  2. what do people make of the ebay seller nightsmile ??? says items are in the US, but member is from russian federation... almost all of his titles are of new release metal of various types and are all ab out 7.49 buy it now.... and apparently the seller has about 10 of each... link to an item for sale
  3. just lookin at the images of the cd and artwork it looks pretty good... are the other releases in this series different to this? is anyone able to post images of any others?
  4. Got answer today, seems Deron is still in business <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so did i actually, good news... not sure if hes still in business, but when i put my order in ill ask him, maybe hes just getting rid of the last cds....
  5. what are the best online cd stores eg NEH, etc, that are the cheapest or best value for money, both in terms of cd prices and postage costs in peoples opinions.... thanks
  6. ive been in touch with Matt from Theocracy and he has said that the label is no more but he is unsure about the store...
  7. stromspell, have u had any replies.... as i havnt... so at this point i wont be putting in an order, pity cos they have some cool stuff, and something id really like. its odd as it looks like its had an update as recent as january! cheers
  8. that doesnt make sense... if it isnt reissued, then it must be the original from 10 years ago or whenever it was.... so why isnt it selling for heaps.... i would love to see this reissued as its apparently brilliant... but does the band know? just from memory XL went on to become Freefall then became Kick, so they are still very much around somewhere also... if boss - step on it is a cdr.... whats the point? ive got a cdr of boss - step on it that i made myself from the lp. and its value is nothing... its just a cdr. just asking again, does the band actually know about this?? Boss obviously is no longer.... but the guitarist is now in Black Label and is readily available, as is the singer who is still playing around with BB Steal just making a comment on the RR website (as someone who works in websites, graphics, both online and print material)... the site looks decent... until you actualy see the scans of the cds available, which are terrible. if they cant put decent images on the site, what are the chances of having decent printed covers?.... i made a scan of my own boss lp, and printed it off.... it looks so much better then the image on the site.... just my thoughts...
  9. boss - well known for not being on cd.... xl - well known for being a good album, but very rare.... surely we wouldve heard more about these if theyd been reissued properly?
  10. ive never really had any interest in in this retrospect argument as i knew nothing about it.... i finally had a look at their site.... two things to me stood out straight away.... "Boss - step on it" has been released by Retrospect on cd form (i have the vinyl and had never ever heard of a cd release till now) and "XL - rock all over you" has been rereleased.....(iheard something about it ages ago but people are still paying big bucks for the original) can someone explain?? not wishing to cause a fight, just wondering.... do the bands actually know??
  11. is there anyone else here like me who really couldnt give a damn either, and is just sick of hearing crappy lil schoolgirl arguments from both sides?
  12. Power of Omens did nothing for me.... i was after the Theocracy album
  13. sounds great, its just that ive tried cotacting them 2 or 3 times and not heard back from them. im torn between ordering as you guys give them good reports yet they havnt got back to me... not sure what to do
  14. has anyone bought online from MetalAges.com? im thinking about buying something, just wanting to know what they are like... cheers
  15. they better put it out soon.... although im kinda over it already..., its been 4 yrs since X came out. i want a new rocking studio album. hopefully theyll put out the covers album, and that may signify a new start, so they can rock again.
  16. I hope you didn't take my post as a dig or a slam. I just figured I'd throw my 2 cents in on the ones I recognized, in hopes that other folks would do the same... the more points of data, the greater the potential consensus... -Dan <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeh no worries Dan, my reply may have come across a bit defensive. was just trying to maintain that it was just an interesting list id compiled of what people mostly on here had said at one stage, or on other stuff like NEHrecords site etc... wasnt trying to be a def lep copycat nazi:) someone said something here once along the lines of "one mans blue tears, is another mans queensryche".... great quote. ill go thru the list now and give my opinion...
  17. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> some of these you marked as no , id say were definite yes's... o well... i tried
  18. Ok Phaffas ... Heaven's Gate is a german melodic power metal band... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i realise that - its a bit of an odd one out - but it was definatly mentioned a few times by board members from memory as being "if def leppard went power metal".... not my opinion, just stating others opinions - personally i havnt heard them cheers
  19. "ok here is a list i have compiled of stuff that at some point has been compared to def leppard.... doesnt mean i 100 % agree...." personally i believe some petra and Johnny lima does. i havnt heard the others that Faust listed... but once again "ok here is a list i have compiled of stuff that at some point has been compared to def leppard.... doesnt mean i 100 % agree...."

  21. O, then Phaffas, u gotta track down the XL release, or at least get the tunes as they will maybe become a fav of yours if u give them a shot. Solid stuff by all means, it was actually one of those releases that grew on me big time!! I liked it at first okay, then as time went on (a couple of shuffles in and out of the player), yeah, I'd say I really like it now, moreso! Recommended! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeh Ripper, ive been watching out for it for a while but last time i saw it.... i think it went for about 60 bucks..... for only about 5 songs or something..... seems like everyone wants it...
  22. theres actually quite a few def lep "wannabe" threads on here over the years. as def leppard are my fave band i look out for every wannabe. ive been stockpiling a list of all bands/albums that ive read over the years to be compared to def leppard (even if after listening to them i disagree, but hey its all up to personal interpretation).... its quite long.... ill add the rest when i get a chance... ive slowly been collecting them all and thought i nearly had them all - but this latest thread has revealed a few more suggestions.................... COOL!!!
  23. I agree. Powertool sounded alot like Def Leppard. I loved that album <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not sure if they're the best, but they are good (as there are a lot of good "Leppardy" sounding releases as mentioned), but the XL release amazed me on how they sounded so close to Lep even in style. Heck, the singer not only sounds like Joe, he even studied his midtempo talk/rasp and pronunciation of words when he sings on some songs... I dunno, for some reason that is the closest I've truly heard to Lep (the drums also sound to a tee for Lep's too), but the styles of BB Steal, Blue Tears, and like I said the many that others have mentioned all barrow from DL. If I had to pick a favorite, I may have to go with Blue Tears, but the Sleez Beez release I liked a lot too, although I have not listened to it in a long long time, I just remember liking it pretty good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> XL is quite rare isnt it? its prob the hardest to get a hold of?? i recently read somewhere that there was a reissue.... anyone confirm?
