  1. No im not saying hes done anything, he's probably done fuck all, but thats not the point

the point is hes united people regardless of class or race, whereas Republicans tend to be more upper class and Democrats are more middle class it seems like Obama appeals to all classes...

He inspires people and gives them hope, wether he meant to or not is a different story entirely, but he's still a symbol which is why everyones so zip-a-de-doo-dah about him...

its not what he's done or even what he's promised to do, its just the way he acts and talks thats got him so much support....he acts like one of us instead of some rich conservative prick (which is a good thing, considering hes a democrat :P)

but didnt he get the NPP for uniting the world leaders or something? i havent really read about it yet....still, its been less than a year and he's still cleaning up 8 years worth of fuck ups, so give the guy a break -_-

i cant help but think that theres more anti-Obama threads on here than there were anti-Bush threads tho, and 1 and a half of the 2 years ive been on here was while Bush was in office, and that just confuses me :s

  2. Good, because he's already accomplished something in uniting so many people, rich and poor, black and white, gay and straight, English and American even....i think thats why he's getting so much praise...he unites people which is a step in the right direction, isnt it?

    has he? when?

When he was elected, did you not see the thousands of people at his inaugauration? from the rich to the homeless...

and alot more people over here in the UK are saying how much they like him than they did when Bush was in office, i just get the impression that more people have something in common now :)

  3. This is supposedly confirmed by Obie O'Brian as being the tracklisting:

    We Weren't Born to Follow

    When We Were Beautiful

    Work for the Working Man

    Superman Tonight

    Bullet

    Thorn in My Side

    Live Before You Die

    Broken Promiseland

    Love's the Only Rule

    Fast Cars

    Happy Now

    Learn to Love

  4. Heres the tracklisting:

    Can I Be Happy Now?

    We Weren't Born to Follow

    Selfish

    (Back From) Another Tragedy

    The Truth

    Just Like Friends

    Drivin'

    Never Again

    Work for the Working Man

    All I Want to Know

    7 Oceans

    Tomorrow

looks to be the same sorta fare as the last few albums, all rather "mature" song titles...

ok, ignore that, some crock of shit internet rumours apparently, heres the new tracklisting:

    We Weren't Born to Follow

    When We Were Beautiful

    Work for the Working Man

    Superman Tonight

    Bullet

    Thorn in My Side

    Live Before You Die

    Broken Promiseland

    Love's the Only Rule

    Fast Cars

    Happy Now

    Learn to Love

i hope songs like Fast Cars, Thorn In My Side and Bullet are big rock songs that are pretty much literal and not "You're love is a thorn in my side" kinda stuff.....but then again, Bad Medicine rocked so even if it is it could still be awesome :D

can you confirm this tracklisting MRoz?

  5. Seems like the idea of this thread has turned around somehow but the first 10 songs that come up on shuffle are:

Magnum PI Theme - Izzy Ryder (heh heh, last thing i listened to :P)

    Bounce - Bon Jovi

Sweet Little Gypsy - Sven Gali

Magical Mystery Tour - Jeff Scott Soto et al

Got To Get You Into My Life - Koritni

Theme from The Fog - John Carpenter

Star Trek Deep Space Nine Theme - Dennis McCarthy

    Sorry - Guns N Roses

Let's Make It Baby - Bon Jovi

Do It Again - Steely Dan

an interesting mix i must admit :P

  6. I like it, and not just because its Bon jovi, i prefer it to the HAND and Crush covers for sure, although i did like the LH cover

but its clever, its not just an album cover with a circle on it, not directly atleast :P

  7. 40 Year Old Virgin

It's scary that i could relate to it in so many different ways :P

but atleast im safe in the knowledge ill never be a 40 year old virgin :P

Yup being an 18 year old virgin is so different.

At least you have 22 more years to prevent that from happening to you. :drink:

heh heh, no luckily im in no danger of being a virgin when im 40 cause im not now :P i meant i can relate to his geekiness with the action figures and comic books, and people being scared of him cause they think he's a stalker/serial killer :P

THAT i can relate to....although come to think of it, i think id prefer that it was the virgin part i related to

Hell I wish I still had all of my old Star Wars, GI Joe and He-Man action figures from the 70's and 80's.

    Damn I would be rich.

Wouldn't we all. Add to that my baseball cards.... :crying:

i wonder what my sealed 2006 Darth Vader figure will be worth in 30 years

or my first issue of Judge Dredd :D or my unbelievably hard to find Motley Crue figures (seriously, if anyone here sees a Nikki Sixx fig i will pay to have it shipped to me :P)

I have the Todd Mcfarlane Kiss figures that they put out in 97 after the reunion.

I still have tons of baseball, basketball and football cards.

I had two Michael Jordan rookies and sold one and had one stolen from me and those were going for close to $1000 back in the early 90's. Even though I still have some good cards they don't bring in the prices they once did as the demand is gone in the card collectiong world.

Oh i do tradnig cards too!! :D

Sin City, The Crow, Star Trek, Star Wars etc

but my favourite are my rockstar trading cards :D :D i have the whole set of Bon Jovi

  8. Really? thats surprising :P

when i met him he couldnt wait to leave, until he saw two middle aged blonde women walking up, then he had all the time in the world to chat -_-

Well in that case I can't really blame him.

Seriously though he was just walking back to his dressing room/trailer and I asked him for a pic and he said sure and then he took one with all of us and I talked to him about the "Shrinking Violet" LAG disc and he mentioned it had been reiussued recently and they were gonna play a couple of tunes off of it, which they did and they rocked huge.

i got a pic with him:

but that was all :( didnt even get a chance to ask him for his autograph......but Stacey and Phil were AWESOME

sorry for going off topic :P

  10. I watched him performing Never Enough with L.A.G.....it sucked TBH, im still a fan of Phil Lewis when it comes to L.A.G but ill check this stuff out later on

Yeah I think he may be suited better to his solo stuff than to the L.A. Guns

While I prefer the Phil Lewis version of the band(just check out my anti Traci Guns thread in Flamefest) I do admit that Marty kicked ass last year with LAG at Dakota Rock Fest. They kicked butt again there this year with Jizzy Pearl too.

Really? the video i saw he had trouble reaching those higher notes on the chorus to Never Enough :/

but ill never see LA Guns live unless its Phils version....and i think Jizzy's a dick so one more reason to not see Tracii's version

  12. the purists dont like the stereo versions of the first two albums and say the rest, while clear, sound too open and not ballsy enough

i had a listen on youtube, someone has most of them on there in HD, and i gotta say, the stereo ones sound real good to my ears all things considered :D

youll never please some people anyway.....theres nothing wrong with the stereo versions, theyre just not what these people are used to/were expecting
