percussion Victor Olsson – keyboards

  7. From Frontiers: Frontiers Records is proud to present “Everlasting”, the brand new studio album from Mecca, the classic band founded by vocalist Joe Vana. ”Everlasting” is the first new Mecca album since 2016 and sees Vana returning to the classic AOR style he is known, admired, and loved for. When he was only 13 years old, Joe Vana’s life was forever changed through a chance meeting with Survivor’s Jim Peterik. Jim taught him everything he knew about music and the music business. But, it wasn’t until he was 28 years old that he discovered his voice, which is when he became Peterik’s in-house demo singer for many years. Joe and Jim eventually created a band called Project Voyager, which ultimately morphed into Mecca. In 2002, Mecca released their debut self-titled album, which featured David Hungate (ex-Toto) on bass, Shannon Forrest on drums, Fergie Frederiksen (ex-Toto) and Joe on vocals, Mike Aquino on guitars and Jimmy Nichols on keyboards. “Mecca” created a sonic treasure that was more than well-received by the Melodic Rock/AOR community. Fans had a nine year wait for the follow-up album, but it was worth it. Titled “Undeniable” (2011), it saw Vana working with Swedish guitarist Christian Wolff and producer/songwriter/guitarist Tommy Denander. The results were again breathtaking, an album which perfectly melded the outstanding high-tech AOR approach of Mr. Mister’s “Welcome to the Real World” to the sheer commercial brilliance of Toto’s “The Seventh One”. In 2016, the “III” album finally saw the light of day, a record that would have topped AOR charts back in the glory days of the genre. The list of players involved is impressive: Shannon Forrest (Toto), Pat Mastelotto (Mr Mister, King Crimson), David Hungate (ex-Toto), Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel), Mike Aquino (Pride of Lions), Christian Wolff and Joe’s son Joey on guitar. In Toto’s Steve Lukather words: ”Killer new music! Great songs! Great playing from everyone … and Joe’s vocals are better than ever! Smooth, real and soulful. I love the ‘surprise modulations’ that are now his style which make this a great listen for fans of his and the entire genre of melodic rock music. Creative arrangements throughout and I love the synth/keyboard work. David Hungate is amazing as is Shannon Forrest on drums and production. Great sounds and killer guitars all over it! Can’t say which track is my fave yet, cause I love all of them. Summing it up in 3 words: Well f***ing done!” Please join us in welcoming Mr. Joe Vana and Mecca back with their glorious new album, ”Everlasting”! Tracklist And Now The Magic Is Gone The Rules Of The Heart I Won’t Walk Away The Mistakes We Make These Times Are For Heroes Your Walls Are Crumbling Down Everlasting Falling Endless Day Living In Fear Your Way
  8. From MelodicRock Classics: Lineup: Bob Hayman – Guitar, Vocals John Powell – Lead Vocals, Drums Tom Mgrdichian – Keyboards, Vocals MelodicRock Classics is honoured to partner with cult classic 80s high-tech AOR band THE KOO for a long-awaited remaster of their classic 1985 LP, which was briefly released on CD in 1988. Restoring the original LP artwork as well as the original running order was top of priorities for the label and the band. As is always the case with MRC releases, audio guru JK Northrup has lovingly remastered the audio, as taken from the original CD release. Bob Hayman comments: “The album was originally released on LP and cassette in 1985 and the analog masters are no longer in existence. The original release was only 10 tracks. In 1988 we released the CD with 2 additional tracks, “Got To Get Together” and “Runaway”. Thank you for your interest in reissuing The Koo. 9. From MelodicRock Classics: MelodicRock Classics is excited to team up with one of hard rock's premiere voices – the great JOHN WEST. John has an extensive resume that dates back to the late 80s, yet his emergence as one of hard rock's go to vocalists didn't come until the mid-90s. Fronting such legendary bands as Royal Hunt, Artension and Sun Red Sun, as well as delivering several solo records, his unmistakable and powerful vocals founded a solid following of fans. This album also features 3x Grammy winning producer/songwriter, keyboardist Lonnie Park. This collection of early works, some of which were released on cassette only under his own name and the group name Destiny were all recorded between 1988 and 1991. The lineup for these tracks was: John West - Lead Vocals, Guitars Lonnie Park - Keyboards, Backing Vocals Ian Budha - Drums, Backing Vocals Billy Ray Gunn - Bass, Backing Vocals John West: “My plan was never to end up as a journeyman lead singer. I was a band guy, and even more so - a band of friend's guy. I assembled a group of friends and players to form Destiny with Ian and Billy, after our days in Adam/West together. Here you will find the Destiny four song cassette that we released and sold at shows. You will also find the six songs from my first solo release. In addition, we have some demos to throw in for you music lovers. Not perfect, but perfectly ready to be heard by the world! Enjoy -and thanks to all involved in my formative years and beyond. What a career, and all based on plan B.” Lonnie Park: “When I first saw John and Ian play I was 17 years old and instantly became a fan of them both. When they started the band Destiny and invited me to join, I jumped at the chance. It was also the beginning of a lifelong brotherhood. These recordings take me back to being a hungry but clueless kid learning how to record, write, perform, a lot about the business, and discipline.” Billy Ray Gun: “I'm truly honored to grow up as one of John West's best friends and I'll always have a profound appreciation for everyone in this band - seriously some of the greatest years of my life. PLAY IT LOUD!” Ian Budha: “At the age of 17 I was fortunate enough to cross paths with John who saw something in my playing and took me under his wings. Just a couple of kids with big dreams, drive and determination to be successful in the music business. The culmination being these 13 songs we recorded in our band called Destiny. Unfortunately, we came up just a little short in our quest but this was the bedrock we all stood upon to launch our music careers.” MRC will release JOHN WEST – Days Of Destiny on March 24. 10. New album 'The Story So Far 1993-2023' featuring the new single 'Slam' out April 28th through Yellow Muffin Records. Sounds great! 17 years ago, the melodic rockers HOTWIRE, who were quite an institution in the local scene in the 90s, parted ways. HOTWIRE was founded in 1993 and they quickly gained a solid fan base in Melodic Rock circles, also through numerous shows with bands such as BONFIRE, JADED HEART or CRYSTAL BALL. In 2001 they were even on a big European tour with SHAKRA and DOMAIN. Later they went on tour with PRETTY MAIDS. In 1995, BONFIRE members Claus Lessmann and Hans Ziller took HOTWIRE under their wing and produced their self-titled debut album. The album ‘Face Another Day’ followed three years later. During the recordings for the EP ‘Middle Of Nowhere’ in 2001, the band parted ways with original singer Michael Werner and Andy Urbeck taking over the microphone. In 2006 followed the last HOTWIRE album ‘Devil In Disguise’ produced by ex-BONFIRE Chris Lausmann. Shortly thereafter they separated. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the band in 2013, there was a first small live reunion with the almost original line-up. Now in 2023, the original members Michael Werner (vocals) and Tom Glas (drums) want to do it all over again. For the comeback they are presenting a best of album with a new song (Slam!) and two newly recorded fan and band faves. The other twelve classic songs have been remastered. If you haven’t known HOTWIRE yet, you can now do so!!!
