  1. first strike & friction do have unreleased tracks so please consider including them for us fans
  2. Labels as recent as last year were looking at reissueing the en tire hurricane back catalogue along with the hugo's valentine release, but waht stopped them was getting the rights. From what I gather the rights to reissue Hurricane & Valentine are virtually impossible to obtain. I am not sure about Jim's s/t CD though but doubt there would be an difficulty in that seeing as one of the Evenrude disc's is reissued. I am sickened by what Lonnie has done!
  3. I'm astonished the band hasn't released this themselves despite fully knowing there's a demand for it.
  4. the few times I dealt with them was last year, everything went smooth! . I hope everyone else's dealing with get better if their keen for another try.
  5. from a glam junkie's point I can see whats so average but from an aor melodic rock perspective there is nothing about devils in heaven that is average Hey, no one's mentioned Aussie rockers Icehouse , yet.... they had some amazing albums!!!
  6. press 500 & see how it goes. Hardly anybody knows the band Lorraine imho. The band will sell whene eventually everyone finds out about them.
  7. Sam, are you looking to release the recordings for what was to be cadillac bratz 2nd album , will also include the tracks recorded prior to their debut?
  8. still no mention of Domino??????? "the key" is one of finest melodic rock albums ever!!!! ofcourse, casanova's debut is 'the' best german melodic rock album, ever.
  9. We're they "Mamma said knock you out"? Yes, they did do the cover of LL Cool J's song. wasn't that was quite a radio hit, andrew?
  10. I have a de arrow demo tape, the only one officially released. This has 4 tracks including thier version of rnr nights, imho betters roxus's version. Its true, de arrow did record more tracks, over an albums worth according to one source but are closely guarded. I recall a rumour the now defunct now n then were to release the de arrow stuff along with a well known japanese label, guess thats went no where. I know noel hart of de arrow was very keen on releasing the tracks but was blocked by another member ( name escaped me, well known song writer here in oz ) who's saddly passed away. Joe cool who joined de arrow went on to form bloodstone, these guys released a kick butt heavy keyboard laden hard rock cd " the awakening " . the cd ws issued through label in the czech republic, it does show up on ebay on a regular basis. the guy cool ghoul i suspect is noneother than Julian Millis, vocalist for oz horror glam band the deadthings. I bet he's got the de arrow tracks but wont give em out.
  11. wonder what whitney & co will think of such piracy..... You reckon? I just think it's long deleted, no chance in hell anyone else in the world is ever going to hear these guys... I'm sure they'd be cool with it. I hope. expect a summons bud. Also Mr Whitney has lost his higher register over the years as a result of an operation performed on throat cancer. he can still sing but no where as good as he used, apparently. I hope you track down the David Whitney solo. Oh wow, that's sad news. He did definately have an excellent voice on him. I also hope I track down this solo album too. Hope you do. There's some realy quality obscure aor / melodic rock releases from the sydney side.
  12. wonder what whitney & co will think of such piracy..... I doubt the band would is able to get their unreleased & released music out as it seem they dont own the rights and I hope I am wrong on this. Only the bass player seems to be in the music biz, doing the Sydney covers round. the rest have m oved on to day jobs. More oz bands Indian - s/t (van halen ish hard rock, wonder if mr suncity is having nightmares on this one ) tim steen - s/t ( majestic christian aor ala mark free, cliff magnuss ) valhalla - hard rock with pants down ( really enjoyed the l.a hard rock sound here, great hair metal ) wohls - s/t ( gotta older bro , geofff, key laden aor ala zinatra ) plain jayne - s/t ( l.a hard rock e.p ala warrant ) bad boyz - s/t ( a rockier version of roxus, real good songs from sydney rockers ) rising storm - s/t ( aor from the top end, darwin, they did good business in Germany during the late 80's) bloodstone - s/t ( feat joe cool post roxus, heavy keys laden hard rock done well ) frozen tears - south melbourne (late 80's europe's aor sound, real good keys laden aor ) frozen tears - silence of the night ( less keys and more hard rocky ) surrender - s/t (superb def leppardy hard rock, should have done more, guys formed grungy dogbone ) gmt - s/t ( quality aor, ala avalon, a real favourite, keys, great songs) twice shy - s/t ( aor ala heart, yep, 2win female vox ) yeah, there's still more quality hard rock from our great nation to come
  13. wonder what whitney & co will think of such piracy.....
  14. big deal are still around, doing the covers scene, now with a diff line up to the cd. I think singer was the last one to go. the devils in heaven full lenght of unreleased tunes shoulld have been releasedhad either of the 2 single been a hit. Great songs!!!!!!
