  1. Hey Guys,

Just wanted to give a heads up that I closed my Ebay name out. I'm unsure if I will do another or not at this point. I found out recently that my wife is pregnant and I have to keep my temptations to a minimum :( I can't stop buying cd's :D At least closing my ebay account will keep me at bay a bit.

Anyway, just wanted to inform of that so rumors don't start that I got banned or anything :D I have learned a lot about right and wrong on there and will use that wisdom next time around :P

  2. I like both but if I had to choose.....the debut is the better of the 2. Haven't heard Dusk yet, I remember seeing the Japanese version years ago in the local shop but I didn't want to spend the $35.

Jake E. Lee was great, I always enjoyed his playing. Then he dropped off the map. Now he has some covers album due out soon.

All three of their cd's are essential to a collection :)

  3. AMEN LON,

(and thanks for writing an entire post without the trucker mouth)

Right, just like the e-mail Koogs got. That wasn't truckermouth either <_< I think it's interesting how much you are on his sack. <_<

As for Lonnie, you have been a great person to deal with. You're a great guy and I have a lot of respect for you but you aren't going to convince me that you are blind when it comes to all of this. You have been here long enough to see what's going on and what has gone on. When you take up for Sam it throws me for a loop.

  4. WOW, me and Sam handle things way different , but i'll be honest with all of you, i don't find his comments any less mature or any more offensive than the majority of attitudes and comments that permeate this post.

Is this the kind of site you are proud of Dan? Funny how we all apparently like the same style of music yet there is no real unity. There is more tearing down than building up.  Its not cool , and it explains why i don't frequent this site often. I certainly don't want to come across as self righteous or pompous, not at all, i am sure all of you have far more insight into cd's . music and collecting than i do.

I would just like to see this site bring people with a common interest together, not make even more divisions in an already diminishing genre.

No unity? Are you fucking kidding me? I've got so many brothers & sisters on here. If you want to be accepted here and feel the untiy that 95% of us already feel, you only have to do one thing...............treat everyone like a human being. That's it my friend. Old vegasbaby will never get it. Some people just never do. I wouldn't trade the friendships I have built on here for all his positive feedback on Ebay.

Face it, he's a fraud and will never get "it".

  5. At least Sam seems to be taking this well, and not getting upset or defensive. Take, for instance, this email he just sent me.

"KISS MY MOTHERFUCKING ASS AND SUCK MY DICK

You guys talk so much shit - YOU WILL NEVER take a Gold Power Seller down.

T-Bonehead , Mulletfaggot and anyone else who tried to defy VegasCDs power can swallow my fucking jizz for being such ignorant white trash pricks.

HAHAHAHAHAAH - I am so fucking happy , I WILL NEVER BE STOPPED , especially by YOU MOTHERFUCKING LOWLIFE HOMOs OVER AT HH.

POST THAT BITCH and watch the positive feedbacks continue to flow in my account.

I CONTINUE TO BE EBAY's #1 SELLER OF HARD ROCK AND METAL

KISS MY FUCKING ASS YOU PUNKS - YOUR SHIT GETS OLD

    WOOOOOFUCKINGHOOOOOOOO

    Post THAT"

Gee, I'm hurt! Why does T-Bone only get T-Bonehead and I have to be a fag? Interesting <_< Maybe he wishes I was gay and wants to start dating? Sorry dickhead, you're not my type. Maybe when you go to prison for all the illegal shit you are involved in some guy name Bubba will give you a present up that wise little ass of yours. It would be nice to see you on the other side of that since you are usually the one fucking people. :D

  6. I read that today and just got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach knowing that although that guy is a loser and an ass he will probably still prevail with Paypal if there is disagreement between you two. :(

    PayPal are total jokers! :2up:

Last month I bought 2 LPs (russian bands) from a russian seller - his auctions stated "I accept paypal, but please ask for paypal e-mail"

I inquired and he provided e-mail of an New Zealand person, explaining he is his personal friend who collects his paypal payments for him since Russians cannot open paypal accounts, blablalba... the usual situation a lot of people doing, so I thought it was okay. BTW the seller have very good feddback, so this convinced me too!

So I contacted the NZ person and asked if it is okay to pay to him - he was a bit startled, but said "fine" so I paid...

Now, to make the story short - I gave it a month, but did not received my LPs, and when asked the seller what's going on he said "oh they bounced back, I'll resend them soon to you..." I have paid for registered shipping and seller failed to respond providing shipping proof, so I filed paypal complaint...

Now is the funny part - natuarally the NZ guy (the paypal recepient) contacted me asking what the hell is going on, and it took us some e-mails to figure out that we were involved in hellish "Merry-go-round" situation... I was told the NZ guy is a personal friend of my seller, what I didnt know was that my seller appeared buyer to the NZ guy, and have told him that I AM his (my seller's) personal friend and will pay on his behalf for his purchase!. So the NZ guy accepted my payment thinking I'm paying for his sale, I was thinking I'm paying for my purchase, and the Russian guy didnt pay anything and collected his purchase from the NZ guy

So basically now we (me and the NZ guy) are two losers who dispute over paypal, while the Russian scammer laughs his arse over and enjoys his free purchases! :2up: and he will get away with it!

