  1. It is yet another lie in this story. Lon sent me a PM a while back wanting to buy my White Lion - Pride Japan first pressing. Unless the Ramierez brothers were using his HH account also <_< The funds he used to pay with are also on hold in my account & even though Lovid didn't file a claim I had to provide the tracking number. Thank God for delivery confirmation...

Either way, I am frustrated that Paypal is holding $76 of mine (on top of the $160 I spent w/ Lovid). They got a very not-nice e-mail from me. I told them if that money was not back in my account by Monday I would call Monday & close the Goddamn thing.

    Paypal = Dumbasses...

    JL

Whoa dude, that $76 are real insult to the inlury man! I feel sorry for you and hope paypal wil release them soon!

Did Lon buy this White Lion CD after January 13-th? Seems he has been spending quite generously the preorder monies... no wonder he has hard time refunding people...

  2. However, I just noticed that Mr. Holdaway made four purchases through my web site in January for a total of over $300.00. He paid with PayPal. Now, because of the investigation that PayPal is doing over his illegal activities they have put these funds on hold and I cannot access or deposit them...

Wow, hold on! If Lon's claim that Ramierez bros had hijacked his paypal account is true, how could he use the account for placing 4 (FOUR!) orders from NEH? Something smells fishy here...

The key question would be, were those orders placed before January 13-th (when Lon started taking preorders), or after. I'd find it very hard to believe in the Ramierez story if Lon has been shopping around using his paypal after January 13-th.

  3. Stormspell, you can't say a damn thing because you have no clue, but like you do always you want to chime in. Same with Jarred...

I can say whatever I want to, and I have all the right to do so, coz despite of you I do run a small indy label and in a long run you probably screwed me as bad as everyone involved! You obviously cannot take responsibility for what you have done and even simply apologize, so make everyone a favor and just begone! and dont spend all the money at one place! :2up:

    Oh yeah, fuck you too!

  4. Ouch! 4 people above for the total of $350... Lovid did walk away with some serious cash after all...

I have the sick feeling that if Lovid wanted and had good intentions he would have refunded everyone long time ago. As said previously it takes just a click to refund, even if you have withdrawn the cash into your bank account.

Oh, and please Lovid, dont come up again with the "Ramierez had my passwords and withdrawn the cash" bullshit... be a man and give the stolen money back... then again, calling you a "man" is probably the most diametric thing to what you are... ugh.

  5. OK. In the meantime my bank pulled the money back from PayPal and it has been booked back onto my bank account. BUT now I have a minus balance on my PayPal account and I can not send money anymore as long as this case has not been closed.

    Great !

Ouch, could it be GayPal know Lovid doesnt have sufficient funds in his account and so they are mad at you coz they cannot pass the loss back to you (well, they obviously did pass it anyway)?

  6. are the police involved yet?

is loony ( lonnie ) been arrested for his crimes?

I bet he is hoping to not do time for this.

Oookay, I see a lot of people asking if he got arrested yet. Well... this is not some TV drama, so I dont think he's going to get arrested anytime soon. The only way to get arrested would be if the band and/or someone else sues him AND he gets convicted. Somehow I doubt this will happen, unless there is someone really adventurous to fork out thousands for attorneys in hope to recover whatever lost in preorders... So Lovid is okay, and will even walk away with some cash to spare, in my opinion...

  7. I'm guessing no refunds yet?

BrianJ and Christine both mentioned that they had gotten some form of refund; just curious, are they still showing as "pending" or did they go through? <_<

    Mike

I think Lovid refunded several people with small preorders with the leftover money he probably got locked in the paypal account (assuming one can refund while the account is locked) or he just initiated manual echeck refunds - hence the pending state.

In either case it is quite clever move coz those people announce they got refunds and give hope to the others, while he clears all the funds from his bank account and walks away undisturbed.

Unless PayPal majorly steps in somehow (which is unheard of) I dont see refunds coming, hope I'm wrong.

  8. For the sake of the relationship Lon once had with us all here, I do hope that once this is all done and (hopefully) every cent has been refunded he does come back here and let us know 100% the true story. Because I am so intrigued and if he is to leave the board/scene forever, he’ll have nothing to lose… but feeding our curiosity would be hugely appreciated.

