  1. Yes, roy Khan left Kamelot the 25 of april. This is sad since he really brought Kamelot to the next level with his unique voice and his live abilities. It is also sad since I will see them in two weeks time.

    From Kamelot homepage:

With a heavy heart we can now announce that Roy Khan has chosen to leave the band. We wanted to give him ample time for this kind of decision, due to his recent burnout and also the amount of amazing times we have shared with him in Kamelot. We respectfully accept his resignation from the band and wish him the best in his future endeavors. The timing is actually good since we feel the uncertainty the fans have had can now be laid to rest and the band can move on to finding a new singer. The tour is going great so far and the fans have been amazing throughout this entire process adds keyboardist Oliver Palotai. With the new tour already in progress, Kamelot has already begun the search for a new vocalist. I have a few guys in mind, said band founder Thomas Youngblood. And as you can imagine, it is a very important decision. There are some amazing singers that have already contacted us on this but we will take our time to find the right person. Due to the overwhelming success of the recent shows in South America, we are pleased to announce new shows in November/December for Europe (stay tuned).

    * The band headlines the Print de Temps Festival tonight and will play a Amsterdam (nearing sold-out) concert tomorrow followed by a full headliner tour with special guests Evergrey, Amaranthe and Sons of Seasons. (* Guest vocalists Fabio Lione and Tommy Karevik). Thank you for your support and see you on tour!!

  2. A very good album, but don't go expecting 'Wired Up' or 'Lucky This Time' part 2 if you aren't familiar with it. It's got more in common with the previous 'Smack' disc (2 or 3 tracks are on both 'Smack' and 'FF', the excellent 'Edge Of A Broken Heart' worthy of special mention). Good to see a re-issue, as I have seen a few people asking about this one over the years.

Alot better than smack IMO. It was a while since I listened to it but for me it was up there with Lucky this time. I remember a fairly booring drum-machine sound but I can be wrong. I need to bring it out again since I liked it alot the last time I listened to it.

  3. I went with Sanctuary and refuge denied. I have loved that album from the first time I heard it. Battle angels and Die for my sins are great songs.

Great news about a new Sanctuary. I wonder who will be in the reunited band?

Have you voted? Only showing one vote above.

I went for Sanctuary too, but I prefer 'Into The Mirror Black', which is awesome. No sign of filler, great album. You've named the 2 songs I like most off 'Refuge Denied' - both classics. :headbanger:

I must have missed the vote button, a bear too much :P

    Done!!

  4. Really, I may have to re-visit it, personally I thought most of the album (apart from one or 2 obvious decent rockers) was as dull as dishwater :-(

Jump back in there Glen. Especially the first three tracks. It's like going back to the greatest Bonfire era without a million dollar production.

The mid and last part of the album isn't that exciting.

  5. It's nice to hear that you like what comes out from my country mates.

It's a lot of new bands here all the time. They pop up from everywhere. Not just MHR and sleaze, but all kinds of great Rock. And they are out playing alot as well.

It usually rocks around here. Maybe not now when I'm home alome with my two kids watching children's TV ;).
