  1. I just heard it on Spotify, it's good. It's not really Giant without Dann but it is a pretty good record. I heard a little of the original Giant sound here and there. Kent does a good job with this. C.H.
  2. It's a good song, kind of a Euro-Scandi typical groove on the low end though. I wish Lars was louder in the mix. It almost sounds like they had him limit his range somehow. It's a good song and I need to get used to the fact that Lionville is not WOA, but I still feel Lars has so much more power and potential with his voice, for some reason it's not quite all there on this one. I don't think it is his fault though, I am sure he sang the way the band wrote the song and wanted him to sing it. Looking forward to hearing the rest of this record, hope there are a few more rockers on it. C.H.
  3. It's very good. I will definitely check this out come April. C.H.
  4. It's working, just takes a couple minutes to post, IDK why C.H.
  5. This is just a test post. I switched browsers and repled in the AOR forum and it would not post. I can post in other forums though, not sure what the problem is. C.H.
  6. It's not a bad song, but it's not Giant either. Kent sings his ass off but it is not the same, not for me anyway. It just sounds like another Frontiers band/project with ADV pimping out the Giant name and legacy. I will listen to it when it is released but chances are very good I will not buy this record. C.H.
  7. It's not bad, definitely better than anything on their last album. Lars could sing the phone book and still sound great. The vocals and the solo are the high points in this one. I think Lars did his best and had the best chemistry with WOA, in the Lionville videos I just get the feeling he is more of a hired gun and maybe he feels like he does not fit well with the modern Lionville. Maybe it's an Italy-Sweden thing. Who knows. It's not a bad song at all, this one. C.H.
  8. My guess is his voice has changed over the years, possibly for the worse and he would rather not sing at all instead of not sounding the same as the earlier Giant, and he would not want to disappoint the fans with bad vocals. There are only a very few singers alive now that still sound like they did back then. He may have been busy with other projects and producing for other groups. I know he produced Patty Smyth's album last year and he has worked with some country acts. Maybe he just does not want to be part of the rock scene now. C.H.
  9. I missed that Mike is still on bass. Original post corrected. It still does not sound at all like Giant to me though. C.H.
  10. I agree, this is not Giant. They should have called it something else and left Dann and the Giant name out of the hype. Original drummer and bass player with an otherwise new lineup does not equal the original band. The song is just ok, nothing really special, although I hear just a small hint of the original Giant guitar sound in the first few measures after the intro. As much as I like the first two Giant records I don't like this song at all and very likely will not buy this record. Kent is a very good singer in his own right but I feel he is way out of place in this one. C.H.
  11. The first Boston album was one of the first two records I ever bought with my own money. The other was Kiss Alive. The first Boston album and Don't Look Back are definite absolute classics. Very few records can compare to them. There is not a bad song on either record. Boston was one of the first bands I listened to and went crazy over when I first got introduced to rock music in the 70's. I will never get tired of or stop listening to those first two Boston albums. I also own Third Stage and Walk On, I picked those up for free at the library and burned copies way back when I was using Itunes. I have not listened to either of those in years, except what gets played on my Boston channel on Iheart. Like so many other great bands, the original Boston sound is long gone and we will never get it back. Brad is gone now too and so is Sib, RIP to both, great musicians. C.H.
  12. Hello HH ppl, I have been a long time lurker here, I joined because I figured it was time, glad to be here. This album is not resonating very much with me either. There are a couple of sorta good songs and it sounds like they tried to clean up the mix on Believe, at least to me it sounds less like a muddy demo but it is still not the best it could be. Station does everything themselves, I don't think they have a record company or an actual producer they work with. I know the bass player engineered their last album and I am sure he did his best but it just did not sound very good. I sure hope Frontiers does not get ahold of Station but at the same time the band could really benefit from a more professional recording and a good hard rock producer. I get the feeling the band just does not want to answer to anyone. I hate to say it too but this is just not a very good record. I know not all albums sound the same as their predecessors but I was expecting much better from this one. I believe the band has the talent but it's not there on this album. C.H.
