I like some prog rock/metal, but I'll take another The Magnificent which was the best album of 2011!
I enjoyed The Magnificent a lot. I am not sure it was the best of 2011 but it is a cd I go back to often.

I think the vocals are one of those you either love em or hate. I dont know too many people in the middle ground. I think his voice is great for the music.

Rapid fire, Anacrusis and Chemical Annihilation are mine!!!
Really looking forward to these!! Love those Pacific NW bands!
Anyone listened to the Rapidfire CD? The samples sound really good to me, but I'm not sure whether to pick it up. Already need to get the Midnight Priest and Last Descendants CDs...
I got it and the Rocka Rollas - THe war of Steel has Begun cd at the same time and both are very good. I would recommend getting it.

Probably my favorite album of 2012
Fantastic band , just check "Isolate" it's more Metal than the last one but it's...fantastic !
"Nine" is less Metal Prog & more Melodic than "Isolate"
I was a little concerned at first but Nine is very good. I think it and the previous albums are different but if you can appreciate the album for its songs, it is very enjoyable.

I am really enjoying this cd. It has more of a 70s glam feel than the previous album.

I swore there was a thread about the new Rush cd but I can't find it anywhere.
Anyway after several spins I'm really liking the new disc but it did take a few repeated spins and taking the time to read the lyrics and get into the story but all in all it's a really good album with "Headlong Flight" being my fav but really there aren't any bad songs.
I agree. This album is a very good listen but it is also an album that takes a little while to absorb.

I'll give this a go for sure, but those 90 sec samples on iTunes aren't blowing me away I must admit. Sounds a big step back in sound to me. Was hoping for a continuation of the power of Dead Reckoning :-(
We'll see
I can understand that. I really dig Wounded Land and Extinct Instinct so the new one is right up my alley.

Love that hook in the chorus, and as usual Karl Groom's guitar work is just outstanding (the outro leaves you desperate for more, I hope the album version is longer than the radio edit!)....me is v excited even if Mac isnt involved :-))))
Pretty decent straight forward melodic rock tune, imo. You wish a 5 minute song was longer? Wowser... you can have the 2 extra un-needed minutes from my listening experience and make yours a 7 minute song and I'll stick with 3 minutes of this!
Nah, it's okay but they do definitely, certainly miss Mac, severely.
If its an extra 2 minutes of magnificence from Karl Groom I'll take it whole heartedly!
I really thought Thresold without Mac would be a let down but this is great IMO
I am very excited Wilson is back. I will miss Mac too but I really enjoyed the previous Wilson albums and this seems to be another winner.

The last one just rocks. I dont know if they will ever beat Time Traveling Blues but A Eulogy for the Damned is very good.