  15. Bengal Tigers, melbourne based hard rockers, went on to do another release " in the blood ". IMHO, thier best release is their cassette only release which happens to be thier debut. This is worthy of a cd pressing ( hello suncity, hello retrospect ) more on oz rock........ call of the wild - such is life ( you want ac/dc done well, here's your answer, superb stuff!! ) call of the wild - fire & ice e.p ( you want ac/dc done well, here's your answer, superb stuff!! ) big deal - time is running ( rippin hard rock ala giant meets dokken ) black china - in your eyes ( you can say these guys were hugley influenced by journey ) avalon - stand the test of time ( probably my fave of all the oz indy's, superb aor ) avion - white noise ( legendary aor, alomost mythical cd pressing on the equally mythical star burst label ) painted ocean - s/t ( real nice keyboard laden aor here ) back street shuffle - s/t ( good sleaze rock feat the guitarist who left bb steal after " heartbeat away " e.p ) there's more, of course Nodody's mentioned Nobody's Fool yet either. They're okay. Oh my sweet christ!!!! How could I forget these guys??? I agree. These guys would have given Harem Scarem a run for their money. A truly excellent band. Put that at number 2 on my list, behind Roxus and ahead of BB Steal. LOVE those guys. Perfect melodic hard rock. David Whitney - s/t ( smooth aor ala mark free, yes he's the singer from Devils In Heaven ) - I have to check this one out. Where can I find this one??? axcel - incoporated ( straight up hard rock ) - that's the A band I was talking about. Not a fan, but good trading material. blue ruby - s/t ( keyboard saturated aor ala Journey / Kansas ) - Blue RUBY! Not Big Talk... this is the other one I was referring too. Actually not a bad EP... couple of really excellent songs. nobody's fool, still going strong, gotta give respects to the man there, he was in cult u.k aorsters peroux!!! david whitney's disc hopefully found at a used cd store in sydney. you still haven't placed devils in heaven in number 2.
  16. How about devils in heaven - say a prayer devils in heaven - liberation Those two are 2 of the best melodic hard rock releases ever. How about David Whitney - s/t ( smooth aor ala mark free, yes he's the singer from Devils In Heaven ) axcel - incoporated ( straight up hard rock ) just strait - s/t ( straight up hard rock ) blue ruby - s/t ( keyboard saturated aor ala Journey / Kansas ) zambelis - s/t ( mhr along the lines of the first 2 Giant albums ) hostage - poor n famous ( hair metal ala warrant / trixter ) Eclipse - s/t ( 2 track e.p but kick ass mhr ala femme fatale / saraya / witness ) crucial kick - s/t ( christian mhr ala guardian / styper ) oh yeah, there's more
  17. Andy, that's only because I have such an incredibly sexy voice... it's too bad these message boards are limited to text input only, lol. Kiddin' around man. Yes, I do recall those days fondly. It was always a pleasure gettin' a call from Australia, to catch up on, and learn about all the coolest big gems everyone was after then. Well, cool, at least, until my girlfriend at the time started complaining about some "weird guy with a weird accent" calling when I wasn't home, asking for me, and then wanting to talk to her when he'd learn I wasn't around.... lol. Kiddin' around buddy- she too had an accent (Eastern European). Good times, man, good times. Cheers, PJ PJ, yeah, now I gotta say, your then girl had a mighty sexy voice. Thought you said you'd send her my way after you've been through her. Hey, I'm waiting , LOL.. ( just kidding bud ) You seem to have a knack on landing yourself those exotic eastern euro babes, always admired you for that. whats she upto these days?
  18. PJ, I miss those times, free international phone calls, talking stuff!! Hard to believe years have gone by & I still recall our chats as if it it was it happened last week.
  19. Thats fantastic news! I hope to be able to out one of these gigs. Great news about your dad!!
  20. I hope you guys eventually get the oslo, I know you both know of a guy who can gt the cd for yas tough. Keep em stories comin, I'm lovin it. My friction baby talk cd was purchase from the mighty sam macaslin, ep, thats right, mr retrospect records himself, long before I knew of its rareness & for $50. This was around the late 90's I think, 1999. Sam actually sent that cd along with 3 others before I made payment, much to my surprise. When I made payment about 2 months after I think he had forgotten about sending em those cds. It puts a big smile onmy face when I think about how I got my Friction CD. How I found out about friction baby talk was through spending hours on the phone with Brent of Dreamdisc. It is Brent who pretty much told me about alot of the rarities I know of.
  21. Why would Rock-It release Friction? I am hoping you have an answer to your own question since you know the guys in Italy who run the rock it records.
  22. word around town has it that the friction baby talks disc is the next in line rock it records release. stay tuned. I'd hate to see that happen if rock it records are a bootleg label.
  23. I hope when the Tindrum - Drums of war reissue is out, it contains b sides, studio out takes & demos I'd settle for the original Drums of war demo tracks as bonuses
