  1. Wow, did we all seriously miss the most disappointing CD of 2011? It looks like it. For me it has been:

House of Lords - 'Big Money' ; In the past few years, and basically since I first heard them, I have viewed these guys as one of the most solid, consistent and reliable bands doing the rounds, aside from that obvious 'Myth' trainwreck. But I don't know what went wrong this time. As I've referenced a million times already, this is probably the worst produced album of 2011 - it really sounds like a piece of shit. But even when you take away the awful sound quality, the songs just weren't as strong for me this time. There are only 2 fillers ('Big Money' & 'Searchin') but the problem is the rest of the songs, for me, all rate between 7-7.75. I couldn't even muster up an 8 for any of these. Funnily enough, I actually rated Fergie's version of 'First to cry' an 8. And I don't think it was just the production... it just sounded better.

i never bothered to get this one so that is why I missed it :)

  2. I still have to get some releases like Farcry, House of Lords and The Electric Boys, and to get my order from Amazon containing The Slam, Reckless Love, Wolfpakk, White Wizzard, Wolf, The Magnificent, and Theocracy but here are my thoughts

    1. Haken Visions

    3. Anubis Gate Anubis Gate

    11. Tangent, The Comm

    18. Joseph Magazine Night of the Red Sky

very unusual pick for a man on the HH forum, kudos to you and those 4 are very good prog albums even though I still find it's very hard to digest Haken's 'Vision' unlike their debut.

and BTW, i think Nelson should be left out since it's 2010 release, friend

thanks - Haken is one of my favorite bands. I too thought it was a harder listen then their demo or debut but after some listens I really enjoy it.

Its funny - my Nelson cd has 2011 Frontiers on it but then also a 2010 date as well. I guess its one of those crossovers.

    2. Hitchcock, Toby Mercury Down

    3. Anubis Gate Anubis Gate

    4. Cooper, Alice Welcome 2 My Nightmare

    5. Leprous Bilateral

    6. Sideburn Jail

    7. Bullet Highway Pirates

    8. Hibria Blind Ride

    9. Iced Earth Dystopia

    10. Billion Dollar Babies Die for Diamonds

    11. Tangent, The Comm

    12. ICS Vortex Storm Seeker

    13. Whitesnake Forevermore

    14. Underride Distorted Nation

    15. Megadeth Thirteen

    16. Nelson Lightning Strikes Twice

    17. Electric Orange Netto

    18. Joseph Magazine Night of the Red Sky

    19. Artillery My Blood

    20. The Poodles Performacracy

  4. Anthrax - Worship Music - kinda boring to be honest.

Journey - Eclipse - I had high hopes after Revelations but this was pretty bland.

Fair To Midland - Arrows and Anchors - love the last one and this just had no melody whatsoever.

Hammerfall - Infected - i took a chance on this one and it didnt work..

Amorphis - The Beginning of Times - too much growl for my tastes. THey should have stayed more on the clean vocal side.

Serenity - Death and Legacy - i really liked the last two but this one bland.

  5. reading this thread, it kinda reminds me of some of the people I was dealing with when I was selling comics, although not as bad.

they would pay for their auction then start demanding that I put in two lots of cardboard and other shit to make sure their items wont be damaged, to which I'd have to point out that in the 6 or 7 years that I had been selling comics, my packaging has nearly always been commented on as being well done, and that if they wanted extra packaging that would then up the weight of the item, it doesnt come free.

One guy had the cheek to tell me it was my obligation to swallow the extra costs, to which I politely told him to fuck off.

I pointed out that at the time I was unemployed and was selling stuff to try and keep me afloat financially, and the item he bought I actually already made a loss on due to fees etc and the fact that my postage costs on a single cheap comic (he paid 99p) were actually more than I charged him. He still tried telling me that I should have swallowed even more costs.

It was at that point when I told him to fuck off in less polite terms.

It was people like this that made me start listing shit in my auctions such as "comics do not necessarily come bagged and boarded, so if you are adamant they should be, dont bid".

I still got the odd arsehole after that saying, "I know it says its not bagged and boarded, but can you add extra packaging" ... No I fucking cant!

If it was expensive comics we were talking about, then yes I would take extra care. But dont expect me to start treating a 49p comic with the same kid gloves.

Problem is, I already had people saying postage was too high for a single issue, even though I often lost money on postage, so I couldnt start upping postage on my listings otherwise it would drive people away.

I got tired of all the nonsense on ebay, the dumb buyers who cant read, the headaches and all the stuff that goes along with it. I just stopped selling and told ebay they are way too slanted to the buyers to be worth selling anymore. They really only want high volume sellers anyways so my comments were circular filed.

  6. If they can't/won't do another studio release, at least they could throw us a bone and put out a vaults/rarities thing ... Lord knows they have a bunch of demos/unreleased stuff in the can from past sessions that's been making the bootleg rounds for years. Polish up some of that sh*t with some studio magic and boom, fans have some new stuff to listen to, and it's something besides another frickin' live album, that way everybody's happy.

    right on!!

  7. The actual CD is just a CDR with some Art work labelled to it. I paid 30plus bucks for that! Great............

I`m a huge KOTS fan and i have to say was pretty disappointed with it!

Just sounds like some demos and left overs they threw together. Production is demo quality at best.

Definitely nothing like the must have 3 previously releases they put out.

wow. Thats just not good on many different levels...
