I'd also love to find American Noise. They had some songs on the radio in the Cleveland market when I was growing up, but I've never seen the LP anywhere, let alone a CD.

Unless the zombies figure out how to ride the raptors. Then we are all in for some bad shit!!!
You have just given me a GREAT idea for a screenplay, Rick. This could be a cross between "Jurassic Park" and "Dawn of the Dead." Scuse me while I compose a letter to Mr. Spielberg.
As long as you give it a catchy title...something like "Attack of the Raptor Riding Brain Eating Zombies From Another Area!!!"
Or "Gigli".

Don't bother sending Spielberg your script. I still haven't heard back from him about my "Indiana Schindler and the Color of Purple Goonies" manuscript. The guy is obviously a hack...

Although Heavy Harmonies is of course a CD data base, there are plenty of great songs and bands that are only on vinyl and cassette. What are some classic bands or songs you would like to see on disc?
Speaking for myself, I would love to see a band called 3rd Stage Alert released on CD. Their five song EP was produced by Yngwie "J." Malmsteen. I've only heard one song, "Superstar". It's kind of a cross between 220 Volt and Rainbow, and the guitar solo is very European. I got the tune on a Metal Blade compilation CD that was included in a Heavy Metal record collector's book that has since been out of print, and the liner notes indicated that it was the only song ever released by the band on CD. Too bad if that's true, because it's a killer song.
Anyone ever heard this band? And do you have any others to add to the list?
I had the 3rd stage Alert on Tape, and I transfered to CD, it's
not bad, "Superstar" The song on Martin Popoff's Metal Guide ( as you mention)
is the Best song on the release...the rest being rather average.
I'm sorry to hear that. I had been looking for that EP, thinking that if the rest was like "Superstar" it would be worth having...thanks for the info.

Happy Birthday, Pete! Hope you have a rock n roll party in the streets!
Not literally of course. I mean, not only are you as old as the hills, but I'm sure your brittle bones couldn't handle it, and you know how your psoriasis gets...
On second thought, why don't you just go lie down?

I miss finding new music in shops, but the internet let's me do it in my underwear.
Dude, you will never know true freedom until you let the underwear go. Nude CD-shopping is where it's at.
Wow, I didn't know there was anyone left still wearing clothing when they CD-shopped? Neanderathals!
Yeah, I know. And sometimes I shop online nude, when it's too cold to go out.
So...when it's not too cold to go out, you shop nude at the mall then, or what?
Is that a practice I should quit?
Well, yeah...the mall is really expensive. You should only shop nude at Wal*Mart.

Well, I screwed this poll up, but basically I was wondering who you all thought the rock star most in need of psychiatric evaluation is among these choices...
Ace Frehley
Ozzy Osbourne
Axl Rose
Nikki Sixx
Chris Holmes
Eddie Van Halen
Lemmy Kilmister
Geoff
(Just kidding on that last one...Or am I?)

I like to poke fun around here, but I honestly hope you and your family enjoy much health and happiness up to and including the arrival of your beautiful new babies. And my only advice is...take a nap.

I used to have a Fastway tank top that was black and white checkered like a racing flag with the Fastway logo across the front. Man, that was cool.

did you see the report that during the game, one area of the country got a 10 second show of some x-rated movie. they do not know how it happened. it only happened on the analog feed, not the HD feed.
I actually saw that on Yahoo7 news here too. Lucky bastards.
Answer: Gay porn and the NFL.
"What are two occupations that involve knee pads, blown plays, touch backs and odd-shaped balls, Alex?"

Was it a good scene?
If so I wish I'd have gotten that show.
backed... stupid digital satellite TV...
What's ironic is that the scene showed unnecessary roughness on the tight end...

My son and I love Wii bowling. It's a riot. Have you tried the training mode where you try to knock down, like, 100 pins? It's hilariously fun! (And hard.)

When I turned ten, my parents bought me one of those table-top cassette players that were all the rage in 1977. You know the kind? Flap door on top, five buttons that look like piano keys for play, rew, ff, stop and record? It was cool for a ten year old, let me tell you. And with it, they gave me the Bay City Rollers Greatest Hits tape (incredible, there was actually more than one Bay City Rollers song considered a "hit") and some money to buy another tape on my own.
I remember going to the Mall shortly after with my whole family to get some autographs signed by the Cleveland Barons NHL team who happened to be there, (Dennis Maruk!), and while we were there I saw the cover for KISS' Destroyer CD in the record store window. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen! I begged my parents to let me buy the cassette, and against their better judgment while still flush with excitement from meeting Don McAdams, they said okay.
I loved that cassette so much that I think it actually melted in spots from overuse. I still have it thirty-two years later. I have also purchased the vinyl and CD of it and to this day it is still my favorite album by my favorite band.
I became a collector because for thirty years, I have been trying to recapture that same feeling of excitement and fun I had when I purchased that first cassette.

Did you know that if you wear a robe and slippers to the IHOP on your birthday, your pancakes are totally free?
(And if you wear nothing other than your " birthday suit", they throw in a sausage link!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And don't get syrup on your yoohoo.

I was about 12 years old when my uncle took me and my cousin to see KISS in their "Vegas" costumes while promoting their Dynasty and solo albums. New England was opening and I immediately became a huge fan of them also. I spent the first ten minutes of the show excitedly taking pictures from the rafters with my mom and dad's crummy Kodiak camera. No other concert has ever lived up to the excitement and fun I experienced that night and every time I think about it makes me smile.

Well this should be an easy win for the Cardinals since the fucking refs never call pass interference on them. Sorry guys I'm still bitter over the NFC Championship game.
I understand the "eaglesfan" in your member name, but is the "3000" for the year you think they'll win it all?
Don't be too irritated. I'm a Browns fan. (But you can call me brownsfan3001.)

Request for Cyber-Friendship
I (unclever member name here), being of sound-loving mind and body, do hereby request the honor of your cyber-friendship for the purposes of exchanging musically oriented ideas and/or opinions, creating an atmosphere of fun and frivolity, and getting free stuff (if I can somehow make you believe and care that I will stop liking you if you don't send me two-thirds of your rare and out of print CDs.)
In exchange for my cyber-friendship, you will be entitled to: a) get a polite nod from me if we should ever accidentally meet in real life; take shots at other members on the board without fear of a hilariously worded flame-out from me; and c) send me the last third of your rare and out of print CDs.
Signed, _____________________________________________________________
I hope this helps.
Favorite song: Dokken - "Tooth and Nail" (1984)

For no reason I can explain, my favorite song on this disc has always been Bullets to Spare. Maybe the stop and start drums got my attention, or maybe it's that Lynch's playing is unusually crisp and understated. It is definitely a nice hard rock tune on a great metal release, no matter what that silly metalmeatheadWD40 (or whatever Mark goes by these days) thinks.
