Only see maiden with Dickinson
Maiden without Dickinson is like Priest without Halford ... it just ain't right ...

How about Snakepit Rebels' S/T album? It's a bit of a gem as far as I'm concerned ... and would you say that Every Mother's Nightmare's debut was Sleaze? I'd probably rate that higher than the DT album (although if you ask me again tomorrow, I might chnage my mind
)
Ugg, I badly dislike SR, terrible in my opinion. Both EMN CDs were killer but I would put neither ahead of DT.
You're a fussy bugger

Johnny Crash's first album? Altogether now: 'My baby's like a piano ... when she ain't upright, she's grand ...'

Dokken at Hammerjacks in 1995. Beyond awesome. They SMOKED!!
I could add Sylosis/Testament to my ever-growing list ... Testament played their first two albums back to back ... *dribble* ...
I believe I was there ... and I seem to recall you leaving before the end ...
Poxy bloody public transport ...

Breaking The Chains
Paris Is Burning (live)
Tooth And Nail
Just Got Lucky
Don’t Close Your Eyes
When Heaven Comes Down
Into The Fire
Alone Again
In My Dreams
It’s Not Love
Kiss Of Death
Erase The Slate
Crazy Mary Goes Round
One (yes, I KNOW it's not a Dokken original ... I just like the way they do it ... which says a lot about the rest of the 'Erase The Slate' album
)
-
Just thought of another one - Celtic Frost's 'Cold Lake', an album SO utterly shite when compared to the rest of their work that I'd very nearly erased all trace of its existence from my mind ... *shudder* ...

I saw Dokken open for AC/DC (must have been about '88, I think) ... and, yeah - they were FANTASTIC!I could add Sylosis/Testament to my ever-growing list ... Testament played their first two albums back to back ... *dribble* ...

In no particular order ...
Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)
Edison's Medicine
Freedom Slaves
Hang Tough
Flight To Nowhere
Song & Emotion
EZ Come EZ Go
Cumin' Atcha Live
Little Suzi
Modern Day Cowboy
... can I make mine an import version with extra tracks?

Crimson Glory at some club called Zone dk in NYC 1990 I think?? coulda been 1991...
I am really jealous about that one.
And speaking of jealousy, the first person that mentions Thin Lizzy is going to make me Hulk-angry.
Best you don't ever meet my Uncle, then ...

Yeah, sound issues can be a pain ... who can forget Megadeth at Milton Keynes? A sound weaker than Superman in a Kryptonite vest ... yet when Metallica came on, it was fine (and I don't remember there being any problems with Diamond Head or The Almighty's sound) ...
I saw Crown Of Thorns on the same bill as Thunder/Van Halen/Bon Jovi at Wembley ... I say 'saw', because their sound cut out completely - although they clearly knew nothing about it, 'cause they carried on with the show as if nothing was amiss ...
-
Following on from the thread about your favourite concert, how about the one(s) you wish you'd missed? Which bands/artists failed spectacularly to live up to expectations and put on a show that you'd rather forget?
David Lee Roth on the 'Your Filthy Little Mouth' tour was VERY disappointing ... the band were lacklustre, he hardly moved all night and his voice (never the greatest at the best of times) was shot ...
Billy Idol (supporting Bon Jovi at Milton Keynes in 1993) was embarrassing ... if I want to watch some arrogant twat doing press-ups, I can go to the local gym ...
Bryan Adams at Wembley (touring with 'Waking Up The Neighbours') showed just how bad things can get when you lose your balls ... the one decent tune in his entire set was 'It's Only Love', which he sang with Melissa Etheridge (who, incidentally, was one of three acts that day to blow ol' Bry away) ...
Suede at the Cliffs Pavillion ... I know they're not supposed to be happy-go-lucky, laugh-a-minute types but, by God, they looked bored and acted like superstars (it doesn't hurt to acknowledge the audience, lads - after all, we're the idiots who went out an bought your bloody album!)
-
... been giving this some thought ... I'd still go with Donington in '88 as being the best overall concert 'experience', but there have been other highlights ...
Anthrax/Iron Maiden at Wembley at the tail-end of 1990
Spock's Beard at the LA2 in 1999
Fields Of The Nephilim at the Cliffs Pavillion in 1990
Little Angels/Van Halen at Wembley in 1993
W.A.S.P. at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1989
Fish at Club Riga last year
Big Country at the Cliffs Pavillion in 1995
... then, of course, there are the bands that weren't necessarily the headliner on the day, but who put on a great show ... Thunder, Del Amitri, Grey Lady Down, Megadeth, Diamond Head ...
I'm starting to sound like Glen now

