  1. The last two albums I have been into as of late I just rediscovered them after a long time. The first is the band Prophet----thier first cd with Ted Poley on drums and he sings one song and splits time on another. They have a very Kansas/Styx feel to them. The second is a Kivel Records band called RAIN----at first i didn't like them, that is why it gathered dust but a friend wanted to sample a bunch of different stuff I have and I pulled this out and took another listen and it sounds a lot like modern day Bon Jovi.
  2. What's going On? you know if you want more Tyketto sound to get the Waysted cd "save your prayers". Some really good stuff on that one but it is a bit on the high priced side.
  3. Good breakdown, but wouldn't it be interesting to hear that line up to see what they would come up with? I don't know how SRV would fit in though but it would be fun to watch.
  4. Hey Jason, don't scare off the new people just when they are getting their feet wet. LOL. some good choices for your band may I say. Take it easy.
  5. Jamie Rowe - vocals Jack Blades - vocals & bass Tommy Shaw - vocals & rhythm guitar Andy Timmons - guitar Jeff Watson - guitar Eric Singer - drums David Bryan - keyboard's wow, there are too many people to try to fit into a band. How about the two dream bands you want to see tour together? band #2 Ted Poley - vocals Mitch Malloy - vocals Richie Sambora - guitar Rickey Medlocke - guitar MIchael Anthony- bass Michael Cartellone - drums Gregg Rolie - keyboards
  6. good one Jason. Isn't a ford leading the point standings? LOL. anyway what Jeff was complaining about was when Robbie passed Kevin Harvick when a yellow came out and they raced back to the flag. Wasn't Jeff involved in an incident earlier in the year when he raced back to the flag to keep someone a lap down and he defended raceing back when he did it but complains about it when someone else did it. I know they didn't allow Jeff's to stand then a day later Nascar admitted their mistake and that Jeff's pass should have stood so what is the problem with Robbie doing the same thing Jeff did earlier in the year??? that is my complaint. It seems that Jeff can do something and it is ok but if someone else does the same thing he complains. Maybe I just am starting to not like Nascar so much anymore because they won't set the rules down on paper and say this is the way it is.
  7. yelp, he got beat by Robbie Gordon and he is whinning about something that had nothing to do with him. It is time for the "golden boy" to look in the mirror and see that everything he complains about he has done himself. sorry, I had to get that off my chest.
  8. PECANS IN THE CEMETERY On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts. "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one boy. Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence. Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." He just knew what it was. "Oh my", he shuddered, it's Satan and the Lord dividing the souls at the cemetery. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along. "Come here quick," said the boy, "you won't believe what I heard! Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls." The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk." When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled to the cemetery. Standing by the fence they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me..." The old man whispered, "Boy, you've been tellin' the truth. Let's see if we can see the Lord himself." Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of the Lord. At last they heard, "One for you, one for me." And one last "One for you, one for me. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence, and we'll be done." ... They say the old man made it back to town a full 5 minutes ahead of the boy on the bike.

Answer: "I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever," --Miss Alabama in the 1994 Miss USA contest. 12. not quite, i wish i had that kind of talent. anyway, i thought the message board was to be used for post that isn't approbriate for the band comments? I just wanted to let my fellow hard rock lovers know that there is a new band out that they might want to check out. Thanks for the post but I have no connection to the band. If you came on here and said that the new Aerosmith cd was awesome and sounds like their 70's albums I wouldn't accuse you of being associated with the band but think that a fan wanted to get the word out about an album that they might want to check out.
  13. Hey friends, do you remember when rock-n-roll was loud, aggressive, in your face and had no apologies? If that style gets your blood boiling you have to hear Pyn Siren from kivel records. Man, this band has as much going for them as anyone out there today. It compares to the Skid Row "slave to the grind" era. All the hype about the band is true. They are not copys of Skid Row, they have their own sound but do compare to skid row and the same play it rude and loud attitude
  14. For me the Iron Horse cd is one of the best albums I have heard in a good while. It is a mix of Southern Rock like 38 Special with more guitar's and goes into a sound I can only call "on the edge country" kind of like Travis Tritt or Little Texas gone heavy but that is only on the last song that is "country". If you like good root's rock then this album will please your ears.
  15. top 5 cd for me right not. no order 1. Pyn Siren - slave to your master 2. Iron Horse - iron horse 3. 38 Special - best of (my own mix) 4. ZZ Top - afterburner 5. Night Ranger - best of live from japan
  16. David Glen Eisley sings it, but i can't find a full version of the song. Is the name of the song something other than Sweet Victory? I need your help please. any information would be appreciated
  17. If anyone has the other cd's to add to the site please do so. Thanks. They were a great Southern/AOR band for the early 80's. They still played guitar driven rock when even bands like Van Halen were into the synthisizer experience. 38 Special just player straight root's rock n roll.
  18. vocals: Jamie Rowe (guardian & adrinagale) vocals & bass: Jack Blades (night ranger & damn yankees) guitar: Richie Sambora (bon jovi) guitar: Vito Bratta (white lion) drums: Eric Singer BGV: Tommy Shaw (styx & damn yankees) keys: Billy Pyle but that could change the next week
  19. A cab driver picks up a nun. She gets into the cab, and the cab driver won't stop staring at her. She asks him why he is staring and he replies, "I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you." She answers: "My dear son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive." He replies, "Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me." She responds, "Let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2 you must be a Catholic." The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I am single and I'm Catholic too!" The nun says, "OK, pull into the next alley." He does and the nun fulfills his fantasy. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying. "My dear child." said the nun, "Why are you crying?" "Forgive me sister, but I have sinned. I lied, I must confess, I'm married and a I'm a Baptist." The nun says, "That's OK, I am on the way to a Halloween party, and my name is Kevin.
  20. there is positive and negative but i believe Tommy and JY have every right to tour and make albums under the STYX banner. Styx didn't hit thier stride and start racking up hits until after Tommy joined. Tommy had a big impact on the success of Styx, together with JY they should carry on if Dennis DeYoung doesn't want to tour. I know JY is the only original member from when the band first started but the evolution of a band, with people coming and going you never keep the original members toghether in a whole career. Do you change names everytime you replace someone? I know Dennis is a great talent but his attitude is not good for a band setting. It is like a great athlete that is disruptive in a team setting. Sometimes the team is better without the Superstar attitude and when they move on without them they become a better, closer team. I believe Journey should carry on without Perry, Skynyrd without Ronnie, 38 Special carried on without Don Barnes for two albums before they reconciled. Kiss carried without Ace and Peter and the list goes on and on. What is your guys thoughts, Does Dennis hold the name Styx or do Two key members to the success of the band hold the name Styx? I think the majority wins if the minority doesn't hold the name legaly on paper somewhere or the band isn't named after someone. Could Bon Jovi tour as bon jovi without Jon? no. how about Van Halen without Ed? no. (but they may be washed up anyway)
