Well, I can say that Lonnie has finally re-opened the lines of communication with me (still unclear as to why they broke down in the first place). That, along with his attempts to refund those who he owes money to, is at least a step in the right direction.

good, I hope everyone gets their money back, but if he asks for more preorder money for his Journey - Escape "reissue" I would CLOSE those lines of communication quickly....lol....

So there I was, driving home from work, when a cop pulled me over and said, "I clocked you doing 48 in a 30 mile per hour zone. Care to explain yourself?"

 

Thinking quickly, I replied, "The Ramirez brothers made me do it."

 

I then sat there for 10 minutes while the officer wrote me a ticket. Oh well, it was worth a try...

This was the dumbest scam I have ever heard of, but it was still as scam, punishable by law.....basically he is argueing as to what degree he was involved..... everything lonnie said was total crap, he had numerous posts saying he talked with jay and kelly, and had lined up all those other reissues....and now he blames it on the evil Ramirez brothers.....give me a friggin break! I didn't lose one penny either, but I just can't sit here and listen to him spout bullshit, and expect us to buy it....no way!!!

I hope everyone gets their hard earned cash back that these guys swindled, I really do.... but even if they come up with every penny, they still pulled a major con buy making up this fake label, every band that they were talking about seems to know nothing about this, so again it would be great if all you guys got your cash back, but the crime has still been committed, they should still pay the price for this, which should be jail time and major fines, along with restitution......

I agree JL, to me whether the accident is true, doesn't really matter, the fact is that all the reissue talk is just a big fat lie, I mean his famed Hurricane reissues that he was always talking about, obviously are horseshit, according to mike who talked with Jay, who also confirmed with Kelly Hansen, so everything else may or maynot be true, he should have named his label, NEVER GET YOUR SHIT RECORDS! lol....

I just wonder why nobody here shared there suspicions about this before. Now that alot of people here got screwed, it seems like some people had an idea somthing wasn't right but didn't want to share. Just curious.

Because they would have been shredded like ecoli-laced Taco Bell lettuce. I like to think I'm a fairly respected member of this community, but I had a bad dealing with Lonnie last month but knew that if I dared to say anything negative about him, I would be taken to task for daring to disparage him. Until yesterday, talking bad about Lonnie was the equivalent of calling Mother Theresa a syphilis-ridden, take-it-up-the-ass whore.

Exactly Mark! I thought many times of revealing the strange things I had encountered with Lonnie, but by the way everyone would just fall apart with the reports of his supposed health problems, I knew better....think back, he had atleast 2 big health problems in the past few months, then would reappear in fine shape....things like that seemed to always bother me..also, it is apparent he would disappear after making deals with alot of folks, I just thought it was me.....but without absolute proof of wrong doing or illegal activity, myself and others could not just start slandering him....and really, would anyone on this board have listened anyway? seems to me he was the local hero that went bad.....

Also, something else to note about the RnR Records website...if you look around on it, you'll find NO contact info of any kind. NO email address, NO mailing address, NOTHING. The only thing there is the automated Pay Pal process set-up to take in the $$$

I looked through his reissues but quite honestly I had everything he was reissuing so I had no interest in buying from him, although I would have been leary to start any deal with him again......but I agree with mike, if I had indeed been interested in getting his cd's I would have waited until I got all the great reports of how great his stuff was.......I always avoid preorders....

Strangely enough...Manny Comres has..or had...adresses in Arkansas.....and, to my knowledge still has arkcds?? Or Wolf something or other....

I remember lonnie back when I first started on ebay over 8 years ago.....he had a small shop on Gemm, I think he still does....back then he was advertising the then hyper rare cd's Black N blue (all of their stuff), lillian axe, and others that are now not that hard to get, but back then were incredibly rare.....he had multiples listed on gemm for $25 each or something, which at the time was a killer buy as the black n blue's alone were well over $100, but when I tried to buy from him he quickly disappreared and pulled the ads off of gemm.....the last dealing I had with lonnie was 6 months ago, he was peddling some rare cd's he claimed a friend of his had for sale, someone going through a divorce and wanted a quick turnaround on the discs....he offered me 2 rock boulevards, sgt. roxx, theatre...and some others....but when I started asking more details he quickly disappeared, and never talked to me again....seems he just sold these same discs to adriano, I wish I would have said something but I really had no proof of wrong doing, just a strange way of dealing, and an annoying habit of starting deals then disappearing.........

