  1. Will never hesitate to buy Tesla. Killer song!
  2. Right on...sad as I expected more. Worst cd of the year for me.
  3. I agree though there are a few songs that I swear I hear Bach but the majority is something other than the Skids.
  4. Yes he is truly remarkable...awesome for sure...however.... This cd is dull, no melodies, samey, and gets old in a hurry. My excitement above was premature as I will never spin it again. R.i.p. Dynazty... Damn dude.... you love the Sollinger fronted crappy Skid Row releases but don't like the awesomeness of Dynazty's "Renatus"?? Damn dude. I'm baffled by that. Those Skid cd's have MELODY & strong CHORUS". I will listen to any of those 10 times before I play this again. I could listen to this another 4-5 times and I bet I can't tell the songs apart.

Dynazty... Holy shit! That was an about face, if I ever did see one. Well listen to the opening track and you're blown away. Had they gone into a straight ahead rocker after that and been "normal" I'd loved it. But the song content is dull, the chorus' are dull but the music rocks. But I can't get in to it and it will sit on my shelf.
  6. I agree, very cool. The production is head and shoulders above Karma as well. It blew me out of the car yesterday. I love the album and their direction. The title track is one of my faves. Geoff, come on man! This was one of the reasons I expressed disappointment in Geoffs comments. The sound on this album is excellent. Miles better than the muddy production of Karma and almost up there with Pull (which is stellar). I listened through again yesterday and find myself liking nearly every song - even the trippy one - excellent flow to the album too. Interesting and varied in style. Spot on Glen. I liked it anyway but the more I listen the better. The production really hurt Karma though it was good. They cleaned this one up big time, would even put it a hair ahead of Pull in the production department.

  8. Yeah. That definitely would require some practice. As a drummer, myself, I think it would be easier to learn to use double-pedals. And you have a free hand. But it does look cool, and you learn to work around it. Same for me. There are some cool things you can do but not constant like this guy. Killer drummer!

