  1. Simple answer is no. There are CDs I would be devestated to never hear again, but f*ck me with a clothes line would $5000 help me out of some f*cked up shit.

An eccentric millionaire shows up at Geoff's door and promises to give him seven dollars, a bus token and fifty feet of clothesline, but with one catch...

  2. I've been trying to track down a song for a couple of years now but I'm afraid the info I remember (and can describe) is sketchy at best...

The lyric I remember was something like, "And you'll take a, take a chance/When you see that girl romance/On the freeway."

The band sounded like Tommy Tutone or the Outfield (though it wasn't). We're talking early 80s, if memory serves. I could've sworn the song was called "On the Highway" or "On the Freeway" but I cannot find anything remotely close.

    Any help appreciated!

  3. I just caught this thread today. I've had a copy of Ride Your Life on CDr for months (got it from a buddy), but I only gave it a couple spins until today. It's really growing on me. I'll be keeping an eye out for the CD as well.

  4. yawn.

Gosh, narcolepsy is so cool. Have you ever fallen asleep while pooping?

Anyway, KISS and Alice Cooper are influences on hair metal, but they are not hair metal bands anymore than the New York Dolls are punk. Same goes for Angel and Aerosmith.

Tigertailz are as hair metal as you can get, but they get no ranking?

Badlands? Scorpions? Aldo Nova? (Okay, the boots are kinda glam, but seriously.)

    This list sucks.

  5. Straight sweep for Judas Priest. I can't stand Iron Maiden. I want to run to the hills every time I hear 'em.

That's funny, because I used to say that exact same thing (about running to the hills). It took me a long time to warm to Bruce Dickinson's vocals. That warble is so pronounced that it can be really off-putting. But once I got used to it, I realized how much I love Niko's drumming and the double guitar attack, which is (usually) awesome. (Now if Steve Harris would just stop playing jazz riffs all over everything life would be great!) :guitbannana:

  6. ...ive never purposly used any other brand of amp then Peavey! it's stand out original clear, stingy distortion, trademarked sound is as cool as i'll ever hear, you can pick it out of any band, on any cd, ever recorded, and you don't even have to think about it, or listen to the song again, It's completely isolated as far as sound uniqueness, and originality from anything ive ever heard in my life, including Marshall and Crate...

I also love Peavey. I had a Backstage solid state amp that I bought new over twenty years ago that up until a few months ago still sounded like a small tube stack. It was awesome until the reverb and speaker finally blew. Great amp. I play mostly Fender tubes now, but that little Peavey was the best bargain I ever got in an amplifier. :headbanger:

  7. Yeah, could I get mine with just a side of Pete love and maybe a large Fry?

Fry wishes he wasn't quite as large actually...

Pete, you need to be careful when Jim wants your large Fry, if you know what I mean. The boy just ain't right.

Don't be crazy. If I was talking about that, I would have said "tater-tot"...

  8. Hey, I kinda LIKED "Daredevil!" Even tho I would've cast someone other than Ben Affleck in the title role.

Yea I did too, and wasn't Kingpin white??? Besides that I liked it... Of course My wife says it's the worst movie next to Howard the Duck... I shall be beating Her soon....

If your wife thinks "Daredevil" and "Howard the Duck" are the worst movies, she obviously hasn't seen enough bad movies. There are far, FAR worse films out there.

    Like your wedding video?

  9. Hopefully Spider Man 4 will be better than part 3.....

Backed. Spider-Man 3 was a pretty major disappointment for me... too much going on in that thing. Venom should've been "Spider-Man 4" all by himself, no need to shoehorn his whole story into the last hour of "SM3"

True, but SM3 was still better than 80% of the comic based movies out there.

  10. It was one film was it not?

Thus it was several stories combined into a single film.

Watchmen is a single story in a single film, thus a truer adaptation!

depends which version we're talking about....the directors cut was split into 4 seperate films....

The director's tuna on rye was also split into four separate sections, too. But that's really another story...

  11. Welcome to the forum. everything they say about me is a dirty lie. :)

Or at the very least a dirty truth... ;)

    :gone:

    Dirty, dirty, filthy girl!!

What's really important is that she's dirty.

    Oh, and welcome Shawn! :)

  12. I love both of these bands! :guitbannana:

I chose all Iron Maiden except for Priest's "Turbo", which has a special place in my memory and is a personal favorite, but each choice was pretty difficult (and pretty close).

However, if "Sad Wings of Destiny" was on this list, I would choose it over all contenders. :guitar:

  13. I've also got a Martin X-25 I took apart sitting up in the loft in a case caked in cat vom. Suffice to say, I ain't anxious to break out that one and re-assemble it anytime soon.

    I don't know man, I'm hearing "signature sound", that's what I'm hearing... ;)

Yeah, and that signature sound is "MEOW...herrrp."