Jim is right, some of us would be on a plane to Arkansas, although if this is actually a scam, he should be long gone unless someone can catch him counting his cash on the way to the plane.....

Question.... some of you 'collectors' have been in this business longer than me. Back in the early days of ebay weren't there a few shysters from the Florida area (or wherever) who ripped off a number of people?

Dan, unfortunately I suspect that is a fraud, I am very worried...I just filed a complaint through Paypal, I will escalate it to a claim...but I really don´t know what I will do...I had $1,000 in my Paypal account and sent all the money to Lonnie´s account, of course I trusted him...not only for the Hurricane material...also to get some other rare cds...

My thoughts exactly Danny, you and I have talked about Lonnie at length, looks like we had him pegged... I just emailed adriano to see if it was lonnie who he was getting those cd's from, as he offered those to me awhile back, claimed to have 2 rock boulevards, 1 sealed, sgt roxx and many others, but when I asked for him to send the cd's first, he quit talking to me at all, I have always wondered about lon, but never really had any evidence, just seemingly shady behavior, and he never really came through with anything he said he would, although we did complete some minor trades, craaaaazzzzy!

From my perspective silver pressings are easier to move than cd-r's even if they are directly from the band...I voted yes as I know I could sell 100 silver pressed cd's myself,...so all sam would have to do is move 900...lol...have you all heard this cd? it is killer in my opinion...seriously though, all by my little self I have sold over 100 sister sky cd's, probably 50 uncle sam , 30 de ja vu , 75 mae west , 30 sacked out sherry , 50 street wise , 50 Shotz, 40 Gun Hill Road, 30 Wildside - sheet music, 25 Tambora, 25 snakepit, and probably others I cannot even think of right now, that is not counting all the singles I find , but I always sell out of my stock, now my stock are originals not reissues, but the Lorraine cd is virtually non existant other than the few that were pressed, (yes I have one in my collection), and keep in mind I don't sell my cd's for $15, my stuff is usually the last a band has in stock so I usually move them for $30 and up to as much as $400 depending on the scarcity of a particular release, ....but I ALWAYS sell out eventually....the total above is 500+ cd's I have sold just in my little part of the selling world, now I did not sell these over night but I think it is very possible to sell 1000, 500 to me would not even be a question....especially if you are sending bunches to other online distributers, that is my take on it.....Michael

yeah....I fell victim to badluck313, I have now blocked him, so I won't have to deal with him again, also my current headache is Sean Kaufman, (you know, mr. PLEASE REPLY NOW), get this, he made me an offer on one of my demos, and since I hadn't had any offers on that one, I took his offer of $35, and once you take a best offer that is submitted through ebay, it is like a bid and a winning auction, it is a done deal, but as soon as the offer was accepted he started sending me a barrage of emails asking if I would take $25 for it, I tried explaning to him that he made the offer and I took it, so it was binding, but he kept sending me emails asking who they sound like, before he paid he wanted to know more about them....?????? this idiot was actually telling me after winning the auction he did not want to pay for it until I told him more, and if he did not like what I said he would not take the tape......????? crazy stuff....my final email to him was to let him know I did not want any more emails from him, only payment, but if no payment was made I would report him to ebay, file a claim for my fees to be returned and leave negative feedback, his final email to me was to tell me his dad was a lawyer and "he handles guys like me", lol.........sometimes it is best just to give up and move on, If I want to talk to a potted plant I got plenty around me to talk to.....lol.....all that is left to do is file my complaints and leave neg feedback, I figured I would give him the week to pay.....needless to say he is blocked now....
