  1. I just heard their current bass player, Greg Pianka, was killed in a bar. The media called it a bar-room fight but I read this post on Blabbermouth which explains exactly what occurred. "Greg was a beautiful person and an amazing musician. I was privileged enough to accompany him to the recording studio in November to record the new album I.C.U. with Dirty Looks. We had the time of our lives! Tragically, I accompanied him the night he passed away where I held him in my arms. We have a love for each other that is heaven sent. As I read postings on the internet I find assumptions that people make about what happened that night very interesting so I thought I would post what I know and maybe clear some things up. This incident was not what we perceive as a "bar fight". The perpetrator was well know and liked by us. There was no fight between him and Greg and neither one were drunk. If you think you’re confused you should be me! This man snapped that night for reasons unbeknownst to me and Greg just so happened to be there. The perpetrator went in a back room and pulled out a knife in which he stood still in a stance position. Initially, Greg was no where near the man and did not see him with a knife but once he did, Greg then started screaming at him about having a knife in public especially around "his girl". Greg confronted him about this knife and as fast as he walked up to him, the man took one very intentional, calculated death shot to his heart. It was an extremely freakish, malicious act in which none of us were prepared for, including Greg. He gets to spend eternity in heaven and I will be there with him someday to celebrate our life and happiness forever. I try and look for the good in this world because sometimes the devil clouts our lives with the evil but this new album is awesome and I encourage everyone to listen to it when it comes out. Greg even has a song he wrote on the album. We all love and miss you very much Gregory Pianka!" RIP Greg.
  2. Darkness to reform? I dont really care. The Stone Gods to split? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  3. You crazy kid. 'Dirty mind' is a filler? Haha. Yeah, *wink wink* I agree mate. Spot on. I'm also totally amazed with your production comments. I can honestly say you're the only person I've seen comment with any negativity on this aspect of the CD. It's compressed as hell, but that's par for the course for most CD's since about 1992. I agree with Tim, guitars are BURIED due to brick-wall production techniques. It's really a shame, but true. Give me back my analog tape! how does a compressed song differ to an uncompressed? I've heard the term but never quite knew what it meant.
  4. Other than Bygone Zone from WigWamania, I personally think that Wig Wam ballads are always weak. For some reason they have no melodies and I always hit the skip button, I'd rather have an album full of rockers from them. Why the hell download the CD buy it !!! CD's are the best I hate download sites I do not ever do it . I like to support the artists and buy there CD, just me I am a collector I cannot get into the mp3 part yet maybe some day ..................Wig Wam Rules!! Some people like to hear the full album before they buy the 'hard copy'.
  5. I had this when it came out a while back. Ray died and years later this disc popped up! I thought they split pretty quickly during one tour (I was at the London show), so it was a surprise. However, I was left feeling disappointed after hearing it a few times. It lacks the magic of the first two. Maybe it's just the songs are average.
  6. Or you could get the whole album NOW for $1.62! Really? $1.62? Show us the way. This I gotta see. First post contains the link. I use them a lot. They often have albums out before the official release. If I like what I hear I purchase the physical c.d. Tc
  7. Just acquired he new Wig Wam and it lives up to expectations. Some nicely crafted songs with huge choruses and packed with fun!! You can sample any of the 12 tracks here... Link removed. -Dan
  8. Would love to have seen that. I like Hardcore Superstar!

They reformed with three original members in 2008 and here we have the CD again thanks to Eonian Records.... Thanx.

  11. Just got the self titles album by a band called 'Strke Twice'. It's really good attitude-soaked sleaze/melodic rock. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Strike-Twice/dp/B0...6780&sr=1-1 Anyone know anything about them? Tc
  12. Ok some will laugh but I like this type of rock! Quality 80's style! Meet Reckless Love...
  13. I can't hear it on my phone but have they changed any of the words to Journey's epic? I really hope they haven't.
  14. Ooooh! What will that be about? Santa Claus jizzing in your Christmas stocking? Sticky White Christmas? Rudolph the red dick reindeer? I'm sure I'll laugh, once! Tc
  15. That's because people like watching a comedy show. They are funny live and they are sucessfull paradying other peoples songs! I've seen them at The Viper Room. They do a great Round and Round by Ratt. But the joke album will not stand the test of time, just like The Bad News and Spinal Tap albums don't. Big difference there, mate. Bad News and Spinal Tap were terrible bands that could not back up the comedy with good music or songs. Steel Panther are first and foremost a killer hard rock band with a killer collection of songs. that's what makes or so sad. They are a good band, they can all play and write a good song structure. But they have to resort to using school-boy lyrics.

  17. Steel Panther. Hmmm? Who was it who said everybody is famous for fifteen minutes? Well Steel Panther are funny for fifteen minutes! Crude humor like that has no longevity imo. People like Alice Cooper and Steven Tyler inject humor into their lyrics but it is subtle and clever. I think it's a shame they have to spoil well written music, good solos and a crisp production with such stoopid lyrics.
  18. Anyone else heard it? It's very current sounding without losing her sound Her husband, Jim Gillet (ex-Nitro) is singing on it a lot and that adds to it! Apart from the fact that 'Patrioric SOB' sounds like Vince Neil's 'Sister of Pain', it is a very original album! Top album from a top female (who said MILF?!). Tc
  19. I knew you'd love 'Ghost of love'!!! To me it's a very un-D2 type of song - very AOR-ish, but I like it. It's down the bottom of my list with 'Beautiful mistake', but as I said I don't think there's a filler and I love each track. 'Killin' Love' is even better than 'Ghost..' and definitely my fave on this. Yeah, 'Killin' love' is right up the top for me too. Probably only behind 'Rocket to your heart', 'Hearts on the highway' and 'Dirty mind'. I really love 'Never give up' too. Never thought I'd say that about a title like that. I like Killing Love but really get distracted when that 'gurgling baby' makes it's appearance at the end. What is the relevance of that? The album is full of killer lines like... 'Cover girl face, trailer park grace'. Genius! Tc
  20. What I think seperates this DD release from a good Ted Poley album is the lyrics. There are quality lyrics on Revolve!! So far it's my fav of 2009 (along with the Magnum album). Tc
  21. Actually when I fist heard them I thought they were classic sleaze band (that never made it), the Sea hags! Nice to see a band still doing good old fashioned sleaze in the 2009s! Tc
  22. Click my link and you'll actually hear a few!! Tc
  23. Interestingly I have noticed that Paul Laine plays additional synths for the track 'Rocket to your Heart'! Also, can anyone tell me the relavance of a gurgling baby is, at the end of the track Killin' Love? I find it really destracting!
