  1. I think it's better than her last two, maybe better than The Storm, but probably worse than Sign of Angels. Not even in the same zip code as Crossfire. Not counting Can't Stop. So if this is, at best, her second- or third-best album...what does that say about the rest of her discography? Oooof. Might be time to call it a day for this project, Serafino.
  2. No, the Wilson sisters are tremendously talented. Issa is essentially a studio project.
  3. Decent album, better than her last two but that's not saying much at all. Unfortunately it falls off in the second half and there just aren't many memorable songs on it. Favorites are Live Again, the title track, Chains of Love, and It's Over. Was really hoping for Crossfire 2 but I guess that's on me for setting my expectations too high.
  4. I like this one. Smooth, easy to listen to, nice vocal melodies. Which, by the way, is the main reason I like this band. I can actually sing along with Hughes because my vocal range is like 1/4 of an octave. lol
  5. I really really like this. I think the vocals are an acquired taste but they nailed the production. Very '80s!
  6. I've said this once before but it sure seems like, given the volume of ADV-written songs being churned out and their oft-disjointed nature, these songs are really just bits and pieces of demos and sketches stuck together. It is very easy to do that sort of thing nowadays and I'm guessing the pandemic forced a lot of people's hands in record label land to go with that method of songwriting for convenience and cost-cutting. We all know most of these Frontiers projects are just excuses to put as many well-known AOR and melodic rock singers in their catalog as possible anyway -- they've admitted as such -- and clearly there are lots of people who are not as jaded with the whole thing as myself and will buy the music no matter what, so of course they're not going to put in any extra effort where they don't have to. Also, notice that Frontiers has mostly done away with the "EPK" or behind-the-scenes videos for these bands...
  7. Andrew, blink twice if you need help...
  8. And there's no dynamics between the verse and chorus. The production sounds great though.
  9. Holy shit! I was not expecting that. It's rare to hear Harry sing something that rocks that hard these days. ...oh, it's not co-written by ADV.
  10. This is still the best cover I've heard of that song.
  11. That's...not bad, I guess. It's not featuring my favorite vocalist of the group but the song is decent enough.
  12. Guessing that is another ADV song. Another album I'll probably be skipping.
  13. Terrible news. Blasting this legendary album in his memory.
  14. Watching the video again and...anyone see the resemblance?
  15. I agree, this would be one of the worst songs on II. The vocals also seem to be mixed a bit colder but I don't think that's a bad thing.
  16. Wait, what? Didn't they already post this video or am I imagining things? LOL
  17. It sounds like Palace wrote an album for Kelly Clarkson. How is this any different from basic pop rock, other than it's being released on a legacy rock record label? I see where Glen is coming from with the Issa comparison but this is way worse IMO.
  18. Serious answer: most of the Praying Mantis discography. They've been on a roll since Sanctuary and obviously their 1981 debut is an underground classic but I'm entirely unfamiliar with almost everything in between, specifically their late 90s/early 2000s material. I have a feeling I'd like it, too.
  19. Nothing they've done since the debut has even come close in quality. And the production of those last few albums...jeebus. I really hope Marcie isn't done singing though. One of the all-time great voices.
  20. His voice is definitely an acquired taste, isn't it?
  21. Pretty basic uptempo song IMO but a nice chorus. I can see why they'd want to open the album with it.