I just got the shaft today also. Paypal took $75 out of my account for this jackass who said he didn't receive his stuff. I don't even think his ID is current on Ebay anymore and they still gave him his money back. Total bullshit & I am pissed off!

  7. I think it's time to mention good traders. There´are so many PM:s about bad traders.

I need to mention probably the best trader in the world. HIs name is Pedro Gener from Spain. Always honest fast and a more than great communication. He always sends the cd-r:s by registred which is a major plus. God bless you mate.

I also want to mention Joachim ERhardt from Germany and Leo from Spain, both fantastiic traders.

It's a pleasure to trade with these great lads. Cheers mates for great trades.

    Ali

Pedro has been my best customer for over a year now. He has spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $2000 with me and pays very fast. I'm just guessing but his collection has to be huge. I didn't realize anyone else knew him. He is an excellent human being!

  8. Several questions to be answered...

    1. Sorry Curtis, but the fact that media is unbranded has absolutely NO correlation to quality. If you do your research properly, unbranded media is just as good as name brand, but usually at a much lower cost. Unbranded CDR and DVDR media can be purchased in spindles of 100 from the following vendors (all of whom I've personally used in the past):

    http://www.meritline.com

    http://www.rima.com

    http://www.supermediastore.com

    http://www.americal.com

    http://www.cdrom2go.com

As to which unbranded media to buy, there are many options, and the choice depends on your purpose. I use a Primera Inscripta thermal CD printer, so I have to buy compatible media. If you have a Signature CD inkjet printer, then there are specific types of media you have to use with it. If you're not planning to do any on-disc printing, then pretty much anything will work - make sure the media is certified for the burning speed you plan to use. I've always liked the "diamond" bottom discs, meaning silver bottom, since they look less like a CDR.

I avoid labels like the plague -- over time they can peel/flake off and potentially ruin the player they are in when it happens. IMO, using a fine-tipped Sharpie to hand label the CDR is preferable to a stick-on label.

    2. Artwork templates. I use Adobe PageMaker, since I have templates for front/back artwork that I made up long ago, but Illustrator, InDesign, QuarkXpress, Freehand, any one will do.

You can download templates for a zillion different CD and DVD booklets, digipaks, cases, and labels from http://www.discmakers.com/templates/music/index.asp . You have to register to gain acess, but they are free. They also have a font for both PC and Mac that has some of the industry logos (Dolby, DVD Audio, DDD, ADD, etc.) that you can download and install.

    HTH...

That's all great info Dan. I appreciate the help!

    Thanks

  9. While we're on the subject of where to get things......Where can I buy CD-R's that are plain on the front, like the back? No company logo or anything. I am also looking for the best program to buy for the computer to make my own artwork. Any suggestions there too?

    Thanks!

    JL

    :)

This is not an easy question to address:

In my opinion the best software is Adobe Photoshop + Illustrator.

You can get only photoshop if planing to scan and print existing artwork. But if you really want to create your own artwork, you really will need vector-based software too (Illustrator, corel-draw, etc.)

The more important question would be how you plan on doing it: are you going to invest some money in decent inkjet printer which can print directly onto the CD-R, or will settle for peel-and-stick paper labels that could be printed on any regular inkjet... there are so many different options and possibilities you can invest weeks in researching with no end :).

Well, I am able to download all of the artwork, so I won't need to scan anything. I just need a good program that lets me paste it evenly. Also, one problem I have had in the past is buying a program that includes the photo paper with the lines and stiff already there for the back insert, but when I run out of paper I can't find anymore to buy without buying the program again:(

I am looking for the cd-r's that are completely plain on the front so I won't have to mess with labels.

    Thanks

  10. 12. I actually got to meet her last summer, she was passing through southern Utah on vacation and met her and her sister. Great ladies, who love to rock! I would have to agree with you on 17, killer cd, got mine from Tim, THANKS TIM!!!  But I would have to disagree with you on hotboy, while I don't think it is the best indie out there. it does have it's place in my collection. everyone likes different stuff, thank goodness for that, if everyone liked the same thing we would all be listening to something crappy!

I love the picture on your posts. Who's the hot chick? :D

  13. Let me first just say thank you, thank you, & another thank you to Silvia Moresi for this wonderful and terribly hard to find indie cd. I know I am in the middle of selling my indies but I have to keep this one. Oh my God! What a bitch it is to find this cd! I don't care about Hot Boy, Sweet Lips, or whatever. This cd should easily go for over $300 if anyone ever has it to sell. It was never released other than a few promo's so I like to never found it. I apologize because the persons name escapes me but someone took the liberty of e-mailing me to tell me she had this cd for sell. Thanks a bunch to you also. If you guys get a chance, check out Silvia's website. She has some great prices....

    Thanks

  14. Don't know alot about this project and can't help you with even a bootleg version ( been waiting for a proper release for eons). Can this guy pen a song or what? Title of the project was Jabberwocky and featured guitarist Rick Steier and I believe drummer James Kottak both of whom Lane brought into the Warrant family sometime thereafter. Comfortable with sad and my private blue world are huge faves of mine.

I have a boot of it. It's really great stuff. Jabberwocky is something Jani had worked on for years. There's roughly 10-12 tracks and they are all acoustic driven and marvelous. Recommended to everyone!
