Played this all day yesterday. It's very short and I would have preferred 2 more new tracks rather than the pointless re-records tacked onto the end, but ii is a very good album nevertheless.

Yeah, what's with all these 30 minute albums?

Forgot to mention that Slaughter had a drum solo.
Holy fuck, I can't remember seeing a drum solo in the last 10 years or so.

Who's drumming for them, now? Is Blas Elias back in the band, or was it Zoltan Chaney? Zoltan is wild, and a lot of fun to watch.

Tyketto - for me, should have been later in the night and on the bigger stage. (as they rotated stages, every second band ended up on the small stage, which was a shame) Danny's voice was on point, he engaged the crowd like a king, and you believed everything he said, I guess it felt like he really connected rather than just doing he lines. Played everything I wanted to hear except Reach. If they were playing a side gig tonight I'd go.

Was it you who had never listened to Tyketto before? I'm so glad you dug their set, and I also hate you because I've never seen them.

Thanks for the review, it's always cool to hear other's experiences. And I might have to check out some of the earlier artists.

I was just checking out of some of the opening bands at Glamfest before I head out there next week, trying to time which train to catch. Looks like I'll be aiming to get there for the first band that I might mention later on (Shotgun Mistress and Ablaze seem pretty decent). But the one band that captured my attention most of all is this one - Department Of Gloom. Terrible band name (and far as I can tell with after a few samples, not representative of the music) and imagery, but when I checked out a couple of the tunes I was happy to hear it's actually sounding pretty good. Very interested to check it out. And the hook? It features Leeno Dee (bass and it looks like a fair share of the lead vocals) and Phil Bowley (guitar), both from Candy Harlots.

    I remember my mate (a student of Bowley) had an EP of a band that Phil Bowley was in a few years ago , with similar imagery, but I'd not heard of this one. Sounds well worth checking out;

Yeah... Their image is very off-putting.

I will also check them out I guess.

    Never heard of them before.

I checked out the cruel intentions and they sucked.

Was never really into Lynch Mob or Janet Gardner.

Pretty much going for Slaughter, HEAT and Tyketto.

Although I have been listening to the second Sisters Doll album (overlooked by me) and their newest releases and like them more than I used to.

Slaughter set list will be interesting.

Average setlist didn't include Gave Me Your Heart which is one of my faves.

    Not Times They Change

Hopefully as headliners they will play more than their 2023 average setlist.

Slaughter is a fun live band.

Good to see he's out of jail I guess.
Never really got the details of what he did, but as he was instntly sacked by the band, you'd assume that it wasn't just a misunderstanding or banter gone wrong.

No surprises he decided to reinvent himself in a Christian band.
He has an amazing voice, so I'll be interested to hear these.
My desktop here doesn'y currently have speakers, so will check out later.

He had two sexual assault charges. Made sense that the band fired him. Plus, I believe Bad City was only ever meant to be a side project.

  7. I find the first few months are write offs for me, personally. If something is released in January, I very likely will miss it, or I'll listen to it a couple times, and then quickly forget about it. January and February are the months I catch up on everything I missed the previous year. I go through @Jez year end list (the only Top 5 that matters ;} ) and then check out the major crossovers on the other member's lists. And because Jezzer fucked up by not having ModX, Steve Lukather, or Boys From Heaven in his Top 5, I have an even greater workload than usual.

It's 2nd week of February and another Thursday evening looking for new releases tomorrow that I want to hear and again nothing.

Sivert Hoyem's album aside, which isn't melodic rock there's been nothing for me this year. Nothing.

Is the game over or will there be a slew of great releases coming soon?

Did you not care for the Striker album?

Great song but I have a super random question...

Is there a reason why the singer is always hiding his left hand in these videos? I could have sworn I read somewhere that he was missing a finger or something like that but I don't remember exactly what it was and now it's bugging the crap out of me. It's no judgement and I love his voice but I'm so annoyed that I can't remember this meaningless detail. :P

Anyway, great song, I definitely prefer their Scandi style to this but I'll definitely give whatever comes after it a shot too.

I thought I remembered it being in a sling in one of the videos. Perhaps this was filmed around the same time?

I asked the same question a while ago, and never got an answer.
