  1. It kind of annoys me that he knows that most fans would love for him to do something similar to a Skid Row type album again, but he just refuses. Even just a couple fist-pumping "anthem" type tracks would be nice. But noooooooooooooooooooo. Anyway, that's my rant. I'm done now.

Wait what? Have you heard Rock N Roll, Counterpunch, You Don't Understand and American Metalhead?

Hmm, there is not one track that I kept off of "Angel Down". Got rid of the cd almost immediately and never regretted it. And "Slave To The Grind" is one of my top albums. I understand modern production (I actually prefer it), but I just don't get the piss poor song-writing and lack of memorable choruses. There's eighteen year old kids out there now writing bigger choruses than my so called "80's heroes". It's sad. Just sayin....

  2. I liked "Leave this Town" better than the debut, though both had obvious filler. Enough quality tracks on both to buy this one blind though...

Backed. I actually like "Leave This Town" better than the debut as well. I think the song-writing was better, except for the last two tracks on it.

  3. Heard these both the other day, and there's no doubt that the finer album is the Tupelo Honey one.

I like the Private Line album - pretty consistent all the way through with a couple of minor standouts. But credit to Tupelo Honey; despite a couple of average songs, stuff like 'Falling,' 'One Step' and 'Last Thing' (brilliant song) eclipses anything on the Private Line album by light years. To be totally honest, the TH album has really surprised me with the high quality of some of the songs. Recommended. New vocalist goes good too.

"Falling" and "Last Thing" were indeed two of the best tracks on Tupelo Honey's new album. But, for me, the top spot would have to go to the ballad "Moment"! Great tune.

I really need to find those old EPs (sadly I still only have digital copies) to check out this song. Just can't think of it off the top of my head. I do remember 'Morphine' was awesome, though.

"Moment" is off of their new release. Its like track 5 or 6 I believe.

  5. I got the Private Line last week. Agree it's not quite as good as 'Evel Knievel Factor' but it's far far from disappointing either. The title track and 'Live, Learn & Grow Apart' are both excellent tracks for starters

Yes, "Live, Learn & Grow Apart" was my favorite track and the only track I ended up downloading. And Nightrain, Tupelo Honey is a good indie modern rock/hr band. Their song "Make Me Believe" off one of the older albums is one of the best ballads ever!

  6. I was looking around on Itunes and found that Tupelo Honey and Private Line both have new albums out. For those that like Tupelo Honey, be warned that they have a new lead singer. While he's a pretty solid replacement, I prefer their last one. Also be warned that Private Line's new one is nowhere near as good as "Evel Knievel Factor".

  7. While I'm on the subject tonight... 'We will rock you' by Warrant. Anyone who owns the single knows what an amazing job they did on this song. Not only Jani and the band showing what can be done with an already classic song, but a showcase for how amazing Joey Allen was in this era. Stunning cover track.

I agree. This cover blew away the original.

  8. Yeah, the debut was on my want list for about a decade after a cruel tease at a Cash Converters once. About a decade ago I had the CD case in my hands and was about to buy the CD for about $6. And this has only happened 2 or 3 times in my life, but I took it to the counter and sure enough they could not find the CD anywhere. C*nts. Anyway, just recently I got sick of waiting and put down about us$25 at Amazon and added it to my collection. Needless to say, killer disc. Haven't heard it for ages, but I wasn't a huge fan of 'Trust.'

I'm still having a hard time accepting the fact that you paid $25 for a CD. What is this world coming to?!!

The last time I was on Amazon you couldn't even find it that cheap!

    And that's why I got it. ;)

And you're right, Karpetface, that is officially one of the most expensive CDs I have ever bought in my life.

    And well worth it :beerbang:

  9. Yup, I got this cd a couple of weeks ago. Fantastic release!!!!! One of the best releases of the year so far imo. There was another thread where Dan posted a video of "Bounce". I hope more people give these guys a shot. I'd be bummed if they faded away after just one album from lack of sales.

  10. I'm a huge fan of Theory's last album "Scars & Souvenirs". But I gotta say I thought this latest release was a huge step backwards for them. This was mediocre at best and lacked any type of 'magic' from their last one. There's several solid tracks sprinkled throughout but overall there's nothing to warrant very many repeated listens imo.
