How does that sound like classic Dokken?

    Pretty weak song. I'll pass.

I think musically, that first track isn't too far off from Dokken's sound.  One of George's best solos in awhile too.   I do agree though the song as a whole isn't up to par with those classic albums.  It lacks the melody and memorable chorus.

What Biden did in 60 days is get out 100 million vaccine shots.Maybe it means nothing to you but at least there was a plan. Not the let's wing it and leave it up to the states. If the states do a great job take credit and if they do a shitty job then blame them.

I'm curious to know what is different about the Biden administration's "plan" compared to that of the Trump administration with regards to distributing the vaccine?  The only difference I've heard about was that the feds established some sites in which FEMA and the National Guard are managing directly and have provided aide and staffing to some community run locations to help reach those in underserved areas.  But those sites still coordinate with the states and the doses still get allocated to the states first.  The majority of vaccines are sent out by the federal government to the states who in turn send to the local health departments, just like when this started in December.  And of course the Trump administration's actions helped reduce the red tape and provide funding to the pharmaceutical companies for the development and initial production costs.  Those actions helped pave the way for having vaccines available much faster than most experts believed was possible.  The Trump administration made the agreements to purchase the vaccines that have been distributed to the U.S. citizens so far.  And made arrangements with national pharmacy chains to help the state and local governments with getting the shots into arms, including at long term care facilities.  Meanwhile last summer President Biden, along with Vice-President Harris and others helped create some of the public skepticism and feed conspiracy theories about the safety of the vaccines making it political and telling the public we may not be able to trust the safety of the vaccine simply because Trump was involved.  I'm far from a fan of Trump, and I don't have any objection to people claiming the current administration helped build on what the prior administration started, but all this nonsense from the Biden administration, the mainstream media and many on the left claiming the Biden administration deserves all this credit for the vaccination distribution program in the U.S. is preposterous, in my opinion.

I thought it might be an error also. Although, I see prices like that all the time on the main site homepage.

Even if this particular case was an error, those prices do exist. Crazy shit.

yeah, I've read/heard of some pretty outrageous sale prices for hard to find indie releases, it is crazy, I'm a collector myself and prefer to have physical copies, early versions, in good condition and all that but I don't recall ever spending more than about $40 on a cd, if it's that rare and expensive I'm more than happy to have it on cd-r and print up artwork myself

Shane Martin from DDR posts here occasionally. I would love to know if these sort of prices are paid regularly.

    Shane?

I'm sure that price is an error/glitch.  I shop DDR's site at least once a month and I thought I've seen that title listed for 19.99 not long ago.  So it would be interesting to hear from Shane to clarify things.  That would be beyond crazy if it is the correct asking price, lol.  As was mentioned, even if brand new/sealed condition I'd have to believe the original wouldn't go for much more than $50

What's wrong with racial equality? What is wrong with trying to fight climate change?

Equality is a good thing, everyone should be treated the same and be allowed the same opportunities, regardless of their race, gender, religious beliefs, etc..  But equity and how it is defined, and by whom, can become a slippery slope.

Nothing is wrong with the idea of fighting climate change.  I'm all for keeping the environment clean and striving for improvements in renewable energy.  But I also believe a balanced approach is important until we can truly evaluate the benefits of the various policies.  Is it wise for a country with a large amount of debt to invest tons of money in programs or technology for which we don't yet know the short or long term effects?  And with the economy the way it is currently, should we be eliminating or reducing some jobs with the hope of potential, future positions?

  6. Good album, that improves on the debut.  Full of catchy tracks and the new vocalist is a nice fit.  As far as the three releases from that day, I find myself spinning the new Wig Wam and W.E.T. more often.  Creye leans a bit too much on the pop side at times and I thought the album could benefit from a little more diversity (a few tracks started to blur together).

Came today and sounding very nice indeed on the first few spins...will take a more in depth listen over the weekend.

On the official or unoffical side of the High Vaultage release , I don't really know , I had read that Q5 stated on their facebook account that it was without their permission , but Rick Pierce did the liner notes on that release...this one has Jonathan K writing them...strange

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on how the No Remorse version sounds.  That's interesting, in looking to my copy I see what you mean, there is part 1 of an interview with Rick included in the liner notes.  I suppose Rick may have just been the lone member of the band that gave the ok to High Vaultage.

