Further Proof The Grammy Awards Are A Sham...

As if Jethro Tull’s ludicrous win for Best Heavy Metal Album in 1989 didn’t prove conclusively that the Grammy Awards are nothing more than a sham, these three awards in consecutive years solidify that fact.

 

Best New Artist:

 

Year – 1977 – Winner: Starland Vocal Band (fluke hit single sung by what sounded like a group of hillbillies complete with cretinous grammatical errors)

 

Nominated: Boston

 

 

Year – 1978 – Winner: Debby Boone (uh, yeah – what a lengthy career she had)

 

Nominated: Foreigner

 

 

Year – 1979 – Winner: A Taste Of Honey (doesn’t everyone remember their 1 hit – Boogie Oogie Oogie? The Academy would like everyone to believe that the black chick plunking away aimlessly on the Les Paul is a better guitarist than Steve Lukather and Elliot Easton)

 

Nominated: Toto, The Cars
