    Bringing this back up as they are running a sale on refurb units (like the one I bought) but $200 lower than what I paid.... bastards! :lol:

    $795 right now: https://www.elm-usa.com/collections/product-range/products/copy-of-eco-pro2-factory-refurbished-demo

    I used the machine quite a lot over last summer and fall, and I'm completely sold on the unit for CDs and DVDs, not so much on blu-rays as the latter leave a dried residue that has to be manually wiped off. However, blu-rays have a more scratch-resistant surface to begin with so are less likely to be in need of repairing. Usually it's fingerprints, which a simple microfiber cloth can fix.

    Bargain! ;}

    Broadside    -    Hotel Bleu ; almost a little surprised how high this rated in my list, but such is the class of this band that even if I admit I was a tiny bit underwhelmed with this album - not because it was bad at all; just quite different to what I expected - a good band is a good band and even with a different vibe this time around, they still absolutely nail it and it's a very good album.

    Been spinning this a fair bit the last few days. I've said it before, but I've done an absolute shit job at keeping up with album releases. I only just realised these boys dropped this back in November. Anyway, I very much agree with you: there are some excellent tunes on this, but I'm a little worried about the direction they may be going. I noticed it with Emarosa, too. There seems to be a trend with these Pop Punk bands to go more Pop than Punk. And I just hope they don't pull a Don Vedda and completely lose their Rock identity.

    But, anyway, how fucking immense is the closing track, "Bleu"? Gut wrenching. Is he talking about a failed relationship, or a passing of a loved one? Either way, it hit me real hard.

    There will be a day when someone other than Ponen and I realise how exceptional this band is, and on that day I don't want to be accused of holding out on y'all future fans, so they dropped another short film oh whoops I mean song on Friday.

    I obviously absolutely love these guys, but as musicians, I really don't think they're doing themselves any favours, lol. I do understand it, though. As a confessed groupie, I have watched all their podcasts and these guys are essentially film makers, who also happen to have a love for music, on the side. They've even said on this podcast that if it came down to a future career in film, OR a future career in music, they'd go with film. Here's hoping they can keep both passions fuelled, because they are far too good at music to fade into obscurity.

    Anyway, here's the new song, with the video continuing on from a previous storyline from their previous most recent release. For anyone just interested in the song, it kicks in at 8min (!!) and is a stunner. Chills during the opening verse on first listen for this guy;

    Should I be watching these videos? I haven't bothered, because music videos are usually fairly cringe.

    I went looking for the album and they have already released about 4 others... never heard of them before either.

    Well, it's even more annoying for me, considering they're from the next province over. Canadian radio is a sack of dicks. These guys would never get played, or even promoted on radio.

    Devastating news but to my ears the last couple of albums, whilst good lost the magic of the first few... So the band probably needed a shake up anyway?

    I enjoyed Turborider, because it was so much different from the rest (I mean, obviously; it was essentially Synthwave), but I think I agree with you. I usually only listen to the first two albums, and still haven't even heard InVader

    5. Bill Clinton's wife, what do you mean she lost???

    Satan is my number one favourite president of the United States of America.

    They've been signed to Frontiers for a while, haven't they?

    Yeah, for at least ten years. I can't recall if Seraphic Clockwork was still with InsideOut or if they had signed to Frontiers then.

    Yeah, it's definitely unfortunate. As noted, it's probably a massive deal for Olli within the confines of Finland, but certainly a bummer for fans of Reckless Love worldwide. I also think we will see Reckless Love return again one day, but it's obviously impossible to even guess any kind of timeline. Guess it's one we just have to wait out.

    Perhaps, Stefan, next time you cross paths with Olli at your local supermarket you could mention that we'd prefer if he returned to Reckless Love asap. And next time Popeda are at your house for a Sunday BBQ you might want to encourage them to call it a day, again?

    Yeah, @Stefanreally dropped the fuckin' ball on this one.

    This album did not age well at all. Another Frontiers one-off that sounded exciting at first but had little staying power.

    Glen had it right...

    Oh, @Glen, how did we ever doubt you? ;}

    I remember when I first heard this album. I threw the files on my DAP, took it to work, hit 'play,' and was immediately disappointed. I don't think I've listened to it more than five times. But, as I said above, I still love "Through."

    I very much doubt that. From what I have seen and heard over the years, Olli made most of the main decisions with the band. Hell it was his band basically (which is why it went on hiatus when he joined Crashdiet).

    He got an offer he could not refuse. Despite not being known outside Finland, Popeda probably sells more records in Finland than Reckless Love sells world wide, and probably plays bigger venues too. It may be his fan boy dream, for all we know, but you would have to say that he must be making a lot more money joining them.

    Maybe he will return, maybe he won't. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

    I'm guessing Reckless Love will be back. But when? Who knows? It's a real shame this happened after such a banger that was Turborider. And we all know the Synthwave direction was due to Hessu being out of commission after his back surgery, so it makes sense that he's itching to play again. You can't fault him for leaving. I wonder what the other boys will get up to.
