This makes me sad. Not a great direction from one of my favourite bands. It's the bit of 80s sound I hated.

Exact same for me! I really don't know what it was about that last Eclipse album but the songs just didn't do it for me for some reason. It's hard to say why as I don't really think their formula changed all that much....I guess the songs just weren't catchy and/or memorable. I'd say the same that it probably was my least favorite Eclipse album. Oddly though I loved Wired and that album would be among my favorite Eclipse albums. Overall though, I've really liked most of what they've put out...although I was a bit lukewarm on Paradigm too. Anyways, I've really like all the new songs so far. I feel like they have more of a Wired mixed with Monumentum vibe to them and I've found myself humming all these tunes in my head. Looking forward to this one dropping later this week and so far the few reviews I've seen have all been favorable. I ordered a Japan copy that comes in a jewel case since I hate digipacks with a passion lol so hopefully will have it a day or two early to dive into!

I thought their name was OggLong. Apparently its OddLand. -
It reminded me a lot of WeMoveForward until 2 minutes in when the beat dropped. I don't dislike it, but it might take some time to grow on me. They recently hinted on Twitter that the next album will be in the vein of Lonely City, which is one of my least favorite songs of theirs, so I'm not optimistic...

I like the Survivor cover, but I agree with some of the other sentiments about the album being "over-sung". It's like they're perpetually trying to push things to 11. It's good musically and sonically, but it's is if the air is always being sucked out of the room.
