I'm getting concerned the Whitesnake is outscoring the Aerosmith. Cummon, I can't be the only one to vote Perm Vac.
-
Wow , what a selection and there's more than that lot.
Gone Aerosmith. Could easily by G'n'R or Def Leppard as well.

According to one of the bidders who won some of his stuff, the guy's name and address are:
Jeff McLauchlin
5880 Stacy trail
Stacym, MN 55079 USA
probably a fake name but seems to me the address would have to be right if he expected to get any cash in the mail....just thought I would pass this along....the buyer who told me this was one of the guys who was bidding like crazy on his stuff and got the name and address when ebay emailed him on where to send the money..apparently he did not send the cash as he figured it was a scam..not sure why he was bidding in the first place...what I think is funny is the sgt. roxx alone went for over $200 now he is willing to take only $100 for it....lol.....
Michael
Somebody should tell the CIA there's a terrorist cell at that address. That should sort the problem in a couple of minutes.
-
Well, I'm not the most shy person in the world, so I went ahead and just called him out on it. I also warned the two people who bid on his rare cd's. Hope they pull out.............
JL
Anybody round here bid and then not pay?
-
Wouldn't touch it with somebody elses bargepole. Somebody just happens to be selling a load of extreemly rare stuff as the first thing s/he sells. How on earth did they come across all this stuff? Just happened to rifle through their collection and found they had a few rarities?

Got myself some cheap sunglasses. Now if I could only get some Tush.

Did anyone actually try to email it? Is it even a valid address? Moron.com? I know there are some goofy sites out there, but with email capability?
Still pretty damn funny that they would try (and pathetic if someone would fall for it).
Read the bottom line and blush...
I guess the fact that I didn't throw in the "standard" smilie means that I fell for it as well. What a boob!
Though I am curious as to which "last line" you mean that was supposed to clue me in. I guess maybe I AM said boob.

Yep...total dumb ass...ban this jerk
Worrying a large number of people are taken in. Enough to make it worth their while.

So you've stolen our bowling coach back. He coaches my baby brother and does a great job by all accounts to I'm gutted.
With Warnie and McGrath approaching the enevitable , we really have to look to the future and quickly so Lee has some support otherwise we will still make alot of runs but will have more scored against us .
I still think Dennis Lillee was the man they needed
Lillie had a big falling out. Perhaps he fancies a few years in Sunny England?

Alright, this is really helpful. My wife (from the Philippines) and I have been watching a lot more British movies and movies with british actors and she's always asking me what the hell there saying (usually the curse words). No I can tell her.
There seem to be a few experts on the boards so feel free to try some more.
My favourite mix up is the difference between US/UK for the word Fanny.

I've been watching a lot of BBC America--shows like 'Green Wing,' 'At Home with Braithwaites,' 'Mile High.' Can my UK friends provide me with definitions for the terms below. Some I have an idea about based on the context in which they were used.
wanker, wankpot - one who plays with himself
sod - poop
sod off - like 'piss off' but to do so in the poopy sense
bullocks - ?
git - ?
quid - same as a British pound?
A sod is actually a piece of rolled up lawn turf, but it's also short for sodomiser!!
A bullock is a male cow, think you mean bollocks.
A git is someone being a little bit rotten.
And yes a quid is a pound.
You'd say somebody is a right wanker if you don't like them. Often also put together as Fookin wanker. He's a fookin wanker - He really is a complete idiot.

We didn't get the show on TV here in Australia (which REALLY makes sense considering INXS are actually an Aussie band... aren't they?) so I'm not really sure what's gone on but I actually saw the song on the weekend.
Is it just me, or is that dude (the new lead singer, I'm guessing the winner of the TV show) about 1/4 of the age of all the other guys? The drummer looks a little younger too, but generally it looked like a bunch of fathers and grandfathers with their grand-son singing for them.
As for the music, never have been into INXS, never will be. Just ain't my thang...
If I lost my long term partner I think I'd be looking for somebody 10 years younger as well.

After all the waiting... The new CD from INXS is now available! The 12-track release is called SWITCH and is available from both iTunes and Amazon. Yes. It features "Pretty Vegas".
If you want to pick it up:
You can download it right now from the iTunes Music Store for $9.99. (You must have the iTunes software pre-installed.)
DOWNLOAD SWITCH FROM iTUNES MUSIC STORE
Or, if you want to purchase it directly from Amazon for $10.98 , you can click below. Also, check out the Special SWITCH Dual Disc that is getting ready for release from Amazon!
BUY SWITCH FROM AMAZON.COM
*********** Just thought I would pass this along **********
Anyone here gonna pick this one up...?
As for me......
I saw the video this morning and it sounds alright. I'm certainly curious to hear the album. That's the problem though isn't it? They are really just a curiosity now.

I don't understand why would a band want to reissue their album on CD-R. They can be overwritten, they denote cheapness, plus they blur the line between legit and non-legit recordings. I'd be afraid to sell them, as they could be mistaken for pirate copies. Is silver-pressing that expensive?
Kind of done the rounds this one but , apart from possible resale value, what is the problem? Do the bands make money ? Yes. Does it play in your cd player? Yes (probably , my old portable seems to be having some issues with cd-r). Is music available which would otherwise not? Yes.
Dan answered for me on another post about the price and if you're confident of selling a reasonable quantity (1000+?) then it looks worthwhile. I've still not seen definative figures of what quantities these re-releases are shipping but I would bet 1000 is quite a large figure for some cd's.
As for unclear text. I really don't understand what is wrong with something clear and simple like 'Officially licenced re-release of 198x issue. This CD is distributed on high quality CD-R. We distribute on CD-R to ensure the music you want is available at a fair price to you and the bands.'

Finally got hold of Bulletboys Sophie. Let's see how bad this one is.
Whoa Pete....gently hit eject on your player and walk away......
I'd say it's better than Za Za. Not saying much though.
Incredible that a band can release such a good first album and then such an amazing collection of absolute rubbish after that. I feel a spinoff thread coming...

I'm one of those in the Too Fast For Love being Crüe's best and it's still a massive favorite of mine. I rarely play any of the others.

Nearly Impossible question for me to answer i'm afraid. Have been thinking about this for days, without coming to a firm conclusion. So I will list my top picks and let you decide!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toto
Asia
Journey
Kim Mitchell
The Babys
Saga
Cheap Trick
New England
It Bites
A fine choice. Glad to see there's another It Bites fan on the boards.

My favourite artist remains Tori Amos but of HH stuff?
Early days Zep and Whitesnake. Live in the heart of the city was the album which really got me into rock. I saw the snake live a few times and Coverdale is one of the greats. Sadly their latter day material has tailed off in quality and I don't listen so much any more. Zep remain a firm favourite but there's only a few thousand times you can listen to the same songs.
These days, John Waite and all his bands (Baby's , Bad English). The quality of his output over such a long period I find quite astonishing. The last albums have not quite hit the spot for me but in the right mood are still pretty listenable. We used Act of Love during our wedding reception. A rock song my wife likes, we had to play it.
Catching up these days is Cheap Trick. I bought a few albums years ago and really enjoyed them but I just started listening again a few months ago. I've now got hold of more of their stuff and continue to be massivly impressed. Standing on the Edge is , in my opinion , a truly great album and there just seem to be so many more with similar quality. Give me a few more months listening and they could be no 1.

Only 15 pages til I catch up.
It'll never happen, cos see we LIKE you. Notice I didn't say the other 'L' word.
No Geoff...the other 'L' word in this case isn't lesbian.
Who do I have to piss off to get 16 pages?
Judging by the other thread, just about everybody.

Moved on to Britny Fox. Bite down hard.
