Yawn!!! This is the saaaaame song they've done at least 3 or 4 times. I'm not interested.

Here is another ballad. A Southern styled ballad...nothin' special.

    What Ya Gonna Do

Another Kid Rock wanna be Southern Rock track

More foot stomping Southern Rock stuff

Maybe I've being spoiled this year with some great melodic stuff to be able to enjoy this stuff.

I dare anyone to find any good hooks on those two rockers I added from Youtube. Take It To The Limit was stuffed with hooks after hooks, from what I hear this one isn't. The guitar licks are crappy, listen to the 2 new rockers and then pull out Use Me, Loaded and Alone or Heaven Sent....Take It To Limit kicked ass and was catchy and melodic the new stuff doesn't even come close.

Granted "Take It To The Limit" was a melodic hard rock masterpiece no doubt. But, call me crazy, I'm digging the tracks on this new one as well, even the three you just posted. I'm hearing Nickelback influences more than anything, which isn't a bad thing either. Sure, it might not beat "TITTL" when it's all said and done, but it's still sounding pretty darn good to these ears.

  2. I just got back from checking this flick out. It was a solid sci-fi entry. I guess the brothers Strause as they like to call themselves directed this film for $10 million. That's pretty low for today's Hollywood blockbusters, but the brothers used the money well. The special effects were good and it was fairly entertaining. You will either love or hate the ending, but at least it was different. All in all, this is what I would call a good rental.

  3. I for one actually enjoyed Pop Evil's last album "Lipstick On The Mirror", so I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across their new single today called "Last Man Standing". It sounds like they're going a little harder and grittier imo, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Here's the youtube link below. Check it out. Not bad at all.

  4. Finally, after a two year plus wait, this album has gotten an official release date of 1/11/11. I guess they got signed to a major label and had to record everything over. At any rate, the wait is almost over and I just needed to bump this thread up gain.

  5. I own all 12 of the Walking Dead graphic novels. It is one of the few graphic novel series I actually buy. It is a great series and very character driven believe it or not! So, needless to say I was pretty stoked to see what AMC did with it as a television series. And, I must say I was not disappointed. So far they're staying pretty close to the books which does not happen much these days. The production values seemed pretty solid as well. And I'm glad to see they're not pulling any punches with the violence either. After that pilot epidsode, I'm hooked and will stick around to see what the television series continues to bring.

P.S. For Jeff, AMC does have their channel in HD. That's how I watched it last night. For me in Florida, it was like channel 1055 or something on my cable provider, but it does exist.

  6. I was actually one of the few people who bought a ticket to see this as well. And surprisingly, yes, it actually was halfway decent. I enjoyed myself for 90 minutes. Sure, it had its problems, namely the studio making the director cut it down from an R rating to a pg-13 rating. This is blatantly obvious during the gunfight scenes. I would love to see the director's cut the way it was meant to be. I know this got trashed 9 ways from sunday, but I thought Josh Brolin actually did the character some justice.

  7. Got my copy yesterday and gave this a good spin last night. Good stuff. Fans of the first Smilek should find plenty to enjoy here as well. My one gripe is that since they waited three years to finally release this thing, I'd have thought they could have recorded a couple more tracks in that time. But hey, I'll stop my whining now. At least we've got 9 new tracks by Marty Smilek and his accomplices. They mix it up between mid-tempo rockers and slower type ballads. I would still easily give the edge to "Sentimental Highway", but this holds it weight just fine. This feels a little more "mature" sounding in my opinion though if that makes any sense. All in all this is good melodic rock and I'm glad to see that this reincarnation of Foxx is still at it. Keep it up Marty. "American Dream" and "Promise To Remember" were excellent.

  8. Yep, I picked up my copy yesterday as well. Some cool stuff on this one. To be honest, there are several fillers, but the good more than outweighs the bad. I think they're a little lighter version than the bands mentioned though. To me it's more like Nickelback meets Rooster meets Sick Puppies. The "Porn Star Dancing" featuring Zakk Wylde is probably the heaviest track. I also downloaded the exclusive bonus track on Itunes called "Fucked Up Situation". Thanks again Dan. I knew nothing about this band until you started this thread.

  9. Dang, I can't believe I started this thread three years ago. Talk about a long time coming....sheesh. I'd kinda written it off that it would never see the light of day except maybe through some leaked bootlegs or something. I just went and ordered my copy in a hurry as well. I have a feeling this sucker's gonna be rarer than Syre S/T in less than a year, lol.

  10. Anyone pick up the best of, + 5 new songs, 'Time for Annihilation'? As to be expected, the 5 new songs are all great, hard in-your-face rockers, except for 'No Matter What'... which is quite frankly the best thing from the band since 'The Paramour Sessions.' I love their aggressive hard rocking nature but holy shit they just nail it when they drop these melodic/commercial numbers. Stunning track.

Yep, picked it up the other day. 5 very cool hard rockin' studio tracks. IMO these five songs are some of the best of their career. I hope their next full length release continues in this same style. "No Matter What" is killer!

  11. Cool! What a pleasant surprise. I was just thinking about these guys the other day. When is the new album due out? I wonder if they are deliberately going a little harder and tougher this time around. I'll be picking it up regardless. I thought "Take It To The Limit" was damn near perfect though.

  12. Got the new Stereoside cd yesterday. Very cool stuff. If you liked "So Long", you'll jam to this one just fine as well. They're both about even in terms of standout tracks. Although this new one has the best power ballad they've ever done called "Walk Alone (Back To You)". That track alone is worth the price of admission. Other cool tracks include "Trailer Park Scum", "Crazy & Paranoid", "Amazing", and "Life Goes On". Jeff Shields voice sounds as good as ever. His vocal range is perfect for the guitar sound they use. Another thumbs up from me at least.

  13. Got my copy of this in the mail a couple of days ago. Talk about fast overseas shipping. Vedict, this is a kick-ass album! There are 13 tracks on here with hardly any fillers. This easily ranks as one of my favorite releases of the year so far. There are plenty of hard-rockin' tracks on here for those thinking that this sounded a little light on their myspace samples. Tracks like "I don't Care", "Not Your Enemy", "Cocaine Cowboy", and "What You're Doing To Me" will rock your socks off. The song "The Last Goodbye" is one of my favorite tracks on the whole album and deals with love gone wrong as you could probably tell by the title. It's kind of a story song and the chorus is fantastic. All in all I give this two big thumbs up. It's been kind of a slow summer for music but this just gave me the jolt I needed.

I ordered my copy at www.targetrecords.dk
