Well I've never bought a cd for investment purposes but I do collect music. I don't like cdrs but I'll take them if its the only source for the music, I much prefer silver pressed cds...I'm very happy to see Sam switching to silver pressed cds....I have never paid more than $20 for a cd on Ebay although I used to pay much more at the brick and mortar music stores before Ebay came along....But I buy much more music today than I did then. The bottom line for me is I pay what I can afford to pay and I can't afford hundreds of $$ for a cd. Also with the high quality of silver pressed boots coming out these days you need an 'expert' to tell the difference between boot and original. Anyone who pays a small fortune for rare cds today has entirely too much $$$ or too little sense IMO considering the odds that the cd won't be original. I have a certain amount of sympathy for those who have paid out the $$$ and who will probably have a very hard time recouping their costs if they ever try to resell their cds. This may not be the case today but for sure it will be in the future with so many sources of boots popping up all over. On the positive side people like myself will be able to listen to these rare releases because the cost will drop to reasonable levels.

Hmmm...you've just given me an idea...the next root canal I have I will ask the dentist to play purple rain during the process....they say the best way to get rid of one pain is to induce another pain elsewhere in the body, in this case my ears.....

Yeah this is a tough one but Dokken is the clear winner even if their latest output is crap...

Yeah, what's even more amazing is Zepplin somehow have actually managed 10 votes??? WTF? What's amazing to me is that Zep has ONLY 10 votes. They should be dominating this one, IMO. Only based on reputation, history and a sense of what's "right" alone. If one looks at the three bands as individual contributors to music... regardless of what influence they may have had or where they were influenced from, IMO Zeppelin are clearly the weakest band on this list. It's just a shame all the other bullshit gets brought into the argument and many feel it's the right choice, to vote for Zeppelin because they should. "the weakest band on this list"..HUH!! Well not everyone is a fan of Led Zep...that's cool...that's life..but for me who grew up listening to them...impatiently waiting for the next release.....cursing for a month straight when they disbanded...they are the greatest hard rock band in history. Period. Of course I understand that people who were born in the following generations have other tastes...after all look at the teenagers of today who listen to nu-metal and Spears shit ,who would not be caught dead listening to 80s and 90s music. That's just how it works. But the bottom line for me is I can't understand how anyone with an open mind can sit down and listen to Led Zep and not be blown away...and yes I do like the other bands in this poll but I'm afraid they do not compare well to the gods... P.S. there's no reason to read between the lines and assume that I think that anyone who is not a Led Zep fan should clean the crap out of their ears...honestly!..

I couldn't make a decision on who was the best ever so I went with Exodus because I really like their newest stuff and I can't say that about any other band on this list.....

Damn fine single release by these guys. Too bad they don't have more music to consider, I generally like to have a minimum of 2 releases before I decide whether a band is good, great or average.....

Extremely tough poll for many of us I suspect....While I've heard of most of these bands and am actively trying to get my hands on cds by most of them , it is extremely difficult to do so. Which is why I suspect Roxy Blue is ahead in this poll...they along with Roxx Gang are the most well known.....