  10. The tracks are all done from what I read. Not sure why they aren't releasing it. Love all three Solinger SR CDs.
  11. Most of the cd's from Japan now are around 2400 Yen so comes out to $25 USD. Really not that different from some you buy anyway. Some will argue but I will say I am more comfortable with their durability over any other country. CD rot will not likely set in on these as they are still made "heavy" instead of this cheap shit made everywhere else. The Kane Roberts was bought from a private seller but I use Japamart to buy most of the more rare items but you have to be able to read a little Japanese believe it or not. I pay for everything in Yen so there is conversion as well but I have some of my more hard to find items from there such as Quiet Riot - Condition Critical W/ Box Obi, Fate - Matter of Attitude W/ Obi, My Ozzy 1st Pressings, Etc. I watched twice a Metallica Master of Puppets 1st press with box obi sell for $1200-$1400 USD.
  12. If you are a fan of their previous music you will probably be disappointed but I am one song in and holy shit...this is a METAL album. Period. The drummer is ridiculous! R.I.P. old Dynazty music, reclassify under METAL...and learn to love it because it is kicking my ass so far. Full review after I spin it a couple times today.
  13. OK, time for the REAL observation of the album now using Geoff's format 1) Midnight Driver of a Love Machine - Great opener and really sets the tone for the album, could have been on Karma easily - 9.00 2) Queen Babylon - Absolutely killer track with Reb just blazing similar to a PC69 song though once the song kicks in it is totally a song that should have been on Pull. - 9.00 3) Rat Race - Track shows Reb with an "Erase the Slate" feel and totally kicks ass with an unusual upbeat rocker not normal for Winger - 8.75 4) Better Days Comin’ - Geoff hated it, I love it. The most unique song on the album with a acoustic flavor and a killer chorus. - 9.50 5) Tin Soldier - A lot prog more along the lines of the proggy stuff on Winger II (which I loved) with a hint of Thisconversationseemslikeadream, the song's meaning is the only thing I hear from IV - 8.00 6) Ever Wonder - Very moody but catchy song, again fits with Kips solo album type of song more and it will take a couple listens but cool & catchy - 7.75 7) So Long China - Stunning song, doesn't fit on any other Winger cd in my opinion, maybe a modern day S/T track - 9.75 8) Storm In Me - Very heavy, dark almost Pull-ish but not enough melody to fall there. Not the best track but not terrible. - 6.75 9) Be Who You Are, Now - If there is a turd on the album, it's this one. Slow, boring, trippy, wtf? - 5.00 10) Another Beautiful Day - Very heavy, killer riff & chorus, heavier song for IV maybe with a little Pull. - 8.25 11) Out Of This World - Excellent closer, perfect mix of Thisconversation and the S/T album with a touch of "today" in it. Long excellent solo that closes out the song & album ala "Headed for a Heartbreak" Will be a fave for some - 9.75 Total - 90% Honestly, I hear more pull and Kip solo influence than Karma and IV. When I say Kip's solo stuff I don't mean it sounds like it. I mean it has that dark feel of his first release mixed with the heaviness of Pull. Very cool album that some will love & other will hate. I will say if not for the closing track the quality does start to fall off after So Long China. If I had any complaint, that would be it. Buy it & enjoy, some songs might take a few spins but this was my feel after just two.
  14. Nah but the Kane Roberts is a first press. It was $150....ouch.
  15. Nope, I don't remember ever saying I was going digital but my old man brain may have forgotten about it. I did say I was going domestic and selling off my Japanese stuff. I ended up doing the opposite Yep, in fact all 3 Winger cd's above have bonus tracks, including 2 on the new one. The Bach has one as well. The Panther cd is the cd/dvd Deluxe version. Can't wait to check them out.
  16. It's going with me in the car today so I will tell you if I agree when I get home tonight
  17. The money he brought might be a problem but I say find someone else and get a new name. I don't like the band but I feel bad for em
  18. Ah, there it is....stay classy FS. Fatal Smile guitarist has dressing room melt down and flies home after 1st show of 32 date European tour Europe — Who is Fatal Smile? That is the question some are asking. Well in a few simple words, they are a local band from Sweden who have been slugging it out for over a decade playing clubs, festivals and trying to “make it”. They’ve done a bunch of tours, opened up for all the -insert hairband name here- tours around Europe and now have imploded and broke up on the very first nite of their 32 date European 2014 tour. Fatal Smile have spent the last several months hyping their new release “White Trash Heroes” and their first single “Rock Star”. The bands recent press release says, “Expect the hardest “in your face” FATAL SMILE album yet recorded – It’s NOT for the faint-hearted since it’s louder, harder & faster than any of our previous albums & it WILL hit you like a tornado from hell…” Metal Sludge says, “Bitch please!” So why did Fatal Smile break up after 1 nite on tour? That is the million Euro question. It seems the guitarist MR. Y, or Yxan was mad that his band wasn’t standing at the merch table long enough to try and sell swag and CDs after their Munich show with German rockers Shameless. How do we know this? Because we heard him crying about it like a bitch in the dressing room. And just like that, he simply stated, “I quit. I am breaking up the band and going home.” Mr. Y then walked out of the dressing room and left. We thought about calling the whambulance, but figured he was just another primmadonna rock star. Then the next day we see this drivel below from the official Fatal Smile website. ————————————————————————————- At some point in your life you’ll have to ‘kill your darlings’…and it’s with a heavy heart I have to inform you that I’m laying my dear band FATAL SMILE to rest… I sure know it’s a really bad timing with a new album to be released & we just kicked off our first show of the tour last nite… But at a certain point in life you’ll have to make decisions if things are really worth doing it…?? I have come to that point when the answer is no, it’s no longer worth sacrificing everything in my life, my heart & soul just to keep the ‘FS-train’ rolling… It’s been an epic journey since I started the band back in 1995 & I had a blast ‘living the dream’… A million thank’s to all of you for your endless support & love during those ‘Fatal years’ & thank’s to all the band members during this time. I will sure keep writing & playing music, that’s for sure!!! Take care & be well. Peace & Love, Yüksel Unutmaz aka ‘MR. Y’ Now some might see shit talking as unprofessional or unnecessary, but sometimes you have to call it like you see it. Just to be clear, I sing for Shameless. And myself along with Alexx Michael, the Shameless band, and promoters in 4 countries have spent months organizing this tour. With MR. Y and Fatal Smile. The details for all shows have all been laid out and agreed to long before the tour started. And in a few hours time – MR. Y just threw it all away and bailed. Not cool. And a total bitch move. Never mind our band. Or your own band members. But you just shit on 4 countries, all the promoters, clubs and most of all – the fans. Other tours have cancelled, rockers have quit their groups and we’ve all seen this before. And those have had to endure the repercussions of their choices. Now it’s your turn. So kindly know, that what you did is weak. No matter what your excuse is – it’s not good enough. Stay home next time. Leave the real work up to the men. Truth is, I barely know these Fatal Smile guys. But we have played a few shows with them in recent years around Sweden, Switzerland and Germany. It seems they always deliver, and show up with all kinds of gear, back drops, fancy stage clothes, chain mic stands, sample machines, fog machines and a whole lot more. All likely adding up to a LOT of money. Who’s money is it and where does it come from? ClearlyFatal Smile are not gold, platinum or anywhere close. But I guess if you’re a rich kid – (someone in the band must be) – you can buy onto tours, display a bunch of fancy shit and play ‘Rock Star” for a year or ten. Ironically their latest single is, err, was called “Rock Star” and if you care to listen below, you’ll hear all about being a rock star in their lyrics, “I want a million bucks, I want the coolest car, I want a private jet, and fuck a porn star.” By the way, all cliche’ shit and none of it makes you a rock star. And didn’t Nickelback already release that song anyway? Anyway… Funny thing is the whole band sans MR. Y spent 20 hours in a motor home driving from Sweden to south Germany to kick off this tour. But Mr. Y – clearly playing rock star- boarded a plane and flew into town. I guess if you have the money, why not. The band arrived at sound check (5:pm) after a full day of driving, and little did they know, in just a few hours the rock star would walk out and head back to the same airport and fly right back home to Sweden. Or now per his claim, he’s still in Munich. Regardless,MR. Y has bailed the whole tour. Meanwhile the other members of Fatal Smile would turn around and drive 20+ hours right back home. I give respect to the other guys as it wasn’t their choice to fuck over fans, promoters and clubs like this. With that said, I’ve said my part. We’re off to Prague today, then to Italy, Switzerland and back toGermany. Shameless will appear at all shows (>SHOW info HERE<) and we’re gonna be rocking with some cool friends at all the gigs. Stevie Rachelle “From Hell“
  19. ugg....alternative? Please explain sir! What tracks?
  20. Really all of their albums are great with IV just being ok from my taste anyway. I have a new respect for the debit & Winger II as well. When you past past the Seventeen, Can't Get Enuff stuff (which I don't mind either) there is some really great music there. They only ever got known for their rock anthem & power ballads but they could be a little prog at times but more melodic.
  21. When you rate Pull lower than Karma then I can't use your opinions LOL!
  22. No I meant any other band from Sweden since the beginning of time. They are that fucking bad...like Marilyn Manson trying to play hair metal. They were better live than Crashdiet as well. Just saying. That may be true, I haven't seen any of them. All I care about is what the cd sounds like when I play it. I play Crashdiet, Crazy Lixx, etc...regularly. If I saw a FS cd in my house I'd shoot it. Just sayin'