You know me ... always sitting on the fence
I'm a big fan of the Judge Dredd character ... Stallone's film was a nonsense ... in much the same way that watching Keanu Reeves playing what was originally a cigarette-smoking, gin-drinking, cynical (blonde) magician had my eyes trying to crawl from my head in protest ...
-
Tank Girl
He he.
See? I would definitely have forgotten that one! Don't think it will be inundated with votes, though...
When I have more time (and inclination) I'll try to come up with a definitive list. It won't, of course, be definitive.
Make sure to include Judge Dredd, if only so that I can go on and on and on (and on) about how utterly shite it is

To tell the truth, I think Reinventing The Steele was a superb album and is way under credited, Hellbound remains one of my fav songs, Dimebag unleashed some killer licks for that album, Vulgar was a groundbreaking album, who had ever done that style of music before??? anyone, anyone? as far as I can tell Master was just a thrash\Metal album, regardless of how good it was, nothing groundbreaking or innovative about it, just cause you dont like Panteras style of music, doesn't mean it's any less revolutionary, and not only did they do a new style of metal, they did it, with the best possible characters setting the bar so high nobody will ever even equal them, thats what I think.
We could argue this one back and forth until the cows came home ...
I can understand where you're coming from, though - I was just as excited as you are by Pantera the first time I heard Warrior Soul - for me, their debut album is untouchable, but I know only a handful of other people who feel the same way ... to me, it's madness that more people don't own 'Last Decade Dead Century' ...

Ooh, I appear to have touched a nerve ...
Yes, I like 'Master Of Puppets', and play it regularly ... funnily enough, that doesn't mean that I'm about to invite Messrs Ulrich and Hetfield over for afternoon tea.
No, Leykis, I DON'T think that the Metallica of 1986 are tha same band that we see today worshipping the almighty dollar and putting out any old crap ... I wouldn't cross the road to buy any of their discs these days ... but that doesn't change the fact that 'Master ...' is an absolute killer of an album for me ...
I don't like Pantera. Sue me. I've listened to both 'Vulgar ...' and 'Cowboys ...', and I don't like either album ... lest we forget, this is MY opinion ... I know that there are thousands of people out there who disagree with me, and all power to them ... equally, I know that there are thousands of people out there who don't like many of the bands that I think are fantastic ... and all power to THEM, too.
You hear something I don't, Leykis ... good for you, mate ...
Next time you come round to ours, I'm playing 'Walk' and 'By Demons Be Driven' until you admit you like at least one of them.
(For what it's worth, I'm really not a Pantera fan at all. I like 2 or 3 songs off 'Cowboys', maybe 1 or 2 from 'Far Beyond Driven', but 'Vulgar' is a very good album imo.)
You can try ...
I'm going to buy you an Iced Earth album for Christmas

No I was in favor of Master Of Puppets, I guess you misunderstood what I was saying, my bad.
... *chuckle* ... yeah, looks like I did ... d'oh!
-
As an experience, it would have to be the 1988 Donington Monsters of Rock festival ... Helloween, Guns n' Roses, Megadeth, David Lee Roth, KISS and Iron Maiden ...

I went with 'Riskin' It All' although, to be honest, they haven't done anything that I haven't liked (even their really early stuff, like 'Counting the Cattle' has a charm!)
-
Nope, won't be buying this (even if I did see it going cheaply second-hand) ... it's just a 'nothing' song ...
I dare you....