Damn... Crazysam must be psychic! 5 out of 5 correct, with 3 out of 5 in their correct slots. That's about as close to a win out of the blue as we've ever seen, so I'm calling it.

first prize of a tongue bath from Geoff will have to be done via Zoom this year due to COVID protocols.

Awesome, I'll be looking forward to my prize.

Binged season 3 of Cobra Kai on Netflix.

Go watch this and/or all 3 seasons immediately as it is ridiculously awesome.

Agreed, I am a big fan of the first Karate Kid movie but I wasn't expecting this series to grab my attention like it did.  I like how they incorporate moments and characters from those original movies and toss in a nice dose of 80's rock from time to time.

    Colts keeping it close.

it's been a pretty competitive game, Colts missed opportunities might be too much to overcome though, with the 1st half failed 4th and goal and then the missed FG, odd choice to go for 2 after that last TD, kind of deflating for the team after getting back into it with the nice drive

Picked up the re-issue of Q5 - Steel The Light from No Remorse records...didnt know that the High Voltage one was not given permission from the band!?...good job I still had my Music For Nations one lol.

I didn't realize that about the High Vaultage version either, I used to have it on cassette years ago, it's one of those albums I was really into when I was younger and still enjoy.  Would be interested in knowing your opinion of the No Remorse version as far as how it sounds and compares

What I don't get is that the country with the largest military on the planet had their centre of government overrun by the extras from an episode of The Purge in under two hours.

It didn't help matters when the mayor of DC requested that the national guard be deployed as a preventive measure leading up to the rally but insisted they not wear body armor and be unarmed.  For whatever reason the local authorities and Capital police failed to assess the situation properly leading up the rally.  Even though it seemed to be common knowledge that some of the people attending planned to walk to the Capital.  I did get a kick out of that LEGO satire.  Although, I haven't seen many photos or videos where anyone inside the Capital was actually walking around with gun in hand.  I know there were reports of some being confiscated when people were arrested but didn't hear of any being pointed at police or government officials.  As reprehensible and sickening as this was, if this was truly a coup attempt as the media wants to portray, they clearly didn't come prepared to put up much of a fight.  As soon as the police in riot gear and national guard arrived with tear gas the mob was dispersed quickly.   Comparing Ashli Babbitt to George Floyd is way off base (may they both RIP).  But an unarmed woman being shot to death by police at any of the riots last year would have been drawing as much if not more scrutiny than the riot and any destruction that occurred as a result of it.  I personally haven't seen any calls from the media or the left for an investigation into whether that shooting was a necessary use of deadly force.  The circumstances of this protest turned riot were more shocking as far as where it happened and the political context.  It should live in infamy especially with the fact it occurred at the encouragement of the sitting President.  But as far as violence and destruction it doesn't come close to some of the riots we've had the misfortune of watching over the last year in major cities here in the U.S.  Whether it be the burning down of entire city blocks, having people beaten nearly to death in the streets, rioters barricading and setting fire to a police station while officers were inside or having an armed militia roam the streets.  When I see people on social media showing pictures of what occurred, especially ones of people taking selfies inside the Capital, versus the images of places like Portland and Kenosha it puzzles me how most of those same people didn't speak out at all against the actions taken during those protests last year.  Unlike many of those chaotic events from last year I thankfully haven't heard of any elected officials or celebrities/sports figures justifying or excusing the chaos that took place this week.

  13. Finally!  Not his best song by any means, but a solid track.  I'm pretty sure this was one of the tunes originally mentioned as being part of this album that's been shelved for awhile.  Not sure if he updated the lyrics but it's interesting to see how it relates a little to some of what went on in 2020.

Didn't want to throw this out there but I'm in my third week in the hospital battling covid.

I am starting to feel better but it hasn't been easy.

Glad you are doing better.  Hopefully you'll be able to return home soon.

  15. I enjoyed the debut and this one makes a few slight improvements as the production seems a little better and vocals stand out more.  First track was just ok for me, but after that I thought the rest of the songs were all pretty good.