The balls it took to attempt this scam (What a bluff!!!), the cold-hearted nature of it all, the betrayal, the lies and most of all the thinking they could get away with it. I am blown away by the whole thing. It’s so sweet he passes the last story off as the truth but the holes everyone pointed out are surely obvious to anyone with any common sense. The post that still sticks out the most for me, I think from ‘Hardrock80srule’ (sorry if I didn’t get that right mate) is him asking Lon if he was us, would he believe the story we were fed? Of course not. Although I may not be in this bracket myself, some respect for the intelligence of most people here would be a nice touch.

The only true story I'll take would be "sorry guys, I tried to rip you off and get away with it" - short and simple!

In truth, I dont care much really why he did it or whatnot - greedy little people do stupid things all the time. When such thing happen you can only try to distance yourself as farther as you can from such people and carry on.

The ONE thing, however, I'm not going to forgive Lovid for, is the huge negative impact this scam will have on the trading society, and speciffically on the small honest indy labels which do work with the bands and try to pull legit re-issues at their own cost. For this alone he deserves a crushed kneecaps with a bat. Nuff said

  9. So there I was, driving home from work, when a cop pulled me over and said, "I clocked you doing 48 in a 30 mile per hour zone. Care to explain yourself?"

Thinking quickly, I replied, "The Ramirez brothers made me do it."

I then sat there for 10 minutes while the officer wrote me a ticket. Oh well, it was worth a try...

That's coz you dont pay attention! If you have said RamiErez you would have walk untouched

  10. Here's the newest PM I just received from "David"

Are you sure? Because I answered the phone, and u didn't have the balls to say anything. Your money is being refunded, so continue your little name calling game. As i have repeatedly told you, you aren't the only ones here that have been done wrong. but you can't be man enough to let it be and wait till the whole story is told, but like everyone else you want to assume the worst without knowing all the facts. I am done speaking with you, so please refrain from anymore contact or name calling until this is all settled. All the payments will be refunded by friday, then you can make up all the little stories you want.

    David

    Give me a fucking break!

    Jarred

Friday ok, but which year?

  11. I still don't get the reason they made up the story about the wreck. All that did was draw more attention to the fraud.

He had to, coz Georg had posted the warning info already on AOR Heaven site. So Lon tried to beat him up and came with the "accident" story, which did held for awhile actually.

Also, how in the hell is it possible that in the long drawn out time it has taken for him to sign, remaster, and prepare to release albums that not one of the bands he supposedly signed ever find out? I thought that within our community we had connections to just about everything.

Maybe because no one suspected him and felt necessary to contact the bands. I for one never for a second thought it could be a scam. Some people obviously had back thoughts, but never shared a word in the open, so it went unnoticed. I personally am amazed that no one complained about the preordering price of $17.99, but then I did not complain either, although it is a very high price for an indy re-issue in my opinion (especially on preorder when one would expect some courtecy discount). I can only hope not many people actually did preorder (I'd be VERY surprised if he got more than 200 CDs preorder total), but still the sole fact he skinned Georg for $5000, Adriano for $1000, Sam for 50 CDs, Jarred for $160 shows he walked away with some cash, which is very disturbing and wrong.

  12. 3.) Is his name really 'Lonnie Holdaway'......? I would be surprised if it is, as this is an easy case to prosecute and it wouldn't take much to find him. There are phone records and physical adresses.....a trail.....

Well, seems there is a person called Lonnie Holdaway in Blytheville, AR. There is an info on classmates.com he attended high school there in 1984-1988 which sounds about correct age.

Also, this link: http://fuelmypain.com/modules.php?name=New...e=article&sid=3 , there is a "contact Lonnie" link in the text someplace in mid-page, which links to his e-mail address (lrc72315@sbcglobal.net).

It is not clear from the page if this is a past, or upcoming event (there is a copyright©1998 note at the end, but it could indicate the establisment for this online service). In any case there are some phone #s in the bottom of the page that can be followed.

P.S. oops, sorry, I see Mike has beaten me up to this info already.
