  1. Probably they didnt know it was released on CD previously, which doesnt necessarily mean it is a bootleg.

It probably means it was transfered from non-cdsource though (tape, mp3, etc.), since they didnt know it exists on CD... So my advise is to stick to your copy: the chance it could have superior sound quality, given the circumstances, is highly possible.

  2. Oh shut! I've been looking for the upcoming WHW album for ages :(

Your avatar is great ! I can't stop looking at at ! I just wish there was more of it ... -_-

Yeah, as 80es arcade game addict I couldnt resist stealing Mario Bros. (I think this is Luigi Mario) avatar when I saw it. Funny thing is, I havent seen the movie from which it was extracted yet... :)

  3. Interesting trivia about Wisconsin:

Two of history's worst serial killers, Ed Gein and Jeffery Dahmer, were both Wisconsin natives.

Senator Joseph McCarthy, a crazed spittle emitting senator who instituted the anti-Commie witch hunts of the 1950s that ruined countless lives, represented Wisconsin.

Now we have "Bob," who is from Wisconsin.

What the hell is UP with them folks out there in Wisconsin? Is it something in the cheese???

Before anybody who might BE from Wisconsin takes offense, I have visited your lovely state several times and had a great trip every time. I'm just wondering. ;)

Ah, the art of insluting someone with an apology ;)

  4. Pretty sure he wasn;t involved in shill bidding becasue 3/4 of the auctions I looked at he was the first and only bidder. There were no other bids to be trying to push up.

theoretically this happens sometimes, shill-bidding people cannot know if there would be a late snipper snatching their item for cents, so they usually place an early bid to some desired maximum and hope someone will outbid them. But he may not be, I'm just guessing, I havetn even checked his feedback

  5. This leads me to a theory...

Thomas arse-licker Kerlyn is actually a dealer, or runs a store of some kind. He rips people off by selling a few 'pricey' items and then spends all these funds on cheapie cds to stock up his store. There is no other reasons you would be buying hundreds of unrelated cds like he is.... for any other reason but to re-sell.

Bidding doesnt mean he's buying, he could be a shill-bidder. If you want to see a good example of shill-bidder, go check "obsidian-blade" feedback :)

  6. This is GREAT classic thrash album I've discovered recently (check mp3 samples below).

    Highly recommended!

  7. Just a short note to let everyone know I just heard back from Peter C. formerly from Jaded Reign. Here's what he had to say:

    "Hi,

Thanks for checking in with us! We recently lost our friend and bass player from Jaded Reign in a tragic car accident. The remaining four members agreed to release ALL of the Jaded Reign catelog as a tribute to Brian later this summer. Please keep watching out for it, we appreciate your support.

    Thanks so much,

    Peter C."

I was saddened to hear abotu Brian, but the news of the pending re-releases warmed my heart a little.

  8. CD was indeed released in 1995; the band members subsequently broke up and several members eventually went on to become KILLING SEASON, a Death Metal band. The band has tried to distance itself from their initial eighties metal hair band roots. CD is signed by all of the band members.

You mean KILLING SEASON from Long Island, NY? If yes, I've heard their CD and they aint Death, but some sort of melodic modern metal with drum machine - not awfully bad, but definitely not my cup of tea.

  9. CRIMSONGLORY1.JPG

    Has 3 tracks:

    Lonely (Remix)

    In Dark Places

Dream Dancer (from 1st Recording Session)

Hey, is this one the gold VideoCD?

I saw it in a store in Germany in mid-90es but didnt buy it for one reason or another, still regret it to this day, heh.

  10. Apart from the debut, an upgraded version of the band's defining masterpiece "Transcendence" will be released — subtitled "Transcendence: Renovatio", featuring new cover art...

They shoudnt change this one - this artwork is pure classic!

I hope the Greeks will release this by August. I'll surely pick them when in Thessaloniki this summer. Black Lotus is very hard to get outside Greece for some reason, their distribution is not very good :(

  11. I'll ask the dumb question. What exactly is Japenese Plastic?

It is a very ordinary cellophane plastic bag with resealable flap. Costs about 2-3 cents per piece. you can get them on eBay, there are plenty US sellers carrying them (all made in china of course).

I'm a bit puzzled, though, coz I always thought Retrospect had their duplicated CDRs factory sealed...

  12. OK, just to give ya'll an update on this seller, I can now verify that, as suspected, the CDs he's selling are Russian versions, so those who are bothered by that hideously evil phenomenon known as Russian imports should beware. :yikes: You should also be aware that it will take approximately 3 weeks to receive your CD, which may be fine for you patient folks, but is longer than this impatient, I-want-it-now sumbitch is willing to wait, so I will probably (never) buy from Nitro Music again.

On the positive side, the LORDI: "Get Heavy" CD I bought from him really rocks! :banger:

Did they came in jewel cases and in unopened sealed condition?

  13. King Diamond for me too. First 5 albums are awesome classics which kept me enchanted for years! I can't care less for the albums after that...

Mercyful Fate first two are timeless classics too, and even "In the Shadows" was enjoyable, but after that pretty much like with KD albums they got way too repetitive for me to enjoy thoroughly.

I havent even checked "The Puppetmaster" yet, and this speaks volumes how indifferent I am to the new stuff, considering KD was my undisputed favourite band for about nearly a decade way back in the 80/90es.

  14. I found those much more interesting: ULTRA RARE HAIR METAL DEMOS SERIES CDs Vol. 1, 2, 3

They discreetly dont state who released them, but in the description it says "THIS IS AN OFFICIAL FACTORY-PRESSED RE-ISSUE - LIMITED TO 100 UNITS" , drawing quite interesting similarity to some other releases by a certain label

  15. " if you grew up with their albums you will love em to death, if not, you probably wont like em no matter what "

    that line worries me...

Sorry man, take it as my personal opinion only - that's how I felt about their early albums (I got hooked to Thundersteel in 1989). I adore 88 and 90, but dont bother for the rest. I'm sure there are plenty of people the other way around, as well as those who love them all, or hate them all.

In any case you should try checking some mp3s and deciding for yourself.

  16. I have the same problem with Rage (German power metal band)... I tell people I dig Rage and they think I mean Rage Against The Machine (Arrrrgh!)

But as far as Riot goes, they're one of those bands I've always heard OF but never really HEARD. I think I may have heard one or two odd tracks here and there, been reading about'em in mags and online for what seems like forever. Does this band have a best-of release of some sort for an interested newbie like me to use as a starting point?

Okay, here is the deal, if you dig badass power/speed metal with shredding gutards and screaming vocals, like APOCRYPHA, or Painkiller-era JUDAS PRIEST for example, then go and pick RIOT - Thundersteel (or Privilege of Power). Those two albums only.

If you dig nwobhm - go pick first two RIOT albums, they are classics!

Finally, if you are into traditional classic heavy metal - check the rest of their discography. All their albums are solid traditional heavy metal. But be aware, they are one of those bands like KISS: if you grew up with their albums you will love em to death, if not, you probably wont like em no matter what :)
